franca 'ACQUA ACQUA' I am afraid... not one right.

PippiLangstrump · 18/09/2007 21:45

yea rosa def younger than me... super bubbly and funny.

francagoestohollywood · 18/09/2007 21:48

ohmygod: don't tell me you're a bionda? (memorie of pippi saying her dh gets more tanned than her resurface...)

OP posts:
PippiLangstrump · 18/09/2007 21:53

no not really...

francagoestohollywood · 18/09/2007 22:03

short brown hair, tall, nice polpacci?

OP posts:
Ellbell · 18/09/2007 22:12

LOL! I am (naturally ) blonde, short (boyish) hair, glasses, 1.68m, bit overweight (size 16). You were right about the jeans/t-shirts.

Rosa - I think dh has found us an apartment which worked out as cheap as a hotel. We are just waiting for the owner to come back to us and confirm it. Se non sbaglio it's in S. Polo (but I might be getting confused, as we looked at a few). Thanks for all help and advice.

Ellbell · 18/09/2007 22:13

I imagined franca as quite petite, brown shoulder length glossy hair.

Pippi ... I'm really sorry, amore, but I imagine you as ... Pippi. The real Pippi!

hotmed I think is uber-elegante.

Ellbell · 18/09/2007 22:15

(but not in a scary way, hotmed... )

francagoestohollywood · 18/09/2007 22:16

acqua - acqua - acqua ellbell !!!!

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 18/09/2007 22:17

(I'd do anything in order to have glossy hair)

OP posts:
Brangelina · 18/09/2007 22:23

Lol, I'm a bit shorter (about 10cm!) a bit thinner (fortunately) and I used to have my glamourous moments but it's almost too much effort now. I am also old and must get my roots retouched, my hair is not so much wavy as wild (think Helena Bonham Carter in the Room with a view period), so I think I should book the hairdresser for next week.

I was sure that Pippi is blonde and tall and slim, maybe with green eyes. Maybe castano chiaro?

Franca, you haven't confirmed or denied your description. Is it true then?

Rosa I imagine as very English, very pale complexion, but maybe that's because she's called Rosa.

Brangelina · 18/09/2007 22:24

Franca have you got curly hair?

francagoestohollywood · 18/09/2007 22:31

I have shortish frizzy totally hideous hair, which is getting grey (previously castano). I need to go to hairdresser, but will go in Milano. I'm 1.72, size 10-12.

OP posts:
Ellbell · 18/09/2007 22:46

You're tall, franca!

By the way, I need all you lovely ladies to send positive Italian vibes my way on Thursday afternoon. I have to give a conference paper in Italian. I am very nervous. I've got a couple of friends to check it for me, but I am still convinced that I am going to sound horrible.

francagoestohollywood · 18/09/2007 23:03

Positive vibes Ellbell. Btw, I'm a 100% sure you'll do great (sei bravissima )

OP posts:
hotmed · 19/09/2007 09:23

Buona fortuna!

hotmed · 19/09/2007 09:30

I certainly do not wear che guevara scarves, che orrore! And I am not shortish, quite tall in fact. My look is a mixture of 'can't be bothered' to 'bohemian', to 'classic'. When I said I was a bit of a hippie I meant in spirit. I always thought franca was very tall in golden pumps with big hair and glasses, bohemainish clothes, big thick scarves in the winter, often hideous hat against the wind.

hotmed · 19/09/2007 09:31

i also thought cali was a sort of c z jones, lol!

francagoestohollywood · 19/09/2007 10:55

golden pumps: secret wish. Have lots of ballerinas in different colours and a passion for - now unfashonable - new balance trainers.
glasses: check
boohemian clothes: sometimes +classic but usually trousers and jumper. It's cold!
big scarves: check
hideous hats: check
and don't forget the moustache.

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 19/09/2007 10:56

ma no, it's not che guevara scarf, it's the palestinese scarf!

Rosa · 19/09/2007 13:18

Oh I missed out on some good chat there. I have sat and laughed at your descriptions of each other and yourselves . I imagined Franca certainly not as tall and wavy dark hair .
Pippi - petit Bionda, and bouncy ..dont ask me why.
Ellbell I had you in flowing skirts similar to Brangelina but with a trendy Italian touch.
Med not sure !
As for me , Franca is right late 30s, Bionda finta ( highlights), Round 1m70 and after todays session in the gym getting thinner !
Cali I imagine to be tall and jolly and super organised.
Brangelina I HATE uffici postali with a loathing especially teh main one here this one woman used to have a tape measure for your parcels but the best was when they said to some tourists ahead of me sorry we have no stamps 65cents but I do have some Euro 1 ones if you want them I was so cross as they could have done them using the machines they have. I also think it is essential that you must not smile, be rude as possible if you work in a Post office here. ( sorry if any of you have friends working in them !)

hotmed · 19/09/2007 14:43

lol at bionda finta.
i did have a palestinese scarf in my twenties, in fact 2, one black and white and one red and white. incredibly unstilish, i know.

francagoestohollywood · 19/09/2007 14:47

Hate uffici postali as well (though I lived near a seemingly efficient one in Milan). And I'll miss the two lovely ladies who work at my local post office.
Rosa, no, my hair isn't wavy: it's frizzy . I have an awful relationship with it .
So how was the gym? do you have ...... a personal trainer?????

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 19/09/2007 14:47

see I thought so .

OP posts:
francagoestohollywood · 19/09/2007 14:51

I actually think they look somehow more stylish now. Think late 80s, palestinbese scarf, tight jeans and black all stars. And "scorpions" written on the zaino...
