I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

DS wasn't in it at the time, I hasten to add

I've had to put it in the car still up a few times (not easy with a tiny Polo!)

SquonkaClaus · 18/12/2007 09:38

hmm.... it does kind of defeat the object of getting a buggy that is the smallest folding one on the market!

Egg · 18/12/2007 12:16

Hello to SM and LL (and to other regular Zappatas too [fmsile]).

LL - yes indeed twins . Only a few weeks to go (due on 2 Feb). I was sure you knew, I tend to brag about it quite a lot to make up for the fact i am sh*tting myself...

Now, as for Winchester, do you remember a looooong time ago, I started a thread asking about good and bad areas of Winchester, and about the commute etc, and you were really helpful with advice. I had a different name then (think I was BigEggLittleEgg or maybe just LittleEgg). We have only been here since August but are loving it. Didn't you used to live here? Whereabouts is your DH from in Winchester? We are in Hyde. I seem to remember I am following you around as you lived in Putney too???

Squonk glad DS is better today. My DS is in the good books today as he was quiet for a solid 12 hours last night and didn't wake til 7:40 this morning (he did get out of bed once just after going to bed last night, but after that he was an angel). So then I begged nursery to take him for a full day today so I can get some stuff done, but I felt so shite in town and had to go into Starbucks to sit down and refuel, and so have done nothing much.

I did spend £88 in Boots and got it ALL on my Boots card though [smug emoticon].

LL - have not experienced any probs as such with Zapp, but do struggle to unfold it mainly as I am FAT, and it is not the easiest. Seem to recall someone saying they could do it with one hand. I have to use both hands and one foot every time (have to kind of put it on its side and push the metal bits with foot to click it into place). Must be honest I do get a bit peed off with it. DS still loves it though.

Sorry for the novel .

SquonkaClaus · 18/12/2007 12:19

egg - so glad your ds slept last night! about time

Squonk's orders are "GO TO BED" set an alarm for half an hour before you need to get ds, and just stay in bed, take up some sandwiches and maybe a flask just in case you are awake, take a book or some magazines and just stay in bed.

Laze the day away.

Tis a squonkstruction

Egg · 18/12/2007 12:29

LOL Squonk . I am definitely going to lie down for a while, but if i do sleep it tends to stop me sleeping even MORE at night, so I will aim not to sleep too long.

Forgot to tell DS I was not getting him at lunch... I guess he will realise when they put him in his sleeping bag .

Egg · 18/12/2007 13:06

Hey Squonk, forgot to tell you, that thread you directed me to the other day with some twins things for sale was a success. I am getting lots of girly baby clothes for Dory from the lovely lady who is selling. She lives close to my parents so can drop them off end of the week and then they can bring them down to me on Monday. Hurrah.

So thank you...

SquonkaClaus · 18/12/2007 13:10

oh, brilliant!

glad I could be of some service

marmitemad · 18/12/2007 13:14

glad everyones feeling a bit better today.

dd slept the whole night as well (7pm-7am) although I did give her ashtons & parsons after being reminded of its powers at baby clinic yesterday .

Egg - hope you are enjoying a relaxing afternoon in bed???

OP posts:
Egg · 18/12/2007 13:20

Not in bed yet...

Just eating a couple of marmite sandwiches and then got to wrap a few small pressies, then going to watch Doctors whilst lying on sofa, then maybe some BED.

Is it wrong to have the butter as thick as the bread in a sandwich?

Marmite glad DD slept well last night too. Even though I woke a few times and felt really coldy and crap, I was never awake more than half an hour and sleeping in the spare room meant I could get more comfy and not worry about DH getting in the way!

SquonkaClaus · 18/12/2007 13:24

yaay, marmite's about

marmitemad · 18/12/2007 13:28

mmmmmmm butter and marmite sandwiches, make sure you have a couple for me. Glad you are resting up even if you're not in bed.

Is doctors any good at the moment and are you missing neighbours very much? I used to watch both every day when I wasn't at work .

I like these new festive smileys, just have to remember to use them instead of the normal ones.

MIL rang me this morning to ask if she could get herself a buggy, Mamas & Papas are doing their nippi buggy on special offer at £49 down from £89. she wanted to get the changing bag, parasol and foot muff as well although I managed to talk her out of that one as they were very expensive although cute.

OP posts:
marmitemad · 18/12/2007 13:29

must do some work really..............

OP posts:
Egg · 18/12/2007 13:35

Presume MIL means a buggy for when she has your DD, not for herself!?!??! It is very easy to get carried away with all the accessories. I know from experience....

In fact, although necessary, I am now in possession of one twin buggy, two car seats, two raincovers for the car seats, one raincover for the buggy as a whole, two footmuffs for car seats / buggy seats, a new changing bag (last one has a broken strap for front pocket so nothing is secure, it is also CRAP).

