Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF. Grin
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them Grin

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

Had a "lovely" night's sleep with tropical temperatures dreaming I was chased by werevolwes Confused Thankfully it's a lower temperature today Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/06/2020 18:37

Sorry to hear about damaged trees and plants Sad

LetUsPrey · 29/06/2020 20:02

Evening wenches.

Another one tired and lacklustre here. Just blaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.

Sad at squished plants. Hope the weather stayed good enough for your walk Fancy.

at your werewolf dream Wicked! Here’s to some better sleep.

Speaking of sleep, I think I need to get to bed earlier than I have been doing. The late nights are turning the slightest thing with DS2 into a bigger deal than it would probably be.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/06/2020 21:02

Evening.

I'm also in need of an early night.

Morning wenches.

Cloudy and dull here. It’s not really supposed to rain so hoping to get out for exercisething at some point, also depending on schoolwork. Due back next week - and I realise I’ve been super fortunate to have the time off I’ve had - so the schoolwork situation will be a bit of a mess. Still, can’t do anything about it so just have to get on with it.

What’s the deal with this weather though? Feels more like October than June.

Excuse me whilst I go and lock myself in the FFS Stop Whining Cupboard.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/06/2020 09:44

Morning.

meh. The weather is also unimpressive here. My early night didn't work either - DS couldn't get to sleep, so I got a series of visits and calls. Then DH came to bed, then DS came in in the early hours, DH didn't sleep well either. We're a family of bloody zombies this morning. Urgh, etc...

Still, at least I don't have to juggle NotWorkingFromHome and childcare/schoolwork. for LetUs

Morning
Back to work today. Very dull here too, but hoping the drizzle may revive some of the squashed plants. Will probably need to go into the office at some time this week, which I'm perfectly ok with, but I don't know which days yet because other people

Evening. Another cold miserable day.

We went to the garden centre to belatedly get some bedding plants. DH is so embarrassing. He trundled off with the trolley making a beeline for the busy lizzies with me racing after him saying 'you have to follow the arrows'. Shock Fortunately there weren't many people in there.

Confused at WW's werewolves.

Grin at Jess Pope.

Anyway, we have planted them and the front garden looks much better.

ApricotCrush · 30/06/2020 18:19

Just move that last sentence up to the bit about the garden centre. Blush

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/06/2020 20:04

LOL at planting wicked's werewolves and Jess Pope in your garden Apricot Grin

It's been fairly miserable here today, but then turned out really nice this evening. Bike ride was done in a T-shirt Shock

Work was busy, so DS got ignored for most of the day.

Evening wenches.

Similar here Helen. Flipping miserable all morning and early afternoon. About 2.30 I went out for a walk —because it was better than completely losing my shit with both DC— and I was surprised how warm it was. Must do the exercisething tomorrow.

Always helpful when you can plan your work travel Fancy pity that you can’t

I love the Adventures of the Apricots Grin and Apricot’s very unusual planting.

Also Grin at Jess Pope’s face swaps.

Not had a particularly great day today, which seems to be a bit of a theme at the moment. Might look into current situation re seeing/speaking to my GP.

Football’s on so I’ve moved upstairs to escape the inevitable bickering, although I’ll still be able to hear it I’ve no doubt.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/06/2020 21:53

Football's also on here. Though at least it's just DH watching (vaguely) so there's no bickering over it.

at nae. Indeed.

DH has told me we're 100 days into lockdown Confused and DS' form tutor phoned today for a 'chat' during which I discovered that they have no plans for online lessons (i.e. no zoom etc) and have no idea what's happening come September, because the government leadership and communication efforts makes a chocolate teapot look efficient and effective. I was a bit Hmm after the event that this is the first non-generic contact we've had from school in 100 days, but then that's probably just an indication that they don't have any particular concerns over how he's getting on. So I suppose that's good really.

Watching Glastonbury and Plup at the moment. Love 'Common People' Grin

Must head for hayloft soon though - not much sleep was had last night

Evening
Am on the Wine - at least that way I won't get in the car, kidnap other people & feed them to my compost bin

That face swap thing is funny Grin Luca & Tom look particularly realistic, not so sure about Santi though

Grin @ MrApricot - makes me feel better for being clueless in shops.

It's bloody chaos isn't it helen? DD will have lost over 20% of teaching time for her A levels by the end of term, but at least she's fairly self sufficient, must be fucking awful in the lower years.

LetUsPrey · 01/07/2020 09:29

Morning wenches.

I’d have been a bit Hmm at that too Helen. Don’t envy the school staff trying to get things back on track for pupils all over the country. DSis was saying friend of hers teaches in a low economic area with most pupils having no access to laptops, etc. She’s delivering printed work to them but is very worried for them. Even before all this you couldn’t have paid me enough to be a teacher.

That kind of “input” to a compost bin would be an interesting experiment Fancy and definitely something to bear in mind.

Need to chivvy up DS2 who went to get dressed about 15 minutes ago.

Also, happy birthday Wicked! CakeWine

Because you don’t have enough to do at the moment/all the time Helen.

so the HBFs have to be there

Did the exercisething this morning. Think I’m progressing. Thankfully though when DH came home he gave me lots of “helpful” advice.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/07/2020 17:20

Phew - thank goodness for MrLetUs being able to give you all the advice Hmm

I like the idea of burning spreadsheets as a summoning ritual for HBFs Grin

Haven't been out on my bike yet, and looking at the clouds, I'm not sure if I want to Confused

Afternoon. Still miserable here with rain showers, but a bit warmer.

Happy Birthday WW, hope you're having a good day.

DGS has been in school all along because of DD's job, though it's been more child-minding than anything. He's still had online lessons at home. I've been very impressed with his school. As well as reception and year 1, they've had year 2 in for a week, year 3 are in this week and year 4, which DGS is in, will be in for the last 2 weeks of term as they, together with 2 other schools in the area are transitioning to the much larger Middle School in September. They have a three-tier system. The school will also be taking year 4 in small groups to Middle School for a couple of hours each to show them the ropes. So instead of moaning about the Government they've used their initiative and just got on with it. Incidentally Gavin Williamson is their MP and he's had nothing to do with this. He knows the system as he lives in the area and has done nothing for the transitioning year 4, or year 8 who will be going to High School, although I suppose he has had the Unions to contend with.

As far as September is concerned DD has spoken to DGS's new teacher who reeled off a list of his close friends and said he'll be with at least one of them in his new class. I think the Government directive at the moment is that they will be segregated into class bubbles so if one of them falls ill only that class will have to isolate, but I this will be difficult for older pupils who will be taking different subjects. Nothing is set in stone as no-one knows what the virus will be doing by then. As said, it's a mess. Confused

Grin at feeding other people to the compost bin.

I hope you've benefitted from the helpful advice LetUs. Hmm

Enjoy your red bull Helen.

LetUsPrey · 01/07/2020 20:05

at “mansplain electricity to the empty lightbulb socket”

I have explained to DH I’m doing the best I can and I am only partway through week 4. Apparently, amongst other things, I should just “run faster”. Fuck me, who knew it was that easy? Perhaps I’ll follow his advice and be the oldest 5K Olympic gold medalist.

Several StarStarStar to DGS’s school Apricot.

I’ve watched some Foyle’s War today. Football now.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/07/2020 20:26

Don't know how I manage without a man explaining things to me Grin

Thanks wenches, I'm celebrating with a glass of rosé. My mum and sis are coming over on Sunday for cake.
