I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

Marmite you have reason to be confused. I was buying a blue powertwin with two car seats from kkey21 on MN, but then saw what I thought was quite a bargain for a brand new 2007 model powertwin on ebay, so went for that instead. So I now own the brand new one, but no car seats yet, but will hopefully get them at some point.

I emailed the seller of the car seat on ebay who had one brand new matching my pram, asking if they have two (it was a business not a private seller), as I don't want to pay postage twice, not heard back yet though.

Must have been great to catch up on a bit of sleep this pm marmite. I remember the day before we moved house DS was at my sister's house for the day and I was wandering round Putney feeling guilty as I was not doing anything, but also not with him. It felt v wierd. Am quite used to it now he is at nursery and I sit at home on MN!

Ran out of chocs. Have taken the inflatable pumpkin and ghost from the door and hope no-one else comes. They will get 50p coins from poor DS's moneybox if they do .

Cant wait to go to bed. Hope Squonk is having a good evening. Oh and marmite, she is out too. Fred, are you staying in? We never go out, but actually ARE on Saturday night as my parents are staying in Winchester for a few nights, so we have a babysitter coming (one of the girls from DS's nursery), and we are going for dinner with them. Very excited!

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 19:43

Yes Egg we're staying in...we only ever go out together if my parents are down to stay.

We haven't had a single trick or treater...weird!

fryalot · 01/11/2007 07:45

Had a lovely night with my bro.

But was driving so I had a pint of beer and half a glass of wine, but it was still nice.

My run of bad luck continued when I got home though when I broke dp's glass and spilt whisky all over the place!

DD2 SLEPT IN HER OWN BED ALL NIGHT

so things are definitely looking up

Got to take dd2 to HV today for booster jabs and while I'm there, we're going to chat about ds's stammer, then off to town to pick up my new glasses

What's everyone else up to?

Marmite - did you enjoy your night?

Dropdeadfred · 01/11/2007 09:19

OOoh nice glasses Squonk. Glad you had a good night with your bro. Sometimes a night away from the norm is what we need...

Sorry about Dp's glasses though and I hope you got a straw and sucked up the spilt whiskey?

I didn't get one single child knocking on my door last night!! And I had lollies and sweets waiting!! We do live in a quiet road but still...

DD1 went out looking scarily sexy as a vampire and managed to get half a carrier bag of sweets...I really thought she was too old but she still wanted to go!

Now I just have to stop eating all the fizzy cola bottles...

Egg · 01/11/2007 09:47

Squonk let's hope your run of bad luck from yesterday is over now. Fab glasses, mine are hideous (only wear them for driving, and even then I forget most of the time). Glad you had fun with your bro though. It sounds like you and he get on much better now?!?!?

Fred we had a few teenage girls coming round. I was at the amount of sweets and choc in everyone's bags / buckets / wheelbarrows (yes, one pair of girls aged about 8 had a wheelbarrow full). After we ran out of chocs and took down the decorations nobody knocked, so DS's savings were ok after all.

He managed to sleep until 6:10am this morning, and only woke up cos DH was crashing around in the bathroom, so DS was happier this morning and walked nearly ALL the way to nursery holding my hand. I had to carry him the final bit but I was very proud. Am trying to get him used to walking short distances.

Egg · 01/11/2007 09:50

Forgot to say WELL DONE to DD2 Squonk. Did you get some boffing in????????????????????

Also forgot to say, very excited in Tesco yesterday, we found marmite rice cakes and marmite breadsticks. DS ate a whole packet of the breadsticks. No wonder he didn't want his supper.

There was a cake at nursery today. It was clearly homemade, but very nice looking. I said "ooh, do we bring cakes on our children's bdays?" and they said yes, people do tend to. Then I realised I will have newborn twins who at best will be a month or so old, and I can't bake . They said M&S is very acceptable...

fryalot · 01/11/2007 11:13

didn't manage to boff because dp was working till ridiculous o'clock but if she's going to make a habit of it, who knows

Yuck Marmite!

(not you marmite, but marmite marmite)

Was quite surprised at how well my bro and I got on. We steered clear of any subject that may make us fall out and just bitched about our parents instead

Twas good.

I have made an executive decision to take the rest of the day off. No washing, ironing or housework shall be done today.

Dd2 had her pre-school booster and cried for half an hour afterwards (real tears) "mummy it huuuuuuurts" so I got her a special treat for sleeping all night and a special treat for being brave (even though she wasn't. At all)

Off to make a brew and eat a biscuit. Glasses look fab, but they're varifocals and it's a bit strange at the mo - everything's blurry unless I look at it properly.

Am busy thinking of a bonfire name - I thought of GunpowderTreasonAndSquonk - what do you reckon?

Egg · 01/11/2007 11:25

What a FAB fireworks night name! I never even managed a halloween one. Poor DD2, DS usually squeals like a big with the jabs but stops crying almost immediately, esp when given a chocolate button . He has his second MMR (a bit belated) at the beginning of December.

