Swagger Inn thread 165 - wenches get --locked-- down with the HBFs (ylt)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2020 11:33

Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF. Grin
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them Grin

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

Afternoon.

The DC and DGC came round this afternoon to see DH we probably had too many in the garden and we'd just had a cuppa when the heavens opened and we had to try to socially distance under the canopy and umbrella. Confused

It's forceast to be hot next week here WW , but not quite that hot.

Have a good evening wenches. Wine

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 21/06/2020 20:15

Am impressed with your PE efforts LetUs - I've done no exercise this weekend, and we've just stuffed our faces so I'm stuffed full of food and not moving anywhere for the forseeable.

That's typical re. the rain apricot

Confused Wicked - that's toooooooooo hot Alternatively, that's just the right temperature for lying on a lounger and having HBFs wait on you, hand and foot. Seeing as it's very hot, they won't want to wear many clothes either.

Hope that Fancy has had a nice afternoon with FancyMan

I have a headache and will be heading for the hayloft shortly. Fecking headaches Sad

When I first read “we probably had too many in the garden” Apricot, I thought you meant drinks Grin

I have to keep going with the exercise Helen or by the time I have to put my work clothes back on, nothing will fit. Mind you, if your idea that wenches won’t need many clothes because of the HBFs and the heat and the HBFs, then I’ll be able to exercise in an entirely different way Grin

Hope the headache subsides soon.

We’re watching The Luminaries which has started on BBC1 tonight. It’s all a bit jumpy between past and present in the story so I’m having to really concentrate.

LetUsPrey · 21/06/2020 23:47

Enjoyed The Luminaries.

Off to the hayloft to celebrate Brandon’s birthday with him. Probably best not to light any candles given the location so we’re going straight to gift unwrapping.

LetUsPrey · 22/06/2020 09:25

Morning wenches.

How’s the headache Helen? Hopefully buggered off.

Need to get DS2 going with his schoolwork which I’m hoping he can do on his own so I can do the exercisething. I’m not sure that will happen, having looked at the work, but he’ll give it his best.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/06/2020 10:34

Headache still lingering Angry Sad DH says I shouldn't be looking at a screen, but it distracts me from the headache, so... though it would be an excuse to go back to bed.

I forgot about Luminaries - don't think I was in any fit state for concentrating last night though Grin

At least it's lovely and sunny - I put sunglasses on to do the chickens this morning. (though that was headache related as much as anything).

ApricotCrush · 22/06/2020 17:41

Afternoon. Nice day here.

Oh dear Helen, you do get a lot of headaches. Hope it's gone now.

I'm going to Sainsbury's after our meal. SIL says it's quiet after 7.30ish. I'm fed up of getting stuff almost on its date, ripe bananas, no ice-cream, no sausages, squashed bread etc. Bit nervous because I have no idea how it works now. Oh well, I've got to go some time. Hmm

LetUsPrey · 22/06/2020 17:42

Evening wenches.

Schoolwork was pretty much rubbish, despite DS2 trying. Over two hours and not even half of one lot done. It’s stressing him and it’s stressing me. I’ve emailed school and explained why the way we were doing stuff before was better for DS2. All work was done in plenty of time, not completely stress free but not like it currently is. I’d asked to change back before and they said no. Anyway, they’ve agreed now which is a relief.

Not as warm as I was expecting it to be today. Did the exercisething and I think it’s getting easier.

I thought that said you’d put sunglasses on the chickens Helen Grin. I’m getting quite hard of reading these days. Hope you’re feeling better than you were.

LetUsPrey · 22/06/2020 17:47

LovelyMIL (who admittedly is a lot older than you Apricot) said her local Sainsbury’s is a lot quieter in the evenings too. She said it was a bit strange at first. Mind you, we’ve got arrows on the floor at our local Asda and I’ve almost gone the wrong way once or twice. You’ll be absolutely fine and hopefully - if the alcohol section is at the end like in ours - there’ll be a bottle of your wine waiting for you like a prize!

FancyFancy · 22/06/2020 20:38

Evening
Hope the headache has buggered off helen? I had a lovely afternoon with FancyMan thank you. Got rid of a cobweb or two

It has been very nice & sunny here, which is the cue for bonfire wanker to spring into action FFAS, I'm sat here with all the windows at teh back house of the shut.

Yay for school agreeing to the change letus

I regularly get it all wrong at the supermarket apricot, so I wouldn't worry too much. Every place seems to do it differently & it can change from week to week. Frankly most of us don't know what we're doing Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/06/2020 20:46

Evening. Hope that Sainsburys was -fully stocked with wine-- ok Apricot. Last time I was in Tesco lots of people seemed to be completely ignoring the one way system Hmm

Headache is mostly gone - a bit niggly still, but meh. LOL at putting the sunglasses on the chicken Grin Did watch half of Small Island today, which was good, though DS was unimpressed and sloped off after half an hour. Uncultured child.

