SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/05/2020 11:33

Lockdown rolls on, so we're staying in and isolating with the FAF. Grin
The bar is stocked, the floor has been mopped, the tables have been wiped, and the HBFs are however you want them Grin

(We're also doing lots of washing and gardening.)

Afternoon. Wow WW. It's 24 here. Not complaining.

Well, I put the two parcels out this morning on the off chance, kept checking them, went to get them in to take them to the shop and they'd gone! The receipts were under the mat as arranged with nice local courier so he's back. I think I was right, he's probably had the virus or been isolating and they didn't cover for him. Anyway all's well that ends well.

In more exciting news Hmm DH has gone to play golf with DS which is nice for them and me. Four hours without waiting to be called or being told in great detail what he's going to do / is doing / has done. Yes, they're all the same. Confused

Hope Fancy has enjoyed her walk.

LetUsPrey · 01/06/2020 19:10

Evening wenches.

Work was super busy and I had to go extra fast at the end to get everything done because I didn’t want to leave loads of crap for anyone else to deal with whilst I’m furloughed.

Shock at bonkers dreams. And at 27° with Wicked!

Hope homework and shopping and walking went well. DS2’s schoolwork all came through today. Such fun.

That’s good that your parcels were collected Apricot. Took mine to the post office near work. Had to pay to return so I don’t think I’ll be ordering from House of Fraser again in a hurry.

Also hurrah for you getting peace whilst MrApricot was out golfing. What is this need for I’m going to do this/I’m doing this/I’ve done this? Are they wanting an award of some kind? Stop it. Unless it’s an HBF of course who wants to say what they’re going to do and what they’re doing. That’s absolutely more than fine.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 01/06/2020 20:35

Evening.

I'm really rather knackered and lacking in original thoughts. Can I just stick with 'What LetUs said'?

I need an early night and lots of sleep. Unfortunately I washed all the bedding today so I can't just fall into bed.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/06/2020 21:09

Watched Poirot, Death on the Nile today. Then I read that Kenneth Branagh is filming a new version, which I won't be watching. Can't stand that stupid moustache.

LetUsPrey · 01/06/2020 22:00

That is a shit feeling when you’re really tired but realise you stripped the bed and haven’t remade it. Then you make the bed annnnnd then you’re awake.

I think I managed 20-30 minutes of KB’s Murder On The Orient Express. Might give it another go and try to ignore the moustache.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 01/06/2020 22:06

20 minutes for me I think.

FancyFancy · 01/06/2020 23:13

That is a most annoying situation helen

Yay for parcel collection and golf apricot, I hope you spent your free time wisely - lounging around watching hbfs Grin

Boo to the heat ww

2020 vinatge elderflower cordial is in production - FancyMan & I were very industrious on our walk. Just as well really, seeing as that's about all we're legally allowed to do, as enshrined in law today His street has already seen people dobbing each other in to the police during lockdown.

LetUsPrey · 01/06/2020 23:30

It wasn’t great was it Wicked?

Ooooo for the elderflower cordial Fancy! Hmmm at FancyMan’s neighbours.

If anywench likes being nosy about people’s houses and design and stuff, there’s a programme called Scotland’s Home of the Year that I’ve been watching. It’s on BBC Scotland and iPlayer. It’s the second series and I didn’t see the first series but it’s interesting and lovely - and only 30 minutes.

LetUsPrey · 02/06/2020 07:54

Morning wenches. Sunny again, although rain forecast tomorrow.

Today I am going to restart my Couch 25K. I’ll have to go back to the beginning but it’s a start.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/06/2020 08:20

Morning. Weather as per...

I think if you get into any truoble Fancy - you can just say that you were using your instincts as a parent that should cover you. I'm going to have to investigate this new law so we can invent creative work-arounds. Are you ok if you just stick to your back garden?

I need to pick elderflowers too - we've just about got enough of them out now. Need to check for citric acid though. We usually have some in stock for DH's home-brew.

LOL at Kenneth Branagh's distracting moustache.

I have a new freelance job with a new stupid deadline, so I must crack on... even if I have no enthusiasm for anything but lying about doing HBFs nothing.

Afternoon.

Am currently on an online course. FancyCat is getting in the way. The speaker is one of the best one's from the firm we use, but even he's struggling to liven up a remote course, in person he's quite entertaining.

