I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

Hello. Hope Squonk's DS is doing ok.

We went to Twins Club in Southampton this morning. It was great, so MANY twins and one set of triplets too. However DS had a meltdown halfway through and started begging for Blankie (who was at home). Once the food came out he perked up and was fine after that. I think he was tired and overwhelmed. He passed out in the car on the way back and is now sitting watching Toy Story on DVD (early Christmas pressie...).

How is everyone else today? I now have a heavy cold. Just glad it is this week not next week. Hoping DS will still have a nap after sleeping in car as I am desperate today!

Egg · 19/12/2007 13:01

Sorry, should have actually read Squonk's post properly before posting myself...

DS has only got one more half day at nursery (tomorrow) and then he starts full days in New Year. He will be doing two full days. I would consider three, but, without wanting to talk cash too much, it is BLOODY EXPENSIVE and as I have no income and we have a lot of outgoings (like needing new car etc...) we can't afford it really.

DS also has nursery Christmas party tomorrow and we are asked to bring food. I told them I am a hopeless cook, they said it was prob best for me to pop to M&S rather than poison everyone!

SquonkaClaus · 19/12/2007 14:50

lol!

ds still ok, am about to cook mince pies.

egg - I thought that you had said somewhere about him going for full days, now you say it's in the new year, I remember

Has he slept this afternoon?

where's marmite and fred?

marmite - you have scrabblemail

egg - did twins club give you any invaluable advice that you don't already know? Are you a bit happier about coping when they arrive?

marmitemad · 19/12/2007 15:28

briefly popping in as I am really really busy today.

carol service was lovely, all the children came in holding candles and dd seemed to enjoy the singing only dodgy bit was at the end when vicar was saying prayers and dd decided to join in , cue dummy input and lots of shushing from me .

Thanks for your Christmas card, Egg, you might get one if I manage to find time tonight . Glad you enjoyed twins club.

Oooh a new scrabulous game, will look forward to logging on at tonight as Facebook is banned at work.

Hello from Eggland. My cold has come out with a passion, I feel shite, but somehow still in a good mood as looking forward to DS's nursery party in an hour or so.

Marmite, LOL at DD joining in the prayers! DS is going to Church for the first time on Monday, but it is thankfully a service especially for children, as I know he will be shouting all the way through. My sister and kids are here then so we are all going, as well as my parents too. I am EXCITED despite hating Church when I was young as I had to go every Sunday without fail.

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 10:26

aww, marmite, that sounds so cute

egg - you off to midnight mass then? oo errr!

Well, I waited in all day for the courier to come. He didn't. Have emailed and they said that he will be here today.

Have done a note to stick on the door when I take dd2 to nursery saying "pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease wait for me"

Mince pies came out fab, did some jam tarts as well. Am very pleased with my little self

egg - poor you with cold. There's not much you can take for it, is there [sympathetic patting of shoulder]

Egg · 20/12/2007 11:01

I hate waiting for deliveries that don't arrive. Still waiting for a few things befor Christmas, but nothing VITAL. Have arranged date for my John Lewis nursery stuff to come, (second cot etc) on 10 Jan. Woohoooo.

Got to get my ar*e in gear and get ready to get DS and PARTY. I am in my Christmas party clothes but look like all the nursery staff as they are all dressed in black trousers or skirts and red tops, just like me . I look fab though, of course . If only DS hadn't broken the £250 digital camera I would get some pics...

Squonk impressed with your baking. I have bought some cocktail sausages, cheese straws and mini animal biscuits from M&S (all things DS loves, so healthy as well .

What time is DD2's party?

I love Jam Tarts. I forgot they existed!

Egg · 20/12/2007 11:02

Oh, no not midnight mass as if I would be UP AT THAT TIME! We are going to the 4pm carol service. Perfect timing as can come back for cake and biscuits and tea etc afterwards.

Just sneezed all over computer [bleurgh emoticon].

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 11:03

tis not a delivery - it's a collection. It is mum's christmas present. I got her a set of mugs each with one of he grandchildren's photo on it, and some perfume

anyway, she won't get it till after christmas now.

