Swagger Inn thread 165 - wenches get --locked-- down with the HBFs (ylt)

Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF.
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

I suggest all wenches lie on a Bali bed each with HBFs with curtains closed to keep cool and for privacy, but enough of a gap to reach for food and drink. Lordy that sounds blissful

Bloody hot here, most unpleasant. FancyCat is being lazier than normal , she does little else but sleep, eat and scratch; ScaredyCat is mostly unbothered but not sunbathing as much as usual - she is spending the time saved butchering wildlife.

Also hot here, though I think maybe not quite as hot as elsewhere? Not sure. Anyway, Stupid and Inconvenient have been melted puddles of cat for most of the day - sprawled out wherever they happened to stop and then refusing to move again. Poor sods, must be hideous for them.

Today's bike ride was at midday which was probably a bit ambitious, but a trip to the Post office was needed and DH needed something from the pharmacy before it shut. There was certainly a breeze though - was biking into it on the way home, which was far too much like hard work.

This evening we did the BBQ thing - what with the dubious forecast for tomorrow. Quite how DH can be so good at cooking, and yet manage to charcoal the meat so badly I'm not sure. I could have re-soled my boot with the burgers. Never mind - I cooked the second batch and they were much less leathery Then we toasted marshmallows

and, more importantly, for Apricot

for everyone.

Oh - and DS was a lot nicer today, so that was good.

I think we have rain due for most of next week too Wicked, and it’ll be cooler so hurrah!

Awwww at puddles of cat. Am wilting at the thought of a bike ride in midday heat Ah yes, if you want to rustle up a tasty batch , hand it to a wench. Also hurrah for a better behaved MiniHelen.

We’re watching The Luminaries. Or at least we’ve been trying to but I’ve been having to pause it as DH was checking football score and reading messages. Anyway, due to said football result, he now has a bit of a face on him.

Stopped raining now I do hope that's not all we're getting - I was rather hoping that the garden would get a good watering!

Am lazing around atm, may do grocery shopping later - the excitement! And then potter round the garden. The weeds are growing exponentially.

Raieed most of the morning. Brightened up just before lunch. DS2 and I did our PE challenge for school, he’s done his schoolwork and been a bit of a ratbag , and I’ve cleaned the bathroom.

The thunder has just started. Oooo it’s very very rumbly!

I googled The Luminaries as it had passed me by. Went to look for it on the iPlayer and found we'd recorded it. We must have seen a trailer, thought that looks good, recorded it and then forgotten about it.

Evening. Bit of rain this morning, on and off, but not vast amounts. Apparently we're due more tomorrow. I shall keep my fingers crossed.

I have been dead-heading roses and lupins in the garden. This isn't as 'wafting about in floaty dress with secateurs' as it sounds, but it was nice being out there after it had cooled down a bit. And Houdini was in the run with the others (As opposed to in the kitchen eating the cats' food, which is where DH found her at lunchtime!)

Work was spreadsheets, DS did alright with schoolwork... Oh, and then whinged his head off doing a bike ride. Still - dragged him off outside.

Evening, have been doing very little really. This evening have been watching Money Heist with DD, and drinking prosecco with elderflower.

I’m recording Beyoncé and have also recorded Elbow. We’re doing another Luminaries, or at least we will once DH stops pissing about upstairs with DS2. We started watching about 40-45 minutes ago - we’re only 30 minutes in

Fucksake when you want it to rain it doesn’t. Had been hoping for some steady rain today so I could avoid the exercisething. Unfortunately the forecast rain has not arrived. Arse. Can’t put it off any longer.

DH has stuck Beyonce on TV again to show me her reaction to the crawd singing, and yes - we were commenting on the heels last night too. Even DS was pronouncing that 'high heels are a torture implement'

I should probably have hit 'post' on this as well... oh well.

No rain here just now - I should probably go outside and tie up the honeysuckle which has fallen down and made using the front door a bit of an adventure...

Rain here - probably not enough to give the ground a real soaking, but enough to make the weeds grow!

I used the homemade cordial letus, was tasty but needed a little experimentation with the proportions.

Took a walk to buy wine but the line outside Systembolaget was ridiculus so I went home again. Dropping with sweat so I took a cold shower right away, glorious. Planning to vacuum later so I probably need another shower soon.
So bloody hot last night so I had to take a pill to be able to sleep. It's not windy at all in the evenings so keeping the windows open doesn't help. Really looking forward to next week.