ApricotCrush · 02/06/2020 17:08

Afternoon. Still hot here, but also rain forecast for tomorrow.

DH made some more of his broccoli, potato, onion etc. soup this morning.

Me: Is there anything I can do to help?
DH: No, no, I want to do it myself.
Five minues later:
DH: I've forgotten how to put the hob on.

Me: Grin

I took one look at Kenneth Branagh's Poirot moustache and decided I'd give it a miss. Hmm

Hope everyone's had a good day.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/06/2020 19:23

at forgotten how to put the hob on

Do you have some incredible space-age hob Apricot?

Sad and [yawn] for online courses.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 02/06/2020 20:17

Evening wenches.

Am GrinGrin at MrApricot and the hob, and also at thespian caterpillar.

Hope the freelance job progressed at pace Helen.

I can imagine even an interesting speaker would struggle to make an online course less yawny.

I did start my C25K today. I hammered the inhaler a bit when I was doing it but I remember that that improved over the weeks so I’m hoping for similar this time.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/06/2020 20:27

First Strike preview online at twitter.com/tottenhamstrike/status/1267727701621837826
all 3 seconds of it. Hmm Grin

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 02/06/2020 21:22

I think it has it's own agent Helen Hmm

LetUsPrey · 02/06/2020 22:58

That’s quite brief Helen. Not something that’s ever been said in the Tav.

Grin Wicked

I have a headache and need to get to the hayloft.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/06/2020 23:53

Short and to the point LetUs? I'll send Dr Aramis etc to give you a soothing head massage. Or whatever takes your fancy

Grin wicked - I think it needs one, it looks like it could leap off his face at any moment and take up its own career (and munch its way through one apple, two pears, three plums etc)

Must go to bed, though have had a productive freelancing night, so that's good.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 02/06/2020 23:54

PS - hurrah for running LetUs - I'm rubbish at running because my knees are wrecked. I'll have to stick to my bike...

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/06/2020 08:12

Morning. I hear mutterings about rain coming in, so I've put all the throws in the wash and have watered the plants. It's bound to rain now... Grin

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 03/06/2020 08:25

Morning wenches. It is weeing it down here.

Well done on the productive freelancing Helen.

Headache’s gone but crikey I’m tired so supervising schoolwork will go well.

There’s a lot more walking than running at this stage but I’ll get there.

FancyFancy · 03/06/2020 09:23

Morning.
Grin ww

Can you send some of it here please Letus? We've had a few drops maximum. Just enough to mix with all the dust on surfaces and make everything look dirty.

ApricotCrush · 03/06/2020 17:26

Afternoon. Rain on and off here, but mostly on. DH has been on the look-out for the skip that neighbour ordered all day. It hasn't arrived.

Remember those two parcels that were late being picked up? I've had an email from Hermes saying there's something wrong with their system and they will be delayed. I would far rather go to the post office but I'm scared everyone will be breathing virus everywhere. Shock

The hob is a black ceramic touch control thingy Helen. He couldn't find the part that switches it on and I suppose there is a bit of a knack to it.

Nice to see the Strike teaser, wonder when it's on. Hmm

Grin at thespian caterpillar with its own agent.

LetUsPrey · 03/06/2020 19:17

Evening wenches.

We had quite a bit today and it’s a lot cooler. You can keep dancing though Fancy

Oh bloody hell Apricot, how frustrating.

We have a hob like that —took me a little while to remember how to use it—

Today I’ve done an NHS strength and flexibility podcast, the ironing, and then PE with Joe Wicks. I also had more upset from DS2 about schoolwork. All his confidence he gained over the last few weeks seems to have vanished and we’re back to “I can’t do anything”, “I’m stupid”, etc and many tears. All today’s work was done in the end and he’s done it really well too. It’s like if he sees the work and thinks it’s tricky, then his brain goes nope can’t do it and that’s it. I’m knackered.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 03/06/2020 20:46

Evening all. I have had a tedious day of spreadsheets and calcuations and balancing books.
Wine all round.

That sounds like a productive day in the end the LetUs - if a bit stressful with the schoolwork Sad

FFS at Apricot's courier and skip annoyance.

I though that Strike was expected in September, but I have no idea where I came up with that.

Did the rain dance work Fancy? it's well gloomy here but no actual rain forecast until Friday.