Dd2's party is at 1. She is refusing to wear her party clothes. (unlike ds, who is just refusing to wear clothes!)

I was impressed with my baking as well, that's why I told you how fab they were - they don't normally turn out well at all!

And I am guessing that the heavily pregnant with twins belly will set you apart from the nursery staff

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 11:04

oi! don't give us your cold!

Egg · 20/12/2007 11:04

Final post (for now!), Squonk I keep meaning to ask, as you are my "oldest" friend on here (by old I mean long term, not OLD as such, as you are a spring chicken of course), could I ask you to do the honour of posting my birth announcement on the Feb thread and multiples thread for me? And on here of course, but I will ensure you, marmite and Fred are on my text list.

The multiples one always begins with "D'ya ever...", if you go to multiples section it is always at the top of the list.

Not that I am planning on giving birth in 2007 I hasten to add...

Egg · 20/12/2007 11:06

Ahhh, DS actually put on his lovely red top this morning willingly. He is wearing his fave purple t-shirt underneath though. He has red socks and red trainers too (those lovely ones from Clarks that have red flashing soles). He looks FAB.

My niece (now 8) refused to wear anything other than boy's clothes from the age of 2...

marmitemad · 20/12/2007 11:28

oh no I missed eveyrone this morning, am frantically running round the house trying to pack for dd's first overnight at Nana's and our overnight at MILs (we are going to see War of the Worlds in Brighton tonight).

we are going to a childrens service on Christmas eve at 4pm as well with friends from baby group, really looking forward to it as have always wanted to go but can't stay up late enough for midnight mass.

Hope all the dc's (and mums ) enjoy the parties today.

very of the baking, I love baking but am not doing mine until Sunday.

hope the colds improve soon, I am a bit sneezy and dh has man flu (asked me this morning if we had any medicine, so he must be feeling rough!)

Egg - thinking about birth announcements suddenly makes me realise that its not that far away for you now, really hope we can get down to see you all sometime next year.

OP posts:
SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 11:33

egg - yes.

I would be honoured

Do you want me to post ALL the information that you give me, or do you want me to just tell everyone that Nemo & Dory are here and let you tell the actual birth story?

And will you want me to tell names?

Have never done a birth announcement before, I am SO pleased that you asked me.

Going to go in the other room and smile for a bit

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 11:33

(and I think I am the oldest oldest as well )

Egg · 20/12/2007 13:55

hehe.

Am back. Party was EXCELLENT. DS had the time of his life. He danced and danced. He ate and ate. He grinned and grinned. He flirted outrageously.

Squonk, for the birth announcement, I reckon if you do a post on here, Feb thread and Multiples thread, and give any info you have from the text (ie names, weight etc), then I will do the actual post on "Birth Announcements" when I get back, so I can tell all gory details, as wont be able to put all that in text anyway! But anything I tell you can go on the posts you type, nothing is secret!

I have officially 6 weeks and 2 days to go. Average gestation for twins is (I think) 36 weeks though. There are plenty who have managed longer, but also many who have gone a lot earlier.

Marmite, have a lovely evening tonight (I think you might already be signed out til you get back though). Hope the show is excellent and DD enjoys her overnight stay.

Squonk hope your party was as good as ours (we got given a huge long box of chocolate buttons from Santa at the end, DS didn't see though so I had better eat them as he has eaten so many cakes and biscuits this week...).

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 15:01

am still smiling

dd2 at her party now. She has gone wearing her party skirt and her top with a pink bow on it so I'll let you know if she enjoyed herself.

The courier finally turned up to get mum's present!

marmite - am of your hectic social whirl - hope you enjoy show tonight.

oops, can hear ds shouting, better go....

Egg · 20/12/2007 15:08

Ah bless her...

Glad courier has arrived. The bugger.

Enjoying listening to crap Christmas songs. Really helps get you in the mood.

DH thinks he might have my cold. This is NOT good news. He is so bad at being ill. And I wont be able to hide in spare room as his bro is coming this weekend. NO ESCAPE from the man flu.

