what has happened to the Zappata roll call thread in chat?

I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

OP posts:
Egg · 17/10/2007 14:47

What happened in neighbours????? DS had coughing fit and burst into tears so I missed the end. I saw them sitting in the coffee shop and he was talking about his mum I think (think I have missed that storyline anyway). What happened next?

Want to go to local babyshop to look at BUGGIES but DS keeps delaying me by pooing / turning on tv etc.

Both shirts, definitely...

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 14:50

get him a cork

well...... it turns out that Rebecca (Oliver's mum) had a brief weekend fling which produced Oliver 25 years ago.

With............

PAUL!

So him and Elle are brother and sister

Egg · 17/10/2007 14:52

FUCK FUCK FUCK!

How FABULOUS.

They do look alike too!

Heheheeeeeeeeeeee.

Imagine that.

Bravo neighbours, come up trumps again.

Right, clean nappy on, just got to wait for Big Cook Little Cook to finish or he will cry...

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 15:33

did you find a buggy? have you bought one? are they fab?

hee hee

nobody tells us we can't talk about prams

Egg · 17/10/2007 16:26

Agh. Still so undecided.

Have been told by everyone that the double Nipper is fabulous, but it doesn't fit through the door AND DS hates it. It doesn't sit upright enough and he is slumped back and can't even sit up properly if he tries as it is such a bucket seat. I know it is not primarily for him but Nemo and Dory will be big too one day. But no-one else seems to have this problem.

City Twin does everything I want, but it seems so heavy compared to the super lightweight Zapp. DS likes it.

So, no purchase yet.

Anything exciting happening this pm? We just sat outside the house in the car for 20 mins while DS "drove". He does love to drive.

Egg · 17/10/2007 20:05

Evening Zappatas. Just to let you know i may well be offline until Sunday (or at the earliest Sat evening) as off to parents tomorrow and I think DH is packing up the laptop etc tonight as needs to take it with him so I don't think I will have internet access tomorrow morning before we go.

Hope everyone is well and Fred comes back soooooooooon. DH not home yet, had to work late and so is grumpy . On his way though and due here in 10 mins.

Keep on talking buggies while I am gone.

Oh and Marmite, enjoy Baby Show. Not sure when you are going but think it is on this weekend, might not be though, my brain is cack. I went two years ago when pg with DS and loved it. VERY hectic tho.

marmitemad · 17/10/2007 20:48

Egg - been meaning to ask how do I wash the quest covers? did you hand or machine wash and does the hood come off? (it got covered in oil in our friends car on holiday). Hope you have a nice weekend.

OP posts:
DoctorFrankenSquonk · 18/10/2007 07:52

egg - if you check in here, have a fabulous time with your family.

I spoke too soon about ds being fine. We've been up all night with one major long asthma attack - couldn't get him to take his inhaler thingy so off to docs today to see if they have a better idea

Anyway, don't worry if you don't see too much of me, he generally just wants to curl up on the settee with me when he's off colour so I won't be able to get to the puter.

Or he may be fine now it's daylight

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 18/10/2007 18:52

Doc gave him steroids and antibiotics so hopefully he'll be ok tonight

marmitemad · 18/10/2007 21:14

squonk - sorry to hear about ds, hope tonight is better.

OP posts:
DoctorFrankenSquonk · 19/10/2007 07:57

he was fine last night - he had three hours kip during the day (unheard of for my kids!) and then he went to bed at 9 and he's still asleep now

So.... do you get extra points for getting the word "zap" into a scrabble game?

hope egg's having a fantastic time with her family

What you up to today, marmite?

marmitemad · 19/10/2007 21:37

I could have put zappata if there'd been room . you are thrashing the pants off me but I'm still having fun.

My feet are very tired after all day at the baby show. Had a great time but didn't get to see everything and had a panic when leaving as I thought we had lost dd's steiff comforter, sent my friend back to look and then found it tucked inside dd's coat after a horrendous 2 1/2 hr journey home with dd screaming pretty much the whole time. feel like bad mummy as she was hungry and gobbled up dinner when we got home at 7:45pm.

OP posts:
Egg · 20/10/2007 19:20

Evening ladies. Just saying hello quickly before the big match. DH and his friend who is staying over tonight have gone to the pub for 45 mins beforehand and DS is asleep. Had a lovely two days with my parents. VERY tired today though after driving home and want an early night but can't miss the rugby.

