I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

Hi girls. Sorry for absence. DS has had really bad cough and not slept much day or night since Sunday, so he is off nursery and spending 90% of the day screaming. I am not happy but today is much better thank god.

Just checked out our Feb thread, two of the other twin mums there are having a scary time. One's waters started going and is in hospital, although they seem to have managed to stop the contractions, the other is likely to give birth in the next week or two also. Really hits home. Lots of fingers crossed for them.

Off again already, sorry to be so brief, no idea if DS will actually sleep for any length of time now so have to try to lie down for a while.

Lots of love to all the Zappatas .

fryalot · 28/11/2007 20:28

sending big energy boosting hugs to egg. And sleep vibes to egg's ds

Dropdeadfred · 28/11/2007 20:42

Hi All, Egg keep your legs crossed for a while and we will keep our fingers crossed for the ladies on your thread...

Love to all!

marmitemad · 28/11/2007 20:45

Egg - sending you lots of lucoazade & berocca hugs and restful, calm baby vibes. sorry to hear about poorly ds, medised on its way over. I really don't know how I'd deal with being pg again while having dd running around. dh announced on sunday that he wants to have another baby but then said it was up to me when .

I have been away all week on a project management course which was quite scary at first and very tiring but I am pleased to announce that my team won the final exercise which was making a short film.

my mum's dog also had her puppies today, 5 boys and 4 girls . I am hoping to see them tomorrow .

oh congratulations to marmitemum's dog What kind are they?

well done for being so fab on your course

Egg · 29/11/2007 09:41

Just wrote long message and lost it .

DS back at nursery.

Congrats to marmite's mum's dog (NINE!).

Congrats on doing so well on your course.

When do you think you might want another mini marmite?

Can't retype it all, I wrote loads . Have to go and run washing / do hoovering etc, all the things that have been neglected for ages. Booo.

fryalot · 29/11/2007 09:47

tis very frustrating when that happens, egg - my new phone has a touch screen and it's fab, but very easy to delete things, and the delete button is in the same place that the send one was on my last phone, so I hit delete, but I think I've hit send, the phone says "are you sure" and I hit YES! durr!!!

how are all the zappatas today? I'm a bit pissed off with dp, he seems to have commandeered the car and apparently now, I have to tell him a fortnight in advance that I may want it dd2 wants to go to nursery every day (which is possible, but I would have to drive her to a different one two days a week) and dp said vehemently no because he couldn't have the car on those days. wtf?

anyway, egg, is ds sleeping again now? tis good to see you on here

marmitemad · 29/11/2007 10:04

dog is a golden retriever, am going to see them later (without dd) so will take some pics .

I very much want another baby (have been feeling very broody whenever I see tiny babies) but want to enjoy dd on her own for a bit longer and also I feel that life would be easier for me if dd was walking well and possibly out of nappies so kind of think that we could try when she is around 3 which seems an awful long time away.

ooh just remembered that SIL no.2 was having her 22 week scan this morning, will have to text and see if there is any news.

Squonk - dp sounds like he is being very unreasonable, does he need the car every day?

Egg - glad ds seems to be a bit better, make sure you have a rest sometime this morning.

OP posts:
fryalot · 29/11/2007 10:37

no, he doesn't need the bloody car, he's just got bored of going on the train.

grr

Dropdeadfred · 29/11/2007 11:16

Squonk is this the car your family lent you money towards????

Is your DP getting pre-christas grumps or something..? That's two things he's moaned about to you recently...is he Scrroge?

fryalot · 29/11/2007 11:16

you might have a point there, fred, he does get jittery at Christmas.

Will try to calm him down later

Egg · 29/11/2007 14:08

Urgh DS is crying throughout his lunchtime nap AGAIN. He has only slept once this week. Surely he is too young to give it up? I am sure he would be ok if he wasn't coughing.

He was apparently fine at nursery this morning and very happy .

Squonk - I think you can reasonably say that, with the fact you live about 100 miles from the nearest shop, let alone hospital etc, with three DC you NEED a car during the day. DP does NOT. Tell him to eff off...

Egg · 29/11/2007 14:10

Oh marmite, if you can wait, then dont risk getting in my situation and finding yourself pg with twins when your DD will still need a buggy. Tis not good. I am trying to get DS to walk more, and he loves to walk, but he then wants to be carried, or he walks in the opposite direction. It will be impossible to just let him amble along next to double buggy, we will never get anywhere.................

Dropdeadfred · 29/11/2007 14:55

oh Egg you must be knackered!...how old is DS now?