Dropdeadfred · 20/12/2007 15:13

Hi girls..I'm sorry for not being on much lately. A combination of christmas shopping, wedding planning and NTL losing broadband in this area for 36 hrs the other day!!
DD had her playgroup christmas party yesterday (it made up for her missing the nursery one at least) she looked so sweet collecting her present and eating party food on a little table..

Squonk I owe you an apology, I sent your card yesterday and in a mad memory loss moment had to sign it to your littlies as could not remember A and O's names... Sorry!

I am hoping to get myself an early chrimbo pressie of a new mobile...a nice Walkman phone I think...then I can listen to music whilst dd sleeps in her zapp on the train/bus.
Oh girls, I had her in her zapp the other day all snug as a bug in her footmuff! She looked so cute and wouldn't get out! She kept saying 'zip me up, zip me up!'
I must try and get a photo...

Egg I am getting so excited on your behalf...only weeks to go!!!!

What have all of you bought for your littlies this Christmas, between us me and Dp seem to have gone very OTT..no doubt dd1 and dd2 will be jealous....

Egg · 20/12/2007 15:21

Fred! Glad you are back with us again. I seem to have days when I am hardly on computer and days when it is on all day... All depends on DS and me sleeping.

DS also loves to be zipped up, he has a snuggle sac (sleeping bag thing that lives inside a kiddies soft chair and then comes out so you can take it for sleepovers etc, and he loves to be zipped into it. He shouts "more more".

Quite annoyed as I ordered a cheese knife set, and a separate cheese board the other day, as have nothing even slightly appropriate for when everyone is here next week, and today they arrived, but the knife set comes with a board too, so I don't need the other bloody board, so now I have to return it and I CAN'T BE ARSED.

Off to blow my nose again...

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 15:22

fred - no apology necessary. I could only remember two out of your three, so your card is addressed to fred and family

I decided that it would be cheaper to buy the kids' prezzies one at a time from about August. So.... we didn't actually notice the expense of Christmas, but they seem to have SO MUCH STUFF. And I kept seeing things and thinking that one of the kids would like it, so I bought it, and then I had to buy two more presents for the others and next year I'm leaving it all till Christmas eve as usual!

About to go and get dd2 - hope she's had a lovely time.

I was going to get ds a footmuff for his zapp, but I know that he will kick it off so I'm saving my money.

Egg · 20/12/2007 15:28

DS has not got TOO much stuff really, from us, but with everything he will get from family etc he will be overloaded. He keeps asking for various bears we see in shops, but he has so many soft toys I have to say no. But they are so CUTE. He has basically got his car, three books and two DVDs from us for Christmas. Probably spent £50 max in total, maybe less, which I think is quite an achievement...

Did I tell you he napped from 2:30pm to 5pm (I was feeling shite so went to bed, couldn't sleep for ages, and finally fell asleep just when I was going to wake him, and woke at 4:55 and he was still passed out!), anyway, he still happily went to bed at 7:30 and slept til 8 this morning. I think he is finding Christmas quite tiring.

Fred, I could remember all your DDs names, but was unsure of spelling of DD2, and as you had said "...and girls" in your email, I just sent it as you said. Hope they were not offended!

What have you both got for your older DDs? What kind of things do teenagers get these days?

SquonkaClaus · 20/12/2007 15:48

just a quickie - dd2 LOVED the party. It was her first ever party so I didn't know how she would react, but she was like this

Father christmas came! He gave her a present! There were crisps to eat! There was cake! There were chocolate fingers! (I had to ask about the mince pies - nobody ate them) Everyone had their nice clothes on!

awwwww

Dropdeadfred · 20/12/2007 15:56

OMG !! my brother just told me he has bought dd this for Christmas!!!

Dd1 has a digital camera and dd2 has a walkman phone...

DD has plus all the extras!

Dropdeadfred · 20/12/2007 15:58

Egg, thank you, I got your card today...lots of friends just put the girls as it's a bit of a minefield remembering the spellings!!!

Squonk, it is lovely seeing them interact at Nursery parties isn't it? Sooo cute. I can just see your dd2 all dressed up...
