I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

ooh, marmite, I am I really wanted to see the Terracotta army. Really really wanted to.

The three first days of the week are good to work, you get the whole week out of the way then you still have Thursday and Friday before "weekend" sets in. Are you enjoying work?

Fred - dp is that Thomas has words... apparently in his day, when Ringo Starr used to do the narration (before Ringo was famous I think ) the tune didn't have any words and it's wrong wrong wrong... almost as wrong as an animated Winnie the Pooh (oh fgs get a life, dp! )

Dropdeadfred · 22/11/2007 20:04

Squonk your DP is right..we have the original first series on dvd...and there are no words!!
Marmite I would have liked to see the Terracotta Army too! I hope you enjoy it.

Sorry I am missing the point about settling down with MIL? What does that mean?

Egg · 22/11/2007 20:33

BUGGER BUGGER BUGGER. I get that BLOODY thomas tune stuck in my head ALL BLOODY NIGHT when I am lying awake, it sticks in my head wherever I BLOODY GO.

"Thomas - he's the cheeky one.."

I HATE YOU ALL FOR GETTING IT INTO MY HEAD READY FOR TONIGHT.

Ok, don't hate any of you really but seriously, I used to get annoying songs from the radio stuck in my head and now it is Thomas, Pat, Bob et al.

Fred I think that marmite's DD has one day with her mum, one day with MIL and one day with childminder, but I might be wrong.

DS a bit unwell again. Got a temperature and off his food tonight, really sleepy and didn't even want to stay up for the gay "Goodnight" song on CBeebies .

marmitemad · 22/11/2007 20:34

well MIL seems to be not coping and is not communicating with us about what suits her best (eg. me picking up dd from her house after work rather than MIL staying at ours all day) there have also been a few strange comments about dd not staying overnight when she has only stayed twice and both times went ok (or so we thought) and other things.

I am enjoying work apart from my rubbish boss and I'm still squeezed into my old office with the 2 replacements.

I am being thrashed at scrabulous by dh, he spends hours planning each move and I just don't have the time to compete properly.

OP posts:
marmitemad · 22/11/2007 20:37

sorry to hear about poorly ds. I don't think I've seen Thomas yet. dd's favourite (and dh's - he made me come and watch the teeth brushing tonight) is in the night garden which she watches with dh while getting ready for bed and having her bottle.

OP posts:
Egg · 22/11/2007 20:42

DS has gone off the Night Garden, he is only interested if the HaHoos are on, and they only feature very rarely, and he gets fed up waiting. Glad I bought him Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy and Macca Pacca a couple of months ago .

Off to bed in a mo. When I put DS to bed I said to him, "if you feel at all unwell in the night, you just call for mummy, ok?" and he just said "mummeeee" v quietly, but seems to have gone back to sleep. I guess I ought to check he is ok. I can hear him breathing on the monitor.

Nemo is driving me mad. She keeps kneeing me hard. Least I think it is a knee, it could be a foot.

fryalot · 23/11/2007 08:10

morning everyone

egg, how's ds this morning? Was he up in the night?

marmite - D'ya fancy another game of scrabulous? now I have my puter back I can play again

Egg · 23/11/2007 08:56

He is pretty much ok this morning just tired, but he was up a LOT in the night and was very hot and sweaty and upset.

Got tons of shopping to do, too much to be able to carry on pushchair, but dont want to go to Tesco in car as need to go to town to go to Post Office. Such a dilemma. I think DS will run out of steam early on this morning too.....

How is everyone else?

fryalot · 23/11/2007 09:09

When I have a dilemma like that, egg, I generally go to Asda... they have a post office, a clothes department, magazines, household stuff. In fact, I'm not sure there's anything they don't sell

Although, I never have problems with what I can carry home on the pushchair as the nearest shop is so far away I have to drive anyway

Glad ds seems ok this morning. The last thing you need right now is a poorly boy again

Dropdeadfred · 23/11/2007 09:39

Sorry to hear about your night with ds Egg.

