francagoestohollywood · 02/11/2007 16:42

Rosa, I have been taking zinc for a year now, and I'm convinced it's working against catching colds...

hotHELL · 02/11/2007 20:47

PippiCalzelunghe · 03/11/2007 21:05

I haven't been very well either yesterday and the day before. very weak and fainty. had to leave work early on friday by taxi, which was quite annoying as I was supposed to go out.
better today though.
lazzaretto si si.

francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2007 21:24

and lazzaretto goes on. dd seemed very well, but tonight refused to eat (pizza ) and had a mild temperature...
just read on other thread that it can take up to a week to spread to someone else... arg!!!!

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 03/11/2007 21:35

oh no, poor DD and you. are you feeling any better? did you have any temp? I am sure DD will be next!

hotHELL · 03/11/2007 21:37

Yes took ds and friend to the fairground, felt a lot better. Is your unwellness pregnancy related or a bug, Pippi? I felt really rough during my first months of pregnancy, noo fun.
Take care everybody, this is only the beginning of the winter bugs!!!!

francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2007 21:39

I had something like 37.2, which felt like a 40. I'm feeling better now. not a 100% but better. oh pippi it sucks being pg and ill at the same time.
distraiamoci da queste malattie:
what are you reading?/whatched any good movie/tv prog?
I'm addicted to flight of the conchords on bbc4. I watched "thank you for smoking" and really liked it. Still reading E.Gaskell "Daughters and wives".

Shitemum · 03/11/2007 21:44

franca -just had to track you down after I saw your post on the 'what did your grandparents do' thread to tell you my paternal grandfather was also a violinist, and Italian!

PippiCalzelunghe · 03/11/2007 21:48

reading 'sophie's choice' at the moment, just started, got it from a charity shop. not sure right choice for pg but desperate as nothing to read so there you go!

might go and get some movies tomorrow, will try to get that. dh is pathetic, spent 40, I say 40, minutes in the half built garage. no he's not having an affair, phone was in. maybe it would be less sad if he did!

francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2007 21:50

!!!! Where was your grandad from shitemum, when was he born? mine in 1900, unfortunately he died years before I was born.

OP posts:
PippiCalzelunghe · 03/11/2007 21:50

shitemum I like your name! I am jealous!!

francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2007 21:58

yes, it's a great name.
pippi lolololol at your dh.

OP posts:
Shitemum · 03/11/2007 22:09

Glad you like the name, I thought it would be good as no-one could criticise my parenting skills with a name like this!

My grandfather was born in Sardinia around 1889. He emigrated to the UK when he was in his teens and lived most of his life in Glasgow. He died in 1968/9 aged 80, I was about 1.

francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2007 22:14

For a moment I thought we might have been related shitemum . Forgot to say my grandad was born in Treviso, Veneto in 1900. Now I'm getting all teary thinking of your grandfatehr emigrating to such a far away place only in his teens . What a long journey to make!

OP posts:
Ellbell · 03/11/2007 22:17

Ciao a tutte! Hello Shitemum! Have you been to Sardinia? It's on my list as a 'must visit'! (I work with two Sardinians, so I can't avoid it really - though one is from Sassari and one from Cagliari, so there's a certain amount of rivalry...)

francagoestohollywood · 03/11/2007 22:20

Ellbell, step away from the last part of the thread (it's an emetophobic hell...)
Last time I went to Sardinia was 1980 . It's utterly beautiful.

OP posts:
Brangelina · 03/11/2007 22:20

Hello all you sick ladies (and Shitemum or are you sick too?). I'm so glad I'm not near any of you lot . As yet I haven't succumbed to anything, the only thing we've got going around sunny Monza is this catarrhy cough thing which DD was the last in her nursery to catch and luckily didn't pass it on to me. So yes, apart from a dreadfully neglected moustache I am in good health. Oh, I do have a mouth ulcer too but have avoided giving myself the purga my mother always advised in such occasions. Do any of you guys have a non-purga remedy for that?
