marmitemad · 06/09/2007 22:12

I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

Oooooooh neighbours is very exciting today!

Hope Squonk is watching too.

I had a ham, cheese and leftover breadsauce sandwich. Then some apple pie and custard .

Egg · 05/11/2007 14:04

MY CAR SEATS ARE HERE. WOooooooooooHoooooooooo.

Dropdeadfred · 05/11/2007 14:09

where dd you get them from Egg? how exciting...!!!

Egg · 05/11/2007 14:36

Same ebay seller as I got pram in the end. They were the cheapest on ebay. Still ended up paying a lot more than I would have for the second hand one I was going to buy, but a lot less than in the shops. Spent £460 in total I think. They are fab!

Dropdeadfred · 05/11/2007 14:38

I honestly think that bit of extra money is worth it (if you have it) for brand new where little babies are concerned.

I love the smell of new prams etc

GunpowderTreasonAndSquonk · 05/11/2007 19:11

just popping in to say hi.

Not stopping though. Yes, I watched neighbours... what about that Rebecca then?

egg - I was to see you were hit by a firework!!! thank god you weren't hurt too badly!

Marmite - in my other life as a Manchester City fan I have been to Charlton several times - and we had a city v Charlton match on tape for several years (guess who won )

not sure whether I'll be on tomorrow at all, but I should be able to pop in briefly at about this time

obviously I am so keen to talk to you, I do it twice!

marmitemad · 05/11/2007 19:51

Egg - glad you got your car seats ok, I used to watch neighbours everyday while cooking dinner but now it clashes with dds tea time . will try and check in at lunchtimes now.

we used to be season ticket holders until dd's arrival but we are going on sat so hoping to beat cardiff. I bet you have the game where city beat charlton 5-2?? sadly we were at that game.

I am typing this sitting cosily on the sofa from the laptop as dh has set up the wireless network, no more sitting on my own in the dining room but its proving a bit difficult to view the screen and type properly.

dd's nose is like a running tap

One of the lads from the boy's school next to our girl's school played for Charlton. His name is Richard Rufus. Don't think he is still there but no idea . I am a Crystal Palace supporter. We are 23rd out of 24th in the Champions League .

Car seats do indeed smell lovely (as does pushchair). Have not tried carseats on pushchair yet, will have a go tomorrow when DS is at nursery and I am waiting for EDF Energy to come and fix our meter (it has not changed since we moved in, so looks like we have used no electricity!).

Neighbours v exciting. Marmite I used always watch Home & Away at 6pm, but then once DS got more than 6 months old I realised it wasn't great for him to think I watched tv all day, so now I do all my telly watching when he is in bed.

Squonk - why so busy??? I know you have lots to do anyway, but you normally have more time for US!!!! So much rushing? Are you getting all our Christmas pressies sorted?

marmitemad · 05/11/2007 21:02

I think Richard Rufus left a few seasons ago but I remember seeing him.

you will have to keep me updated with neighbours, I have tried having it on in the kitchen next door while feeding dd but it doesn't really work.

what is everyone getting dcs/dhs for xmas?

PS - I'm back in the dining room as was proving too difficult to play scrabulous on laptop.

something strange has happened to my watched threads. I've lost half of them and can't see a reset button.

OP posts:
Egg · 06/11/2007 08:58

I saw someone else complaining of lost watched threads, I dont have any, only look at "threads I am on" and then active convos.

Have got DS the lovely grand prix car for Christmas, and although determined not to get him anything else, am sure we will (tempted by Teletubbies Big Hug as he is soooo keen on them).

No idea for DH. Not a clue. He is a tricky one always.

In fact, no idea for any of the rest of the family .

How is everyone today?

marmitemad · 06/11/2007 13:23

well everything is back to normal now I've logged on at work so not sure if dh has messed something up by installing wireless.

we are getting dd a rocking horse for xmas although MIL said she wanted to get this when I told her last week . my parents are getting her a wooden push along trolley with bricks.

I was thinking about getting this for dd's birthday but the bad reviews have now put me off. Is it worth getting a trike now or waiting until dd is older and can anyone recommend a brand?

OP posts:
Egg · 06/11/2007 13:41

Hmm, link did not work for me but my mum got DS a wooden trike from ELC for his bday, rather than Christmas, and it is seriously one of the most used things he has. He uses it in the house as it is small and light, and has a bigger plastic one passed down from my sister's kids in the garden that he is still too small for.

Last Christmas, when DS was same age as your DD will be, we got him the v-tech walker (all 7 of us in our NCT group got same one completely independent of each other, and all our DCs love them). He still loves that now. Also got him a wooden activity centre thing, with a xylophone etc on one side, a blackboard / whiteboard on one side and a reversible thing with zips and buttons etc on the third side. It then has magnets at each end. He loves it and spends a long time playing with it. Will try to find a link.

He apparently loves the rocking horse and similar things at nursery.

Time for NEIGHBOURS!

fryalot · 06/11/2007 18:45

hello.

I'm not busy.