DD3 has started waking up extra extra early (this started after she was ill) anytime between 4 and 5.30am...sometimes she just sings and talks for half an hour then goes straight back to sleep but mainly she asks for milk. (Then goes straight back to sleep and is still asleep now at gone 9am!!!)
The trouble is that dp is the world's lightest sleeper and is suffering big time as he can't get back to sleep afterwards and has to get up at 6.45am anyway
Whereas I get to snooze again until 8 or so..

Wish I knew how to stop this without being mean to her...

fryalot · 23/11/2007 10:03

stop giving her milk.

She will scream and cry for the first couple of days, but after that she should sleep through again.

ds started waking up in the night and I gave him milk to settle him, then he started waking up for the milk. After a couple of weeks of that, I stopped giving it to him. I told him before he went to bed that if he woke up he would not be getting any, then I followed it through.

The first night he screamed and cried for an hour or so, the second night he asked for milk and just lay there staring at me in disgust till he went back to sleep. The third morning he stayed asleep.

Good luck

Dropdeadfred · 23/11/2007 10:14

Thanks Squonk..trouble is sometimes she is awake singing for half an hour before she adsks...and that's enough to wake dp up for the rest of the day!

fryalot · 23/11/2007 10:35

hmm.... dunno then.

You could try one of those bunny alarm clocks - they seem to have mixed reviews on here but it may work for you

Dropdeadfred · 23/11/2007 12:09

I am being a right royal pain in the ass now...her room is always pitch black due to the blackout curtains so not sure if an alarm thing would work...plus she's still only ickle really..

Guess i will get dp some earplugs!

fryalot · 23/11/2007 12:12

one of these it is then

Dropdeadfred · 23/11/2007 12:22

that could be it Squonk

fryalot · 23/11/2007 12:26

glad to help

Dropdeadfred · 23/11/2007 12:30

I'll tell DP it was your idea....

fryalot · 23/11/2007 12:31

erm.....

Dropdeadfred · 23/11/2007 12:38

and your name and address...

fryalot · 23/11/2007 12:45

Egg · 23/11/2007 12:52

OI!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe, I was having that prob with Egg junior recently, he was waking at 5am, sometimes singing for half an hour, and then crying, and when I finally gave in and went in he would do his milk sign (he only ever uses sign language for milk, and it's the only sign we know ), and he does it right in my face as though somehow shouting in sign language. I ended up always getting the milk ready and going in with it, which meant he was waking earlier and earlier. Realised he was probably thinking at 5am "hmmm, wouldn't mind some milk now" so I decided not to give him any until we were downstairs and he had a clean nappy etc, and he is now usually sleeping til 7ish.

Saying that, I would never normally give him any until at least 6am anyway, and usually later, I try not to offer him anything in the night, or he will always want it.

marmitemad · 23/11/2007 21:06

evening all (if anyones around?)

9 month development check went ok and they saw me early at 9:30am so I could get the train in time. Terracotta army was interesting , I was slightly disappointed by the small number of figures they have but the horses were good and the exhibition very well planned. dd seemed to enjoy herself and was trying to sleep when we went in but resisting so took her out of pram and she laughed/chatted her way round and even met a boyfriend. Feel shattered now though.

dd had a spectatular projectile vomiting episode earlier just as I did up the car seat straps on our way to Tescos, it was hideous and made me retch. dh said "I knew I shouldn't have forced down the whole bottle of milk" .

Have set up another scrabulous game Squonk.

where is everyone, busy doing exciting things?

Have just got home after staying overnight at a friends in Stevenage for a girlie gathering. Managed to drink a whole bottle of wine , talked a lot of rubbish, ate loads of pizza and chocolate and then stumbled off to bed at ungodly o'clock.
Went straight to pub today for a late lunch with all of dh's family which was fun but tiring. dh seems to have coped remarkably well and said he actually enjoyed himself apart from the room decorating at lunchtime which took 45mins to tidy up (dd feeds herself but needs supervision to avoid an apocolypse).

hope everybody is well.

OP posts:
fryalot · 26/11/2007 07:46

marmite - I heard that there weren't many terracotta warriors actually there - can you still get a sense of how fantastic the whole army would have been?

My kids projectile vomit when forced to drink tons of milk as well... Wonder if it's a female thing to know that this is a bad idea men!

Will go and check scrabulous now.

how's everyone else?
