I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 09:38

Morning all.

Oooh Egg how exciting you're getting a NEW POwertwin now!!!

Egg · 31/10/2007 12:05

Yes indeedy a NEW one. Although kkey21 did say to me that she is not sure John Lewis do sell the rebel car seats and having just checked I think she is right , but I may well be able to get them brand new for a reasonable price elsewhere, or as I have a nursery advisory appt on Saturday (ooooh) with JL, and will have a nursery list (like a wedding list, to stop my MIL buying horrid synthetic crap), maybe they can order them in especially for me .

So how is everyone today. I had some tears this morning as I got over emotional and tired as DS woke at 5:30, and was miserable and grumpy until we went to the swings at 10am, and I had been awake since 5am anyway as couldn't sleep, so tired and grumpy myself. He has just gone for his nap now, and I am waiting for the blooming gas safety people who are currently 20 mins late.

Egg · 31/10/2007 12:12

Sorry forgot to thank you all for your advice last night, although you all advised me to go for it, and I did, and changed my mind anyway.

Just looked at kiddicare, which is normally cheapest for EVERYTHING, and car seats are £110 each . Maybe I made a foolish decision. Looks like I will be asking for car seats for Christmas .

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 12:13

Hi Egg, well I hope you get the car seats sorted.I do think new is best sometimes for new babies ...although good seconhand is often perfectly acceptable.

I hope your gas people turn up...

Wheres Squonk today?

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 12:18

This looks good though...
here

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 12:20

and here

Egg · 31/10/2007 12:23

Oi stop sending links with whole combination of everything I need when I have BOUGHT MY PUSHCHAIR!

Actually, if I ended up paying £110 for each car seat the price of the travel system on the first link is only £10 more than I would pay in total...

Have to say getting new car seats did sway me in the end as well, you are advised NEVER to buy secondhand car seats, no matter how reliable the seller, so I feel a bit happier about it. Esp as they will be so weeny.

The website on your second link has car seats for £105, so we are getting somewhere!

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 13:04

oops sorry didn't know you'd already bought it...what colour?

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 13:05

cheaper rebels here

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 13:07

sorry but this is a bargain...can you send your pushchair back?

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 13:09

By the way Egg, didn't mean to ignore the tears thing...Chin up matey, you're preggers you're entitiled to cry at the drop of a hat!! x

Egg · 31/10/2007 13:12

Fark.

Bugger.

That is prob cheaper than I will pay I think.

I have got the garish cherry colour, as per your ebay link. Don't want to blend into the background after getting used to my traffic cone orange Zapp.

I paid £320 incl postage for pushchair. So if I got two car seats at £80 each it will take me to £480.

I was too impatient.

Egg · 31/10/2007 13:14

Tis ok, felt much better once out. I bumped into my lovely neighbour (who is nearing retirement) and had a long chat with him. He is so nice, and his wife is lovely too, and they are so lovely to DS, and it cheered me up no end. Then spent over an hour at the swings, and DS was a happy lad. He came home and ate beans on toast and went to bed at midday.

Gas man not here yet. They did phone though, should be here by 2pm .

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 31/10/2007 14:45

hello.

To explain why I have not been around this morning, and so you will all understand when I go and collapse in the other room and I'm not around this afternoon either:

Got up at 6.30 to take dp to station. Got to station. Dp forgot glasses.

Drove home, got kids up and dressed, loaded them into car (with glasses) and drove to Hull. Got lost in the one way system, finally parked in multi-storey. Got kids out of car, into pushchair, into lift, down to street, realised I had forgotten glasses. Go back to car, get glasses and go through it all again. Give glasses to dragon lady at dp's school who glared at me.

Wandered round Hull for a bit, got a few bits in Primark, decided to come home.

Some tosser parked so close to ds's side of the car that I couldn't even open the door never mind fit him in, so I put him in his seat by putting him in the car through dd2's side. Got dd2 in car and drove off. Coming down the ramp, dd2 screamed that ds's door was open and as I turned round to look (it was indeed wide open) I crashed it into a pillar. That shut it.

Grr

Got to asda... ds played the "lets throw all mummy's shopping on the floor" game. Continually.

Spilt a load of milk in the boot of the car.

Drove all the way home to the symphony of two very tired and grumpy children crying.

Got home to discover that all the parcels I was expecting yesterday have still not arrived.

The only good thing about the day was that I was home in time for neighbours.

Off tonight to meet my bro in York (he's coming up from Esses) but I just want to go to bed

Anyway, hope this explains why I am now saying "see ya tomorrow"

nice pram, egg - sure the car seat thing will sort itself out. Tis done now, no point worrying.

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 31/10/2007 14:45

gosh that was long.

Still, got it out of my system

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 15:27

Medal for Squonk needed....

Cya tomorrow, enjoy seeing your bro...

Egg · 31/10/2007 16:40

Bloody hell. I feel over my tears this morning! I blame hormones. No idea what kind of state I would have been in if I had experienced your morning.....

You prob wont see this before you go, but have a fabulous time with your bro, a few drinks I think are needed. Hope the rest of the day is the complete opposite.

ALso hope not too much damage done to your door.

Dropdeadfred · 31/10/2007 17:54

Hey Egg, have you thought of asking the ebay seller if they could give you a discount for buying two car seats?

marmitemad · 31/10/2007 18:06

Egg - I think I got confused over who you were buying the pram from (Ebay or MN) and didn't realise it was brand new. still I like the cherry colour but hope you can get a good deal somewhere on the car seats. Sorry to hear your tears but glad you are feeling better.

Squonk - what a horrendous day, hope you have a nice time tonight and can enjoy a few glasses of wine.

work was ok today but came home at lunchtime as boss was still too busy to see me and I was feeling bored and tired after spending all night coughing. Felt very strange to be at home without dd but managed to catch up on a couple of hours sleep and tonight we are all walking down to a weathervane pub (classy me eh) for dinner to try and avoid most of the trick or treaters.
