I've lost it from my watched threads and can't find it by searching either, am I just being stupid?

Ahhhh at your DS Squonk! My DS does that too sometimes, he loves to sing. He sings Twinkle Twinkle (minus the real words), plus the theme tunes of Postman Pat / Balamory / Bob the Builder (Postman Pat goes something like this... "Pa Pa Pa, Pa Pa Pa, Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Paaaaaaa", but the tune is spot on!!!.

Poor DS has had to go back to bed two hours after getting up. He was sobbing on and off and really grumpy. Means we will miss his music group thing and probably swimming again this afternoon. He coughed all night on and off, but hardly coughs in day, have made him appt at docs tomorrow morning as he gets so tired and fed up if he is up all night coughing .

What is everyone up to today?

Forgot to say hello to Marmite, it seems ages but it's only been a few days!!! Glad DD has settled at childminder well, it makes you feel a bit put out that she doesn't miss you but it is far better than her screaming for you all the time you are gone.

Shite, DS is shouting "mummy". I thought he was sleeping. WTF am I going to do with him all morning if he is grumpy but wont sleep? Bugger.

Egg · 16/10/2007 09:35

Squonk forgot to say thanks for the link. I saw it a while ago but there are new posts on there now. It is so tricky but i think I am sold on City Twin now here again in case you forgot which one it was!.

marmitemad · 16/10/2007 09:41

dd "sings" along with me (or she's desperately trying to say stop!!

Egg - sorry to hear about poorly ds, will he watch tv??

Are you all on facebook? my RL name is Hayley Elizabeth Hammond if you want to look for me so we can set up a scrabble game (my pic is the one on my MN profile)

I took a sudoku magazine in my hospital bag and have only just finished it!!

we are going out to baby group in 10 mins and then on to visiting my mum and dad who have just come back from 3 weeks in cyprus and are desperate to see dd.

I think that pram was my favourite and it looks pretty similar to my Britax Vigour 4.

A lady near me has it in red and is using the carry cots at the moment, the babies look very comfy in it.

OP posts:
DoctorFrankenSquonk · 16/10/2007 11:30

egg - I like that pram I didn't realise that the thread was an old one, I saw it last night and thought of you.

dp didn't get to see the Police, btw - he got as far as the venue before finding out that Sting has a throat infection and the concert was cancelled so he spent an hour trawling round Manchester looking for a chippy to buy a Hollands meat pie and couldn't find one so he came home and watched "have I got news for you" instead.

marmite - am off to look for you on facebook. Will start a scrabble game with you if I find you.

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 16/10/2007 11:32

marmite - found you and asked you to be my friend... can't seem to start a scrabble game until you've accepted me

Egg · 16/10/2007 13:05

I am steering clear of facebook as I don't need anything else to keep me from cleaning / hoovering etc. My house is such a tip and I must get off the computer NOW. I am knackered. DS finally in bed. He cheered up when we went into town and I got him a noddy balloon. He ate some beans on toast and watch Teletubbies before I took him upstairs. Going to lie on sofa and read Heat magazine now.

Marmite, can you ambush the lady near you and ask her what she thinks of her buggy? I have yet actually see someone to ask them their honest opinion.

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 16/10/2007 15:16

egg, anything to report from Heat?

Proud to know you girls, and proud to be a zappata

Egg · 16/10/2007 16:19

Gawd Heat was lacking this week. About 8 pages about Take That live, about 8 pages on how Victoria Beckham is spotty, and tons of fashion I can't buy cos my gut is too big...

Egg · 16/10/2007 16:29

Just found DS wandering round with my MN tote bag on his shoulder, and then I noticed he had put two potatoes in the washing machine .

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 16/10/2007 16:31

aww bless!

Egg · 16/10/2007 16:49

He is now scurrying around pushing some plastic fruit in his toy pushchair. My faith in him has been restored. He has had a poo though, and I have got as far as removing his trousers, but can't face doing the nappy. He looks cute in his little red top and little red socks and no trousers tho...

Oh, and I am damn proud of being a Zappata and having become such good friends with you lot because of it. Buggers, all of them...

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 16/10/2007 16:52

do the nappy

Egg · 16/10/2007 17:34

Ohhhhhhhhh the link doesn't quite work. It links, and opens, but the frame is blank. Is it horrible?

There was only a streak last time, but he has now managed a full on mind blowing proper one, his first since Sunday night. He is a happy man indeed. He is taking DH's beers out of the beer fridge and arranging them, stopping to pretend to drink them occasionally...

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 16/10/2007 17:39

am rofling at him drinking his daddy's beer

link was a piccie of a clothes peg for your nose sorry it didn't work.

marmitemad · 16/10/2007 18:50

has someone been zappata bashing?? Am shocked as you are all very welcoming and have accepted me (I think) without my being fully entitled .

Egg - Will ambush the lady next time we see her on a walk. Am very of your MN tote bag.

Squonk - Have started a scrabble game, got the most awful letters ever, Q, 3 i's and 3 e's!! what on earth do you do with that?

Went into work this afternoon, am very to find I am being squeezed into my old office with the 2 people doing my old job. Will have no personal room at all and have 3 boxes of stuff to put somewhere .

OP posts:
DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 07:51

grr - marmite, that box room sounds a bit off!

you could always do QI

And not so much zappata bashing, but bashing of everyone on here who talks about prams (which we don't, actually, apart from helping egg choose one which I for one think is completely acceptable on a parenting forum )

Egg · 17/10/2007 08:14

Yes and as I said on that thread, surely I am allowed to get a new pram considering the Zapp would be slightly small for THREE KIDS.