Good plan on no housework today. I was going through baby clothes upstairs but my back and head started killing so I gave up and sat on the sofa with some chocolate milk and Heat mag and Fern n Phil. Head still hurts though so need some more rest time! Only an hour til I collect DS.

Was chatting to the nursery and he might do two full days instead of three mornings come January, as they advised me it is much better value so we wont be so bankrupted! Would make life a lot easier as would mean not having to get Nemo and Dory out of house (esp if they are asleep) at lunch to get him. Feel bad though to be leaving him ALL DAY when I am not working, but he loves it there. At least it's not til Jan.

fryalot · 01/11/2007 11:40

oh, egg, I think that sounds like an excellent plan.

And you'll have two full days on your own for a month to rest and really try and get ready for nemo & dory arriving.

How are philip & fern? I'm watching pop years 2 (tis 1981 in our house at the mo)

Egg · 01/11/2007 11:48

Phil n Fern are FAB. Fern looks amazing, she has lost a lot of weight, and has a new hairdo. I love Fern, she is the kind of person who I think would be a great mum, and a great friend. She is standing next to her very handsome hubby who is cooking at the mo.

Phil is, as ever, the true Silver Fox of television .

Not sure I will get a whole month in 2008 before Nemo and Dory come. Would like to reach 37 weeks at least though, which would be 12 Jan I think. Arggh, that would only be one full week of DS doing two full days at nursery.

Going to eat cold lasagne now, that DS refused last night after his marmite breadsticks.......

Dropdeadfred · 01/11/2007 11:51

2 full days sound lovely...I am thinking of trying to get dd3 into some kind of pre-school/nursery whathaveyou...she loves going to playgroup (where i stay with her) but i think she's ready for a morning or afternoon without me...? getting dp to agree could be impossible though

Egg · 01/11/2007 11:53

Don't tell him Fred. He is at work so he wont know [evil emoticon]. My DH is all for it, except the cost... At least your DD doesn't have that long til she is three, and then she gets a free nursery place! Hurrah. Think it has done DS good though, he is much more independent now. Hope he is happy this morning and not missing Anna, his lovely carer who is off getting married.

Dropdeadfred · 01/11/2007 12:09

they only get the free place the term after so nearly a year before she's eligible..

Dropdeadfred · 01/11/2007 12:13

if i didn't tell him dd3 would...she chatters away like a 4 yr old now....she even told him i was on my laptop all day the other day!!!

Egg · 01/11/2007 12:17

Of course, I forgot she was gifted and neglected or whatever we were calling our DCs! I am worrying about the day DS tells people what I get up to (mummy does big stinky poos etc) .

fryalot · 01/11/2007 12:28

dp thinks mine have really fertile imaginations. He doesn't realise that most of the time they're telling him exactly what happened during the day

Dropdeadfred · 01/11/2007 12:31

i wish she didn't talk so well sometimes..

she told me she did ten wees at playfroup because she drank two drinks and they came out her minny!!!

Egg · 01/11/2007 13:07

ROFL Fred .

Squonk I somehow managed to miss the bit about DSs stammer earlier. Did not realise. I guess you can't notice these things until they actually start to talk properly. Strangely my DS, who only says mainly one syllable words, does say what sounds like "I I I I I I I I", as though he is trying to say "I want" or "I like" etc, but can't get past the I. I think it is nothing to do with a stammer and just him practicing sounds, but it did make me think about stammers the other day. Do you think DS definitely has one? Or is just a possibility?

fryalot · 01/11/2007 13:29

egg - he definitely has one, but whether it is just because he is so young or whether it will stick, we don't know.

HV referred us to speech therapist - appt should come in about a month.

Egg · 01/11/2007 13:35

Good luck to him for it and definitely hope it is something he grows out of.

Off to watch neighbours now... Missed it yesterday cos of darn plumber, does Oliver know about the baby yet?

Dropdeadfred · 01/11/2007 13:38

Squonk - sorry I didn't realise about your ds and his stammer problem either. Hope you get some help and information.

Egg, put your feet up!

fryalot · 01/11/2007 14:11

twas a bit strange watching people on neighbours discuss who was the best doctor who and hearing pepper say that she likes billie piper

knew they'd have to have a black pudding bashing scene though

Ds's stammer comes and goes and always has done. I've asked and been given lots of advice on here about it, but he has started to notice it and get upset and frustrated by it, so I decided that the time had come to do something.

Will keep you posted as far as speech therapist goes.

(do you remember that song by Jim Diamond that went I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-should have known better? it keeps going round and round in my head coz ds reminds me of it and I keep trying not to actually sing it )

Dropdeadfred · 01/11/2007 14:13

God I dooo remmeber that song ( and a few crap slow dances to it...)

I yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi shudda known better,...i yi yi yi yi yi etc etc etc

GunpowderTreasonAndSquonk · 01/11/2007 14:14

that's the one.

Bet it's in your head now as well
