Really Issy? I was at school with all of them. The Whetstones I mean.

LegoLeia · 30/08/2007 14:02

Pete Doherty. He was such a nice young man, and starred in the school musical.

becklespeckle · 30/08/2007 14:18

My Gran used to babysit for Robert Nankieville (aka Bobby Davro).
I was at school with one of the finalists in that Bollywood Star reality show a few of years ago - interestingly she had knocked about 5 years off of her age...

Not a great claim to fame but as close as I get!

InTheseShoes · 30/08/2007 14:19

Mrs Grimwig/Jennster, isn't it a small world? Also from our old school was Andrew Fillis who played Linsey Corkill's (Claire Sweeney, who I also knew, but not through school) husband Gary Stanlow in Brookside.

InTheseShoes · 30/08/2007 14:21

Claire Sweeney who has also knocked at least two years off her age as she was older than me and now appears to be younger according to websites I have just sadly googled...

Issy: Remember KW and HW at school as very tall, very nice (both older than me). I have seen HW in the last 10 years but can't for the life of me think where. RW the year above me. I remember their mother as being a bit involved in the PTa (as it were) and being rather scary but very nice

Just read the other end of the thread and remembered I can claim both Matt Allwright and Christian Bale - both from primary school, although since the Bales moved regularly that doesn't mean I was at the same school as liger (and CB was a lot younger than me - I was a contemporary of one of his sisters).

debbiedlemur · 30/08/2007 16:02

I was at school with Stephen Tompkinson (actor, Ballykissangel, Wild at Heart etc). He always played the lead in the school plays even then.

PuppyDogsTails · 30/08/2007 18:15

dh was in a school band with Chris Martin.

brandnewhelsy · 30/08/2007 18:17

Loads of sportspeople. I went to Loughborough.

IgglePiggleWoo · 30/08/2007 18:22

I was friends with Sue Turton - who is a C4 news presenter (usually sport) these days !

And my ex was at school with the chap who plays Peter Pascoe in Dalziel and Pascoe - although he went by another name then ! We used to hang out in the same gang and he was lovely !

hannahsaunt · 30/08/2007 19:02

Just found out that Martha Kearney went to my school - I feel quite pleased . I really like her.

Lordashley · 30/08/2007 20:27

Was at same school at same time as Jay Kay from Jamiroquai and Matthew MacFadyen. Didn't know either of them but did share the stage of the school theatre with Matthew MacFadyen - I think I was probably a tree (or some similar minor role).

NotAnOtter · 30/08/2007 20:28

victoria derbyshire is a radio 5 live presenter

Nanoon · 30/08/2007 20:34

I went to school with all of Supergrass and the model Laura Bailey (had a thing with Richard Gere a few years back) although her real surname is Burkes.

woodstock3 · 30/08/2007 22:13

i knew claudia winkleman at uni: she was terrifying, glacially cool. and emily maitlis, of tv news totty fame, who was really nice but completely unrecognisable from current incarnation - she wasn't blonde then, or designer dressed, or perched on a desk flashing her legs at anyone. but at least she's not lying about her age.
oh and dh lived next door to one of them out of blur but i always forget which one (not damon albarn).

ghosty · 31/08/2007 02:11

Oh, I just remembered ... I was pretty friendly with Emma Boughton at uni (I think she is a Radio 1 DJ now ... or she was at some point ... known as Emma B)
She was really nice ... she went out with a bloke I went out with (after me) and did the same course as most of my housemates.
Lost touch after we all left, which is a pity as I liked her a lot. Anyhoo ...