Marmite, I never actually washed the covers as such, I got a bucket and some soapy water and scrubbed them before selling it to you! The hood does indeed come off, it just kind of slides up the frame, but still don't think it would be able to go in a machine.

Can only imagine the horror of losing the comforter (or thinking you had). DS has his blankie that he cannot survive without when sleeping, and if it ever went missing our lives would be in tatters! Glad all was ok in the end.

Squonk so sorry to hear about DS. Must be so scary. Although my DS coughs a lot it never sounds like he is going to stop breathing or anything, just endless coughing and like he might puke. I can imagine though that he would also not take the inhaler if he was in the middle of a coughing attack. He refused to take it at lunch today (am told to give it 3 times a day for 3 weeks, not just when he needs it), as he was too tired and emotional before we left my parents.

Right, am off now, I hope Fred will come back soon .

marmitemad · 20/10/2007 20:54

Egg - lovely to have you back . I can picture some scrubbing in store for me tomorrow although buggy is not unusable have just been putting cleaning it off.

Took dd to tescos on my own today (very hard work) as dh was catching up on sleep after having to be on the phone to India until 5am this morning and he doesn't get overtime/unsociable hours pay .

However have now had 2 peronis, 1 cobra and Indian takeaway and feel very floaty light and fairy like. we seem to be losing the rugby (not that I understand it).

my mum has bought dd a pumpkin halloween dress up outfit [shudder emoticon] as we appear to be going to a party next saturday.

ps. I have blisters despite wearing comfy trainers.

OP posts:
Egg · 22/10/2007 13:25

Aherm. WHERE ON EARTH is everyone. Really concerned about Fred now. She never stays away from us this long, and now Squonk has done a runner too .

I will be a bit quiet until Weds as my sis is due to arrive any mo with her three kiddies so we will be a bit mad here.

LOL marmite at DDs pumpkin outfit. My sis has given me a monster outfit for DS that used to belong to my nephew, but it is very cute. No parties for us though thank god. Have got an industrial sized tin of quality street for any trick or treaters ready and if no-one turns up I will save them for next year eat them all myself. I am eating for three you know .

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 22/10/2007 16:14

hello

marmite: glad you enjoyed the baby show, and egg, glad you enjoyed your parents.

Haven't done a runner (honest) but it's half term so if I switch the puter on first thing in the morning and keep nipping out to post on here like I usually do, dp will think I sit on the computer all day and we wouldn't want that

Ds seems a lot better but he's really, really clingy. He just screams "mummy" all the time, even if I'm right with him.

Will be a bit patchy at posting for the rest of the week due to flaming school holidays

Bit of a bugger about Saturday's game - I guess ds's brand new shirt didn't work as a good luck charm after all.

egg - can you text me every day at 2.06 to let me know what happened in neighbours? dp hates it with a passion and there is no chance I'll be able to watch it till next Monday - grr

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 23/10/2007 09:21

now who's done a runner?

marmitemad · 23/10/2007 19:45

I'm here but busy (as usual).

went to friends house today for a mums get together then went onto Rosemary conley class. Haven't been since before our holiday (about 6 weeks) but have somehow managed to lose 2 lbs, just have to keep going now .

Then My mum brought dd home so I could go to the dentist for another filling. wasn't as bad this time but still not pleasant and one more in January to go.

Dh was working from home this afternoon as we had a window person round to quote on replacing the aluminium double glazed windows. we are really struggling with the condensation and it can't be good for our health especially dds. quote was quite scary, £3500 so we might do just the bedrooms for now.

Dh then went out for works dinner and left me with a purple screaming baby who I was trying to feed dinner to. Bizarre behaviour as she was eating but still screaming. I gave her some nurofen in the end but she stopped crying when I picked her up, so I don't know whether she was in pain or having a tantrum. at least she's gone to bed ok and I have the evening free to play on pc .

OP posts:
Egg · 24/10/2007 15:10

Hello sorry sis and family left about half an hour ago. Been hectic. Am exhausted. So is DS. He is now watching tubbies. Squonk have missed neighbours all week. Did watch a bit on Monday but was doing other stuff and no idea what went on. Sorry forgot it was half term and that you would have not only DD1 but DP home too .

