I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

Egg - I didn't explain fully but dd is only having cows milk as part of meals (porridge and cauliflower cheese) on the advice of my health visitor to start getting her used to it. Bottles are still made with formula. I too thought that formula was made with cows milk so if that was the problem we would have known sooner. I don't think you are interfering, I posted my ramblings in case anyone had any helpful advice/suggestions.

dd has gone to bed after toast and 1/2 youghurt for lunch. I am bored and want to go out but its raining here . I am also slightly wary as don't want a repeat of yesterday.

OP posts:
marmitemad · 26/10/2007 18:39

more vomiting here after formula from a carton which blows that theory out the window .

Oh so sorry for you marmite. At least it is the weekend now so DH can help out. How is DD this morning? Is she having bad nappies too?

Yep DS had cows milk on cereal etc from 6 months too.

Poor little monkey. Hope she is feeling better this morning. DS woke up at 5:20 screaming. No idea why. I think he might have another cold coming. He never went back to sleep properly .

Am having change of heart about double buggy. Thinking now of Jane Twin Two here as at least it will get through door, both seats can be used from birth or I can attach car seats. Had Jane for DS, no complaints except heavy, and this is LIGHTER than the single Slalom Pro I had. Any thoughts?

Better go. DS has wandered off upstairs and DH is having a lie in today (meeeee tomorrow ).

marmitemad · 27/10/2007 09:31

thanks for your support am feeling a bit better today and no sick yet (and dd has had milk and porridge) so hoping we can go to the halloween party later.

we did go out to the park in the end yesterday as I was so bored, dd loved the swings and wasn't sick while out.

jane buggy looks good although I think I would prefer to have both babies able to look out you need to choose what works best for you. Will you be taking it out from the house a lot? I know ds likes going to the swings and I guess this one is easier for that and its good that its lighter than the single although I don't understand how they have managed that.

I have had my lie in today (although still only until 9am due to loud dd and inability of dh to shut doors ).

OP posts:
Egg · 27/10/2007 13:46

Yes my DH is completely unable to shut doors etc when I have a lie in. I rarely get one...

I tend to go out of house at least once a day without fail, usually twice, and 99% of time will be with all three children . I do prefer the idea of them being side by side, but figure I can get one second hand hopefully, and see how we go for the first six months, and when they start wanting to look out more I can always change it, as we will be moving house by August next year and maybe maybe get a WIDER door.

Glad DD is keeping food down. DS went to the swings yesterday and spent the whole time eating an apple and spitting the skin out. Very embarrassing.

Right, back to my pram research. I am obsessed.

Dropdeadfred · 27/10/2007 22:32

Right...ladies I am so sorry. DD3 was really poorly again and I literally didn't have time to come and tell you that we were going on hols to Wales for a week...we did have nice time but dd3 wasn't well at all and didn't want to do anything..

We had laments of 'I don't want to build a sand castle Mummy...' I just wan tto go back to the holiday house and watch Thomas (the tank engine of course)...

Then she really scared us by stopping breathing properly and really struggling fr breath..turned out that it wasn't asthma which we first dreaded...but her nose was blocked and her tonsils so large that they completely blocked her throat and she couldn't breath!!!

Anyway, we ended up racing round Pembrokeshire at 1am in the morning to A & E and she was kept in ovenight...she has had two lots of AB's now and her tonsils still won't shrink..the consultant said he would be writing to our GP to recommend a tonsillectomy!!

Anyway - sosorry, I have really misse dyou all and will now read the thread t see what I've missed...I hope evryone's poorly LO's are on the mend. Egg I hope you had a lovely holiday?

Egg · 28/10/2007 15:32

Phewee, just glad you are ok. Kept meaning to text you to check but never managed to . You poor things sounds like your holiday was not that restful then. Were you visiting your wedding venue while there?????????? How is DD now? Everyone seems to be poorly.