I must admit, I hate M&P. They do nice stuff, but their customer service is shite. My changing bag was from them, and broke within the first year. I ordered a changing mat from Boots last week which was M&P, did not read description properly as it arrived at weekend and was not even WIPE CLEAN!?!??! Why oh why? There was a removable insert bit which was towelling, but the whole thing was covered in towelling as well, and was not removable. DS used to wee and projectile poo all over his changing mat (wanted a second one so have one up and one down). I have returned it.

SquonkaClaus · 18/12/2007 13:37

the whole point of a changing mat is that you can clean it easily, surely!

If not, you may as well lay the baby on the settee and hope for the best

marmitemad · 18/12/2007 13:58

yes buggy is for dd and the new babies due next year although MIL might have an ulterior motive for herself .

hopefully we will not need any customer service from M & P although it does come with a 2 year guarantee.

We have a wipe clean winnie the pooh mat from mothercare which came with a towelling insert and we used to swap this for a blanket as we had loads as gifts, but we soon got fed up of the washing and now put a disposable change mat on top as it sometimes feels a bit chilly.

LL - zapp woes o dear i hate my zapp only use it for travelling, so few weeks a year on/off holiday, cant be friends with the damn thing at all.but that is another thread

Egg how are your double yokers doing- cooking away nicely

Egg · 18/12/2007 14:36

We change DS on the floor now, and don't use anything unless he has had a poo as he never wees on us and would not dream of pooing while we are changing his nappy. If he has had a poo we use one of those pampers mats too.

SM, the double yolkers are doing well apparently, despite me feeling shite! They seem to be growing nicely (just measured my belly round the biggest bit, it is now 41 inches, so has grown 1.5 inches in two weeks I think). Both are head down, and the girl has her head 3/5 engaged getting ready to come out!

SquonkaClaus · 18/12/2007 15:07

egg - have they given you any indication of when things are likely to happen? I know that you said before that you are not expected to go to 40 weeks, but when?????

Egg · 18/12/2007 15:40

Oh god I keep reading of ladies who went PAST 40 weeks. I initially hoped I would be about 37/38 weeks and I guess I still do. Just that it seems ages away. No indication that anything will happen soon, Dory's head being engaged does not mean she is about to push her way out apparently. So, I suppose mid Jan is what will expect, but I might still be pregnant at the END of Jan .

My very very enormous Tesco order just arrived. I thought I booked it for tomorrow. Lucky I was here. I had just gone to lie down when the doorbell rang. Still unloading. I took potluck with a few items and hoped they would be ok til Christmas. It looks as though I will be drinking cream every day this week instead...

SquonkaClaus · 18/12/2007 15:55

well, cream's gotta be good for you

our HUGE tesco delivery comes on Saturday. It was fairly large, but I keep adding to it. dp will say "you did order ham didn't you?" and I'll say "of course I did, darling... just off to um.. check email!"

so it's getting larger and larger by the day. If I keep this up, I will have my own tescos truck, instead of having Tesco - every little helps on the side it will say "squonk - a greedy bstrd!"

SquonkaClaus · 18/12/2007 15:56

(that was supposed to have two of these * not ST in bold)

Egg · 18/12/2007 16:11

ROFL!

Mine was also added to five times before it arrived. I thought it was coming tomorrow, and was thinking of adding some more. He said mine was the biggest order he has seen for a while [smug emoticon].

However, I wanted to get it delivered on Sat but didn't book in time so am of you.

Got to go and get DS soon. I could leave him til 6pm but I think that would be plain cruel as I have sat around all day on MN!

SquonkaClaus · 18/12/2007 17:23

egg - hope you've had a nice, steady, relaxing day.

MN is great for that

ds had a relapse

Egg · 18/12/2007 17:49

Oh no poor DS, what has happened? Is he ok?

My DS seems to have been on top form today, which is rare at the mo. He was really happy all day at nursery (maybe I should send him 5 full days a week ). I was given a folder with all his artwork in, and a Christmas card from his team, and two decorations he made. I nearly cried...

Hope your DS is ok tonight.

SquonkaClaus · 19/12/2007 07:27

ds was just generally under the weather again - really clingy and whingey but he slept ok (in dd2's bed, with me) but he did cough a few times, so I'm wondering if he's coming down with a cold, which will be fun because of the asthma thing (but we'll wait and see)

You know, egg, if your ds seems happy and settled at nursery, and you are ridiculously tired, would it be a bad thing if you did send him to nursery for full days? I'm not suggesting that you try to "get rid of him" but if he likes it there and is flourishing? Just an idea...

Dd2 made some paper chains at her nursery the other day, and tomorrow she has her nursery party so I have to bake mince pies to take along!!!!

Am up at this ridiculously early time btw because am waiting for courier to collect mum's christmas prezzie. Any time between 7 am and 9 pm. I know they come early and if I'm not here waiting, they'll bang on the door: BANG BANG BANG I'm sure that at the job interview they get you to do a BANG ON THE DOOR test and probably only employ ex bailiffs and policemen!

That's my sole plan for the day - see how ds is when he wakes up, play with dd2 etc.