Have just rescued a wren from InconvenientCat Sad I'm not sure if it will survive - there's no blood but it's in shock. It's currently sitting out of reach on the bird table. Or not. Bird tab;e just got a visit from a pigeon and we've no idea if the wren flew of or fell off. Ho hum...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 22/06/2020 21:10

Good that you got some dusting done Fancy

Don’t suppose bonfire wanker is within hosepipe reach is he? Dick.

Bloody hell, forgotten about Small Island. I’ll try to watch some tomorrow. Good that you got MiniHelen to do half an hour!

Poor wren (potentially) Sad What with BigDaddyBossSwan hogging the lakes, and baby crows preventing lawn mowing, and pigeons divebombing bird tables and frightening shocked wrens, wenches have got all the ingredients for a LocalWildlifeDocumentary. I know someone who’s got experience of narrating wildlife documentaries. I’ll be in the recording booth with him, making sure he doesn’t miss anything

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 22/06/2020 21:19

Crap day Sad Stressing out over work atm, it's too bloody hot and I have chronic PMS apparently. Hope tomorrow will be better.

Bought another fan the other day, when I unpacked it the day after half the bloody fan was missing, and they were all out at the store. It's not fair! Angry

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/06/2020 21:24

I think that Apricot and I can rustle up some ducklings in peril... InconvenientCat can double as a Puma Grin I think the recording booth should be soundproofed, so have fun in there... (I was going to post the gif from Titanic - the hand against the glass, but actually, out of context, it just looks like someone's been murdered Confused So maybe not.)

Missed Fancy's post - I obviously took far too long to type mine Grin Good to know that the cobwebs got blown away but FFS at BonfireWanker

Also - yes - good news about miniLetUs' school actually listening to you about what's working for him (eventually - better late than never etc).

Swagger Inn thread 165 - wenches get --locked-- down with the HBFs (ylt)
OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 22/06/2020 21:44

Yep, soundproofing very important for errr various reasons

at ducklings in peril and InconvenientCatAsPuma.

Oh that all sounds horrible Wicked Sad WTFAF at half a fan missing?! Angry at the shop with you. Have some more 🍫

I’m already in the hayloft.

FancyFancy · 22/06/2020 22:33

Sounds like you need Wine too ww

Sadly BonfireWanker is out of hose-reach. I bet it's the wankers who fly-tipped their grass cuttings over the back of their fence onto the railway land recently. Wankers.

Arrrgggghhhh letus THE TINY FLUFFY DUCKLING Shock I'm triggered, as the yoof would say. Send soothing hbfs immediately

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/06/2020 23:28

You'd best lie down and recover Fancy Grin

FFS Wicked - that's useless re. the fan.

Hayloft....

FancyFancy · 22/06/2020 23:40
Shock Christ on a bike, I'll never get to sleep now
LetUsPrey · 23/06/2020 08:25

Morning wenches

Surely the overheating wasn’t the main cause of you not getting any sleep Fancy Grin

Expecting lovely weather today so I’m hoping DS2 will behave re schoolwork and then we can go outside.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/06/2020 09:44

Morning. What a lovely idea LetUs - or do you have to drag him outside by the scruff of his neck to get him outside, and then discover that he's still plugged into phone/switch etc?
I think that it''s meant to be mid-high 20's here this afternoon.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 23/06/2020 10:37

He’s usually quite keen to be outside Helen, especially when it comes to schoolwork Grin. I’d say devices come first with outside a close second.

Mind you, I feel I’ve been lied to as far as the weather is concerned. It’s quite cloudy and not particularly warm. I’ve put shorts on for goodness sake! Where’s the sun? perhaps it’s scared

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/06/2020 11:47

We have sun - suggest you get yourselves over here...

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 23/06/2020 13:28

Sunshine still being a bit shy here

DS2’s English should - according to the teacher - have taken one hour. He’s finished it today (more or less) and I would say it took over four hours in total over two days and for one answer he put that he didn’t know. I tried to help but got a load of attitude so left him to it.

Suppose I should do something about lunch.

LetUsPrey · 23/06/2020 17:11

Sun’s out! On a lounger listening to Cadfael.

ApricotCrush · 23/06/2020 18:02

Afternoon. Sunny here too and I've been on a lounger this afternoon. Smile Poor DH has gone to sort the macerator out at DS's. He's been gone all day. Shock

Sainsbury's was fine. DH came with me but I told him not to come in as it takes me twice as long when he's with me. Hmm He insisted I wear a mask and kept peering through the window to make sure I was still wearing it. I was the only one in one and felt a right twit and couldn't fucking breathe. Confused Anyway, as you said LetUs there was wine waiting for me at the end.

Yay for MiniLetUs's school agreeing to change back. Hope wren was alright, WW has had a better day and no more bonfires for Fancy.