Can't stop now as DS just awake after THREE HOUR NAP (so have to go and get him. It is DH's bday today, we are not really celebrating though, too tired...

Fred hols was so lovely, but seems sooooo long ago .

Back later, or if not, definitely tomorrow morning.

marmitemad · 28/10/2007 18:25

sorry to hear about your holiday trauma, Fred. Hope dd3 is feeling better now?

dh has been vomiting all day today so I have had to look after dd on my own with a constantly running nose, sore throat and headache but thankfully no vomiting by her. at least I got to go to my health spa last night . Halloween party was too much for the babies really but dd seemed to enjoy herself.

I'm off to work tomorrow so won't be logging on until the evening unless I manage to get on during lunchtime at work .

OP posts:
DoctorFrankenSquonk · 29/10/2007 08:11

HE'S GONE BACK TO WORK!!!

so back to normal chez squonk.... well, after I've finished putting everything back to normal

fred: glad you're back with us, but awful to hear about dd3! How is she now? Have you got a follow up appt with docs?

egg - Have been nosying at strange women with twins to see if they have a nice pram Haven't found one better than the ones you've found for yourself yet, but if I do I will ask them what it is.

marmite - sounds like you had a fun weekend as well!

Anyway, good to see that the girls are all back in town

Egg · 29/10/2007 09:03

Oh yay, everyone is back, although marmite is WORKING .

Squonk glad you have got shot of DP and no doubt DD1 as well, plus i think DD2 is at nursery this morning so you must be breathing a sigh of relief. DS has not got the hang of this clocks change thing, and was awake at 5:45 this morning. Thank god it is nursery that have to deal with him all morning . Next week he starts doing three mornings a week! Woohoo. He doesn't even bother to say goodbye to me anymore, he runs in, leaps on the formula one car and is off.

Hoping everyone is feeling ok today. Can't believe how sick so many of our families have been. Ok here (touch wood).

Yes please do question any ladies with double buggies, especially those with twins rather than one older child, but any will do, just to find out what they think of the buggy. Remember to make a note of the buggy too... Perhaps you should all carry notebooks and pens to write down your research?????????????

Dropdeadfred · 29/10/2007 09:59

hi girls...thanks for asking about dd3...~I have to take her back to GP's if her tonsils are no better in 2 days when the AB's run out...

My parents stayed with us last night before going to Gatwickthis morning to fly to Egypt ...I now have a hideous, enormous itcing, twitching colsore to add to my peely nose, red eyes and sealion cough...[sob]...bet DP is wondering how to break our engagement...

We did see the wedding hotel - it's lovely! And they cook a belting full English brekkie!!

Hope all our lo's are on the mend. Who has marmite's poorly babe when she goes to work?

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 29/10/2007 10:03

egg, best double for twins is the mountain buggy double. IMO of course.

can i join zappatas now? ebcause i am getting a zapp. [misdee finally caved in] lol.

Dropdeadfred · 29/10/2007 10:07

yay!! of course you can join...how are things with you and the family? oh and what colour zapp did you go for?

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 29/10/2007 10:07

okay egg, I'm ready to leave the house

Yaaaay!!!! misdee's a zappata

fred: you have my commiserations - doesn't look like it's a barrel of fun at your house at the mo. Hoping dd3 gets better really soon

Dropdeadfred · 29/10/2007 10:23

Thanks Squonk. Hows your family at the mo? Enjoying your car?

Egg · 29/10/2007 10:46

Squonk that pic somehow actually looks a bit like you!

LVOC of course you can join us. We would be honoured. Very keen to know colour of Zapp. Mine is on borrowed time now, in three months it will be in the shed . Will keep hold of it though as might occasionally get the chance to take DS out on his own .

I do like the mountain buggy, but it wont fit through the front door, and even if i get it second hand, with two carrycots, it will cost a fortune as will also need two new car seats. DH will JUST NOT ALLOW ME TO SPEND TOO MUCH!

