oh and I imagining as a franca all this time!!

hothell trust me I am a crap cook as well. admittedly got better recently out of necessity: DH eats a lot and lots of meat. I only do the easy ones.
I've got a great beef stew recipe from jamie oliver with porcini that is super yummi and dead easy.

Thanks to the advice of other mntters I'm now hooked on www.deliaonline.com and imagine myself baking the whole day...
I'm not a great cook either, but I'm really golosa. Both my nonne were amazing, and my auntie is very good as well. I do practise a lot though
You can still call me franca if you want pippi, not much difference (and my dad is franco)

We had pesto con cipollotti, fave e pomodorini. I used to be a good cook but have become really slovenly since DD was born. Once I would never dream of buying a ready made sauce as it's really easy to make a decent sugo (and mine was better). Now I am the queen of sughi pronti.

Oh well.

PippiBloodyStump · 03/10/2007 20:47

no I like the e s c a one, I think it suits your description. pippi's going mad.

what do you think it's mine?

Brangelina · 03/10/2007 20:49

Does it begin with an S?

PippiBloodyStump · 03/10/2007 20:51

brangelina you are spooking me out!!!!

Brangelina · 03/10/2007 20:58

Lol, it was a wild guess, honest! I know someone from Umbria with red hair and her name begins with an S. It can't be you as she's older than me and I'm OLD.

Is the second letter I?

francagoestohollywood · 03/10/2007 20:58

Brangelina · 03/10/2007 21:00

Yes , and to think I used to smile smugly to myself when I saw people buying them in the supermarket.

At least they're Italian sughi pronti, and not that Dolmio rubbish. Not sure if it's any better but it makes me feel better...

Brangelina · 03/10/2007 21:01

you're never going to get there. no just the H!!

Brangelina · 03/10/2007 21:11

Oh no, I meant sughi Mutti (v. expensive but they are quite good), sughi Voiello (not bad) and Barilla con olive. There are also Bertolli which aren't bad. But you'll find all this out when you move back.

And you'll miss the variety of an English supermarket - in Esselunga Monza there is only one shelf of "foreign food"

PippiBloodyStump · 03/10/2007 21:12

do your kids have italian names?
