I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

I love your bonfire name!!

Egg · 01/11/2007 14:40

What grrrrrrrreat song. Of course i am much too young to remember it , but I have heard it lots.

I am getting annoyed. There are three men outside my house, in a large scaffolding truck, parked directly outside my front window. They seem to be doing no work (think they must be supposed to be at a house about 5 doors down being refurbished), they are eating crisps and drinking coke, then I realised they had got out and were sitting ON MY FRONT WALL. I am sure I saw one of them doing his trousers up, and I am scared he went for a wee down my back alley , well my side passage thing. They have been there over an hour, I really want to tell them to piss off, but I am shy.

GunpowderTreasonAndSquonk · 01/11/2007 14:45

oh god how awful! Someone had a wee in my drive once and I really flew at them, but I was 100% sure, as he was doing his flies up as the wee was still flowing down my wall and pooling by his feet.

But he swore at me and stormed off.

If I were you I would start a thread about how disgusting some people are and be righteously angry about it.

What you should do is go out and take their photos. Don't say anything, just go out, take loads of pics of them, make sure you get the reg no of the van, then go back inside and talk on the phone in the window.

Hopefully this will get them really paranoid and they'll move.

Dropdeadfred · 01/11/2007 14:53

or put up a huge poster in your window saying' go do some work and stop taking the piss (in my alley)

Egg · 01/11/2007 14:55

I have made a note of the number of the scaffolding co so I can call them if I find a large wet patch in my back alley, or if they have left any rubbish. Will be going out shortly once I get DS up (he is awake, I am ignoring him...), so will have a look around.

GunpowderTreasonAndSquonk · 01/11/2007 14:56

just be careful where you put your feet

Dropdeadfred · 01/11/2007 14:58

hmm..not likng the poster idea then..? I thought it was amusing helpful, and ds could have helped paint it?...

Egg · 01/11/2007 16:50

The poster idea was very amusing and helpful, but I was too scared... Nothing looked amiss when we went out and I had a thorough inspection of my back alley. They have gone now.

Not liking this marmite at work business... means she's never here .

marmitemad · 01/11/2007 17:35

I'm back....... am not at work today but seem to have been very busy. Have decided to try and be more organised with housework so this morning I washed up, cleaned both kitchen sinks and gave the oven a quick once over while dd was asleep then we went out to swimming. after that went straight to bounce and rhyme at library and then I had to go food shopping on my own as I am going out with the girls tomorrow night. Have now unpacked everything and am knackered so am pleased my mum just phoned and said she can't make rosemary conley class tonight .

I will try and make more effort to log on at lunchtimes.

we had a really nice time last night, had afew glasses of wine and dd woke up a few times but went back to sleep easily.

Egg - 2 days at nursery sounds great, is there any chance ds can change before xmas as this would give him more time to get used to it? hope the workmen have gone now?

Squonk - sorry I missed the bit about ds stammer as well (I still can't get used to the new format). hope speech therapist can help. love your bonfire name too.

Fred - how old is dd3? maybe you could look for some research/book about how important it is for child development for them to have independent time to show dp?

OP posts:
ScottishMummy · 01/11/2007 18:21

squonk - i also had a stutter when i was a child, and it got worse when stressed . did resolve though so thinking bout your wee one

marmitemad · 02/11/2007 13:11

what fireworks are you going to tomorrow

me Alexandra palace

GunpowderTreasonAndSquonk · 03/11/2007 11:41

hello everyone.

Couldn't get on t'internet yesterday - dp "fixed" the connection I wish he wouldn't touch things....

anyway, I've really fixed it (temporarily) so I'm here today

thanks for all your reassurance about ds's stammer. As none of you knew about it, I guess I never told you it comes and goes, but when it's bad it's really bad. We'll see what the speech therapist has to say.

Dp away today - he's off seeing a band at Charterhouse School (egg - he's staying in Winchester apparently )

Egg · 03/11/2007 18:24

Hello just popping in briefly before I head off to pick up our babysitter from tonight (girl from DS's nursery). Very worried as massive fireworks display at end of our road in park (we are 3 houses from end) and I know I wont be able to find anywhere within 20 streets to park my car when we get back........ esp with my crap parking skills. Bugger.

Had a lovely day out with my mum today putting together our nursery list in John Lewis. Was lots of fun as felt like shopping without spending any money, then we got free CAKE AND HOT CHOCOLATE. Very tiring though.

Squonk, DP in Winchester? Whereabouts is he staying? My parents are here as well at mo. Will be a very busy place tonight I think.

Better get myself together or I will be late and we will never get to go on our VERY rare night out. Will be back tomorrow.

GunpowderTreasonAndSquonk · 03/11/2007 18:29

ooh, egg, have a lovely, fantastic, wonderful time.

Fireworks will probably be over by the time you come home and parking will be fine.

dp not staying there any more - he was going to crash on a mate's sofa, but the mate has booked a hotel room five minutes away from the concert, so he's kipping on the floor of the hotel room instead.