Fred, glad the hotel was lovely, and a good breakfast is very important. Hope DDs tonsils are improving, although i guess if they are bothering her this much maybe it is time to get rid of them?

Marmite's dd has a childminder. She started with her a couple of weeks ago and seems really happy.

Poor trick or treaters... there is less than half a jar of chocs left for them and by Weds night there will be nothing . Poor Nemo and Dory, they are not getting very well fed in there. Trouble is I eat so much choc I don't then fancy anything healthy.

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 29/10/2007 10:48

the mountain buggy double the smallest width wise for doubles. 74cm i think.

zapp is an orange one, being bought from the lovely soupdragon. i can just fit it in diagnally in my bike trailer.

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 29/10/2007 10:53

LVOC - dp keeps on about getting a bike trailer but I am too wimpy - it seems awfully unprotected, but I know loads of people use them and if they weren't safe, they wouldn't be allowed to sell them. Were you worried when you first got yours? and am I being completely silly? I also worry about what the little buggers darlings can get up to in there whilst they are technically unsupervised... again, am I being silly?

I was going to go all out for halloween this year, got loads of stuff to decorate the house, and we were going to dress the kids up and get chocs for trick or treaters, but then my brother texted to say he's really close to me on Weds night and do I want to meet up with him? He lives in Essex, so it's too good an opportunity to miss, so dd1 and I will go and meet him and dp will probably slam the door on any trick or treaters so god knows what I'll come home to

LadyVictoriaOfCake · 29/10/2007 11:04

i dont use it on the road, i am not that brave. dd3 is securly strapped in and wears a bike helmet when in it.

Egg · 29/10/2007 11:07

LVOC, my inner front door (glass door a couple of feet inside hallway to keep out cold wind etc) is only 68cm . It rules out any side by side fitting through. Would still get mountain buggy or first wheels city twin as can remove carrycots and then fold buggy, but think I might be better off with second hand powertwin / twin two, and then get side by side if we get a bigger doorway when we move house...

I love those bike trailers but would only dare use one on a cycle path. Would be much too scared anywhere else!

Aha so Soupy is finally selling the Zapp. Didn't she buy two? Orange is a great colour for halloween! We have got an inflatable pumpkin and ghost to hang on the front door (97p from Tesco - bargain!), but nothing else .

Egg · 29/10/2007 12:06

Squonky I am sharing your beef strog recipe over on the multiples thread. Have not made it in ages as DS refused it the last couple of times, must try it again now he is so much more mature .

Done a bit of hoovering now. And some washing. I also ran the dishwasher. I am sure I had quite a few things i was supposed to do today but have forgotten .

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 29/10/2007 12:09

egg - if they like it, feel free to tell them it was my recipe.

However, if they hate it, I'm denying all knowledge

I have been tres busy today. Have rearranged the living room, hoovered everywhere, polished, cleaned, wiped and fluffed.

Unfortunately, I then left the littlies on their own in there for five minutes and it looks like a bomb's hit it again but it shouldn't take too long to clear up again (after neighbours methinks)

Egg · 29/10/2007 12:18

Ooops, already told them it was from you. Can't imagine they will hate it. It's yummy and even I can make it, so there shouldn't be any probs.

I am getting fed up with tidying, and then 2 mins later house is bombsite again.

Right, really had better go and get DS. He will be so exhausted after his early waking.

Dropdeadfred · 29/10/2007 13:04

oooh i want that recipe!!!

My friend has just had some sad news...she has a 4 month old dd and she has been 90% certain diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy..

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 29/10/2007 13:08

oh, that's sad, fred. Do they know how severe it is?

recipe dead simple - fry some beef, onions and mushrooms in a pan, add a touch of dijon mustard then top up with loads of cream.

voila! instant beef strogonoff without any alcohol so suitable for kids, but loads of cream so not suitable for anyone interested in being healthy