Gah.

How is everyone today? Marmite I am at them expecting you to share with two others in your box room. I would tell them to stick their job where the sun shines and we can all open a buggy shop together somewhere .

Taking DS to docs today at 9:10. He was not bad last night and I slept SOLID from 9:30 to 5:30, not even waking for a wee! I do mean that i didn't need to, not that I weed in the bed . He coughed a lot at 5:30 though and I never got back to sleep.

He was so excited this morning as i found Noddy on Channel 5. Dont normally watch it as always got Cbeebies on instead, but was actively searching for Noddy as he is obsessed at mo. He danced so much when the music came on, stamping his feet, he nearly went through the floor...

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 08:41

noddy's fab - ds loves him (even if I can't see the attraction ) and then you've got Fifi and the flowertots, Peppa Pig and then of course Thomas and his friends.... then if you really want you can switch over to BBC2 and watch last nights In The Night Garden... God I'm sad!

well done for sleeping (almost) a full night. Ds decided at 4am that it was time to get up and play and I didn't get back to sleep till 5.30 and the alarm went off at 6 so we will be tired later on.

dd2 still asleep which is typical because this morning I was going to be at Asda for 8.30 - looks like we'll be lucky to get there for 10.30 now!

Good luck at the docs, egg. Make sure you tell them that he always gets persistent coughs, it's not just a one off. Saying that, since I got stroppy with the docs about ds's constant, persistent coughs and his struggling to breathe in the middle of the night, they gave me loads of asthma meds for him and he's been absolutely fine since!

marmitemad · 17/10/2007 09:54

I am going to wait and see how bad it is in the box room but the buggy shop sounds fun (am feeling strangely excited about taking SIL No. 2 pram shopping in 2 weeks).

Office is quite large actually but not big enough for 3 people, several cabinets and all my stuff also can get quite busy as the post and location boards are in there, in fact I used to be in there all on my own until I went and got pg and they decided they needed 2 people to cover for my maternity leave and as I'm coming back to a new role which was a planned career progression before I got pg the others are carrying on.

Squonk - your go on scrabble (I got even more rubbish letters after Qi)

I am always surprised at how wound up people get on MN, it is a parenting forum, don't look if you aren't interested, whats so difficult about that?

How did the docs go? and where is Fred?

OP posts:
DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 09:55

am just about to set off for asda... will play my turn when I get back

Egg · 17/10/2007 13:14

You back from asda yet?

Having a lovely day today, after yesterday's crappy start. However DS has been given an inhaler to see if it is mild asthma, so we are under instructions to give him two puffs, three times a day, for three weeks and see if there is a difference. If there is, then it is mild asthma, if not, who knows... He loves the inhaler, has been running off to play with it. Have had to hide it!

Then we went and spent 1.5 hrs at the swings, where he was in a great mood as hasn't been since before hols. It was bright and sunny for first time since we got back, and I met a lovely mum with two girls and a new baby boy who lives in the next road to me, so spent ages chatting to her and her mum about babies, buggies etc.

Then DS has eaten all his lunch, and gone to bed by 12:30 like a good boy!

Driving to London tomorrow to stay at my parents for two nights for my dad's bday (73 tomorrow!). My sis and kids are over tomorrow afternoon for cake and staying for early supper with DS, then DH is coming there from work so we can have dinner with my parents. Really excited it's seems ages since i saw my family .

Must turn of computer and get on with hanging up the washing, wiping up baked beans etc.

Oh, final question, to Squonk and Fred (where IS Fred????), if your littlies eat fish fingers, how many do they eat? I give DS three, but he would happily eat four or five if I let him. He is not a skinny lad anyway so don't want to let him eat half the packet... My nieces who are 8 and 6 only eat 3. Is he a greedy bugger?

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 13:29

am back.

egg, to answer your fish finger question - mine will eat 2 if I do them with chips or smiley faces or something, if they are just having fish fingers pretty much on their own then they will eat 4 or 5

Dd1 on the other hand will eat several packets in one go

Bought dp and ds an England rugby shirt for Saturday so hope they bring good luck.

your visit to your parents sounds fab - have you not seen them since they came to the house? Glad you're chatting to local mums - it's nice to have some other kids for the littlies to play with.

And, yeah, where IS fred? I've seen her about on other threads but not for the last couple of days I don't think.

FRREEEEEE-EEEEED Where AAAAAARE you?

Egg · 17/10/2007 13:38

Aherm I am a stalker and I searched for Fred as was a bit worried and found she was VERY chatty yesterday on about 87 other threads, but not with us [sob]. Freeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddd, come back, we love you and miss you.

Squonk thanks for fish finger info. I think you are right in that DS had them with beans just now, and ate three and his beans, but if he had had some form of potato he would not have wanted more (he tried to take mine from my plate).

DS has a rugby t-shirt from M&S (official England merchandise though) which says "Nice Try" and has a rugby ball on it. He has been wearing it for a few weeks now and it has just been washed so he can wear it again for the big match.

I last saw my parents five weeks ago I think, which is a long time for us (used to see them at least every couple of weeks). Sooooooooo excited.

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 14:11

fred! get back here!

dp has loads of England rugby shirts, but his most recent one was from the 2003 world cup. Now we don't know whether he should wear that one because it's been a bit lucky or whether he should risk the potentially bad luck of the new shirt. Perhaps it will be cold and he can wear them both.

did you see neighbours? Oliver and Elle? wow! didn't spot that one coming (although it's neighbour so I probably should have)

right, off to try and make the house look presentable.