Egg · 29/11/2007 15:04

DS is 21 months. He fell out of bed earlier. I went in and he started shouting La La La La, and demanding to watch Tubbies. I said no. I told him if he wasn't going to sleep then I was taking Blankie away and we would not be watching tv. I removed Blankie and he screamed and yelled. In the end he relented to go back to bed, with Blankie. He did try to sleep, but he coughed and woke up. I have ignored him for ages whilst chatting on Squonk's Neighbours thread........ I think I heard him fall out of bed again, but he definitely still alive up there, the amount of noise he is making.

Had a break this morning as he was at nursery, plus he slept til after 8am this morning, but I was awake from 3-6am...

Dropdeadfred · 29/11/2007 15:07

EEuuugh..Olivia droppped her daytime nap at 21 months....!! {shock]

She sometimes falls alseep if we are on a long car ride, or if you snuggle her on the sofa whilst reading and she's had a busy day, but that's usually at 4pm and not the time I want her to doze...

fryalot · 29/11/2007 15:09

have spoken to dp about the car and he apologised and told me he was being completely unreasonable, dd2 shall go to nursery five days a week.

egg - I know you don't want to hear this, but perhaps it's time to drop his daytime nap? He may sleep better at night though

Dropdeadfred · 29/11/2007 18:49

Oooooooooooooooppppps..thats dd3's anonymity blown...

Squonk...she doesn't want to hear that....!!

Egg · 29/11/2007 19:43

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO he will never be ready to drop the nap. He will be sleeping for 2 hours at lunch until he is at school FULL TIME ok???

To be honest i don't think he is ready, just that he coughs so much he can't be bothered to try at lunch, but he is like a human pinball and never never stops moving during the day (apart from when unwell) so he gets very tired. He was exhausted, rubbing his eyes etc, and was in bed before 7 tonight desperately begging for Blankie.

When I went in at lunch finally, he was lying on the floor, where he had been attempting to sleep, poor lad. He was in bed for two hours, just shouting for a lot of it!

DS has no anonymity on here, I have revealed his name many times . Look at everyone when they do their birth announcements, full names, birth weight, time of birth, often you know the hospital, and then they are still referred to as DD or DS (or DT1 and DT2!) forevermore.

fryalot · 29/11/2007 19:45

sorry

Egg · 29/11/2007 19:56

You will be young lady. When one day you are pg with Squonkette triplets and desperate for sleep too!!!!!!!!!!!

Heheheee.

I can't remember. Did you decide not to continue with the boffing, or was it on hold, or is it still happening. I seem to remember something about fate, and if it happened it was "meant to be" but can't remember the circumstances .

So what do you do with a 21 month old all day if they don't have a nap?

fryalot · 29/11/2007 20:00

you let them watch beebies do crafty stuff with them, play drums and tambourines with them, you make up silly dances and songs, you bake cakes and buns and you let them watch beebies

what we decided was that we won't do anything to stop tripletsquonkettes coming along, but we get so few chances to do any boffing, tis extremely unlikely

Egg · 29/11/2007 20:06

But DS gets naughty with colouring after about 5 mins and ends up drawing on things he shouldn't, so I have to put the pencils away. He loves to play with stickers, but basically sticks all the stickers one on top of the other and then tries to prise them apart, and gets upset if he cant. He is only interested in the tasting part of any cooking, and he has become so obsessed with Teletubbies that he cries when each episode ends and wont watch anything else. In fact, it nearly always has to be the episode with four year old Emily and her pony called Jester, or else DS gets upset.

He is even fed up with the swings at the mo. Feeding ducks is quite popular right now, but no fun in rain.

fryalot · 29/11/2007 21:56

you can get re-usable stickers so he will be able to peel them off each other.

Get him one of those magic slate thingies for drawing on, or some magic paint paper stuff (you can get a pad from tescos, they're fab, no mess at all)

Egg · 30/11/2007 13:48

He has got the scribbler thing from ELC that he can draw on and then it wipes clean...

He has a blackboard and whiteboard...

I did see that magic marker thing with special paper the other day, think that could be FAB.

We had a lovely morning looking round the Christmas market that opened today and then went to Mcdonalds . DS had fish fingers and I had two cheeseburgers. He went home happy with two balloons. Then I let him walk when we were nearly home and he ran off into a DS sized gap between the huge hedge and the tennis courts and said he needed a poo and refused to come out for ages. When I finally got him home I thankfully took his shoes off before he walked in the house as found he had managed to walk in dog poo...

He is in bed now.