He's in Godalming now.

Free cake & chocolate? I may go and do a nursery list. Nobody has to buy from it, right?

hee hee

GunpowderTreasonAndSquonk · 03/11/2007 18:29

I just realised, you meant you wouldn't be able to park when you get back with babysitter.

durr!

Did dh open the very large parcel for you?

Egg · 04/11/2007 10:31

Bloody hell, drove round and round and got gridlocked and unable to even DRIVE into my road for a while last night. Had to drop poor babysitter at door in end, pick up DH and drive into town centre as could not park my car within 10 streets of my house. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

However, was in the end only 5 mins late for dinner with parents and had a lovely lovely time. I am very tired today though. Parents round for lunch today so am off to Tesco shortly for lots of food.

I was thinking the same about nursery lists, to be honest you have the right to cancel it anyway, and it's surely not YOUR fault if no-one buys, so go and make one, and get that cake (it was yummy).

Right, need to tidy a bit before shopping, house is a bombsite.

Oh, and when we got back from dinner at 10:20 ish, poor DS was sobbing as a new load of fireworks had started up and scared him, so then babysitter went in, and he wasn't expecting her, even though he knows her, so he was quite upset when we got home. He calmed down quickly though and then HALLELUJAH slept til 7am.

GunpowderTreasonAndSquonk · 04/11/2007 12:44

aww, bless your little ds we're supposed to go to some fireworks tonight, but as dd2 was screaming in terror when dd1 took her to the door last night, perhaps we won't be staying too long

am supposed to be getting the house cleaned and tidied but can't seem to get motivated.

D'you think dd1 will do it if I pay her all the money I have in the world (about 32p)?

Egg · 04/11/2007 18:41

Hmmmm, not sure DD1 will be too keen...

I don't like fireworks. I got hit by one when I was younger, it burnt a hole in my top but only burnt me slightly. I find them a bit scary and did even before that . DH thinks they are great.

Yes yes the BIG box has been opened, and we have played with the new powertwin. DS has tried the front seat, then the back seat, then the front seat again with the hood (hated it), then the back seat with the hood (not so bad but not keen), then sat in the front seat to watch an entire episode of Tubbies, then attempted to climb back into the back seat... and so on... you get the picture. He loves it and is very excited. I feel sad as he thinks it is for him. It fits through the front door! Feels very big compared to Zapp tho.

How is everyone else this weekend?

marmitemad · 04/11/2007 19:08

ooh didn't realise you had got the powertwin, glad it meets ds's approval

very busy weekend here (whats new). went on water slide at leisure pool on friday and lost my glasses and dunked dd on landing wihcih was quite scary (she was in an inflatable seat) then went out with baby group mums on friday to chicagos for a 30th birthday, had a great time with lots of dancing and wine.

had to get up early on sat to drop off dh as he went to southampton to watch football so dd & I went pram shopping all day with my sil. Bought a dress for dd for xmas day in monsoon (red silk with white butterflies, just looked for link but isn't on website ). my old schoolfriends all came round in the evening for gossip/pizza and chocolate fountain. went to bed quite late and was up loads with dd so I am very tired today. my joints are also really achey .

I veer between liking fireworks and hating them, depends where I am watching them and how warm/dry I am.

Egg · 05/11/2007 10:27

Bloody hell marmite you were busy this weekend. So were you in Southampton shopping with DD after dropping DH off? I was shopping in Southampton on Saturday! My first time there ever! Her Christmas outfit sounds lovely. Not sure what DS will wear, last year he had a lovely blue top with little reindeer on .

Right, time to go and lie back down again now. Exhausted as had parents over for lunch yesterday and after a day out shopping, plus night out on Saturday, it was all too much for me , I was asleep by 8:30 last night, but DS woke up screaming at 10pm, not sure why, but then he thankfully slept til after 7 today.

marmitemad · 05/11/2007 13:19

sorry, didn't explain myself properly. dh drove down to southampton with db and we went shoppping in staines.

I was asleep by 8:30 last night as well but had to get up twice to poorly dd, resorted to medised in the end which seemed to do the trick.
I really didn't want to go to work today

OP posts:
Egg · 05/11/2007 13:23

I could not have gone to work today. Spent morning lying on sofa and still knackered now . Glad you are still checking out MN in lunchhour though .

Yes sorry that makes sense, am guessing you dropped DH at DBs house... long way to expect you to drive him, with DD and SIL, down to Southampton! Who was he supporting? Saints or Charlton?

Poor DD, I have heard Medised is great for colds etc, however DS has always refused anything but calpol...

marmitemad · 05/11/2007 13:37

we are all hardened charlton supporters for our sins (family thing), sorry you are still tired. I have just been swimming and feel a little better.

I am hoping they don't ban MN if I only log on while I am eating my sandwiches (tuna today) .

OP posts:
marmitemad · 05/11/2007 13:38

hope you enjoy neighbours