Dp buggered up the internet connection, so the wireless doesn't work. And as the computer is in a different room from the telephone connection thingy, I can only use his laptop at the moment.

Was thinking of maybe taking advantage of no computer and cleaning the house.

But I bought a magazine instead

marmite - it was an important match for us though, if we won we got promoted back into the top division, and iirc, your guys got as big a cheer when you scored as we did when we got our five.

The bloke behind us cracked open the champagne at 3 - 0 despite everyone else telling him that this is Manchester city and there was still plenty of time to lose 4 - 3, but obviously, we didn't.

My neighbour has one of those bike things with a handle, and we all look jealously out of the window when they're out on it coz it looks FANTASTIC but by the time I realised that they existed, mine were all a bit too old (not that ds is too old, but he wouldn't get the use out of it now) So I have no advice, but they look great. My two had the walky things (not a walker, but like a truck where they hold onto the back) and that served them fine.

Will be checking in in the evenings till weekend, when hopefully dp will put the puter system back the way it was!

ScottishMummy · 06/11/2007 19:00

hello everyoen, blimey it is cold i am marinading the tofu in chilli, garlic and lemongrass..Yummy

what are u all up to?
Egg did u buy Jane super twin thingy - is it nice?

have not watched neighbours in yonks, outta that loop

marmitemad · 06/11/2007 19:02

so you succumbed to Facebook in the end, Egg?
we could all play scrabble together as Squonk has nearly finished thrashing me . which magazine did you get?

I'm not sure about the smart trike thing now as the reviews were really bad on ciao, might have to look around for another trike or revert to the wheelybug for indoors?

OP posts:
marmitemad · 06/11/2007 19:03

SM - do you buy a particular sort of Tofu? dh is vege and we tried it ages ago and weren't keen but your marinade sounds lovely.

OP posts:
ScottishMummy · 06/11/2007 19:07

cauldron organic - mmm. marinade makes it tasty as tofu can be bitty bland

Egg · 06/11/2007 19:37

I am busy baking some cod to have with some noodles and veg. For me this is a culinary masterpiece.

Squonk sorry , forgot about buggered computer. Memory is getting worse.

Facebook is baaaaaaaaaaaaad. Marmite I dont think I have found you yet to add you, although I know how you are listed so will ask to be your friend later.

DS's bigger trike is the one with the handle and it has served my sis's kids well, and is still going strong. He does like it now, but is not tall enough to move it himself with his feet so gets a bit annoyed, but he likes being pushed. Most kids seem to love them.

Right, cod is done, off to eat a decent meal!

marmitemad · 06/11/2007 20:16

Egg - thats a bit strange as I had a friend request from you when I logged into my emails earlier.

cod sounds yummy, in fact thats what I had but mine was in breadcrumbs

OP posts:
Egg · 07/11/2007 12:32

Yes we are now facebook friends! Maybe I found you and you had not confirmed you were my friend or something, as I know you were not listed as a friend when I last looked... sorry, memory failure again .

Cod is usually crumbed here too, in the form of fish fingers . My house stinks of cod today though, and I really mean it reeks. Even my coat, which hangs on a peg in the kitchen at the back door, stinks. I could smell it as I walked round town. Everyone must have thought I had an embarrassing problem .

My parents are off back to London now. Been lovely having them so near for a few days. They did go and see some estate agents before they left, so hopefully they really might move here one day!

fryalot · 07/11/2007 20:57

egg - was thinking of you the other day - there was something on the news about Winchester being the fabbest place in the country to live I must say, it looked very nice on the telly.

If dp hasn't fixed the internet by weekend, I'm putting the pc in the front room. Bolleux to how it looks!

I have ten mins so may have a bit of a mumsnet surf....

Egg · 08/11/2007 13:15

Hello gals. Nipping on briefly as off to hospital shortly for routine scan, and DH is working from home today to look after DS so he is on the computer most of the time (has gone for a jog at the mo...).

Yes indeed, Winchester won the best place to live last year I think, was this the new one, I knew it was coming soon. HOWEVER, there is apparently beginning a big property crash in Winchester as prices got a bit too high, and no-one is buying so no-one is selling, blaa blaa. Not good news as my parents are now hoping to buy (whooopeeee) which would be so lovely to have them nearer, but it would be foolish for them to buy now as it is likely to crash completely down here apparently. Waaaah.

Squonk keep meaning to say, you mentioned swimming a while back, and yes I very sadly realise that my days taking DS swimming are numbered. It is such a shame. I guess once Nemo and Dory are old enough, I can put them in the creche at the leisure centre for an hour and re-start DS's lessons but not until they are 6 months or so i don't think. I suppose either DH or I could take him at the weekends, while the other looks after Nemo and Dory, but it's not even like we can take all three as impossible to keep hold of them all. Poooo.

Will report back tonight after scan, wont be home til 5ish probably so wont get back on PC til after DS is in bed most likely.

Hope everyone is well today . I had a shitty night's sleep but then lay on the bed from 9:30 til 12 this morning while DS at nursery and fell asleep for a while so feel ok again. Thank THE LORD for nursery!