Marmite hope DD is ok now. Earlier in the year I called an ambulance once for DS as he went completely mental, was rolling round on the floor, rolling his eyes, didn't want to look at the light at the windows, screaming and screaming. I think in hindsight it was his first full blown tantrum . Maybe DD was so desperately hungry for some reason that her tummy hurt and she was ok once she had eaten.

Car is back from service. They collected at 9:30 this morning and have delivered it back clean! Hurrah.

Anyone tried texting Fred to see if she is ok. Might try her later. Hope there is nothing wrong, she never stays away from us normally.

marmitemad · 25/10/2007 09:58

had a horrendous night here after more ascreaming during dinner. dd repeatedly sick in her cot until there was nothing left but stomach acids and she was still retching . called nhs direct at 11:30pm as she was very clammy, pale and drowsy but nurse said nothing to worry about. she slept until 7am and then quite unhappy again but took some milk and ate her porridge so we shall see.

MIL coming over today as dh has gone to tunbridge wells with car.

OP posts:
Egg · 25/10/2007 10:30

God sounds awful marmite. Hope she is on the mend now. DS used to puke in bed a lot, in fact used to puke everywhere a lot so I am a puke expert. Thank god he is better now and only pukes when unwell like most children. Poor DD sounds like something disagreed with her.

If my MIL was here today it would be a face rather than a face!

marmitemad · 25/10/2007 13:51

Thought things were improving here but have just come back from Wokingham as dd threw up everywhere in Robert Dyas (almost my favourite shop ). Glad MIL was there to help me clear up but we came straight home. Rang drs but they are full today so a dr is going to ring me later.

MIL has gone home now so I can go to bed and I was being optimistic with the grin!! although she isn't too bad just seems to criticise my decisions/actions sometimes.

OP posts:
DoctorFrankenSquonk · 26/10/2007 09:11

oh marmite - your poor dd

good luck at the docs.

Have been very busy doing "stuff" with dp - mostly consisting of me doing lots of work while he makes a mess in the name of tidying up. Can't wait for Monday

egg - don't worry about neighbours, it's generally fairly easy to catch up

marmitemad · 26/10/2007 09:35

dr was rubbish, didn't ask any questions like nhs direct and then said it was just a virus which I know is probable but didn't make me feel any happier.

dd was pretty grumpy all afternoon so we read some stories and then watched mary poppins which she was clapping and dancing to . she managed to eat 2 pieces of toast for tea and most of her bedtime milk.

We had a good night but has now thrown up again after morning milk. Her milk last night was from a carton and this mornings was from the powder pot so not sure if that is linked? MIL is convinced its the cows milk which she had at Sunday lunch, Tuesday AM and Wed AM, I think she would have been sick straight away if it was this?

OP posts:
Egg · 26/10/2007 13:23

Hmmm, if she was on formula anyway it is unlikely she has a prob with cow's milk as that's what formula is made from. However when I changed to actual cow's milk instead of formula I did do it gradually, ie half and half for just one bottle, then every bottle, then gradually onto complete cow's milk. Forgive me for interfering, and I know everyone is different, but I think you are supposed to wait until a year before you take them off formula onto cow's milk as they need the extra vitamins added into formula until then. Of course you may mean that she had cow's milk on cereal / in food etc so I might be an interfering old Egg for nothing . Sorry anyway, as I hate sticking my nose in most of the time (except for a good old gossip).

Anyway, hoping she is feeling better, at least she seems happy most of the time, in which case it shouldn't be anything too worrying, just nasty for you both. DS threw up in public a few times, once in Waitrose and it went everywhere, all over him and he stank. I just had to race home.

Gah, my phone is ringing, which means it cuts off my damn internet connection (never used to).

Squonk, I know I have said it but I DO NOT ENVY YOU having DP around every school hols. I get annoyed with DH at weekends... He is useless at tidying / cleaning etc, has to be asked and thanked, and it's easier to just get on with it when he is not here.

Been wondering what the dodgy smell is in my house. Realise that under the chair I am sitting on is a nappy sack with a stinky nappy from last night that i forgot to take outside to the wheely bin .

No news on Fred?????????????????????????????????????????????
