Emergency new thread, with suitable decorations.
Fill your boots...

Grubby HBFs in leather are in our imaginations residence.
Sense of humour required, and tolerance for domestic tedium.

Ahem
I can deal with my HBFs thank you! Wink

The usual - busy at work plus added dental appointments & routine mammogram, and FancyMan has been round the last couple of evenings - I've barely turned my laptop on and my phone is too shitty for MNing on

Right, time for work - hopefully will have a quieter evening.....

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/10/2019 11:07

Yes - that's the ultimate quote for putting on promotional posters for any entertainment: "did not fall asleep" Grin

LetUs - glad I'm not the only one utterly lost by Watchmen. I was horrified to find out on Twitter that the opening sequence in Tulsa is true though. Shock Angry twitter.com/ReginaKing/status/1186386141823590401

Flying archeologist only has 2 episodes on BBC4 Sad stupid iplayer.

I need to crack on with work.

Saved £500 today by being a difficult costumer Halloween Grin

ApricotCrush · 23/10/2019 18:22

Evening. Horribly misty here this morning, I had to put my lights on when I went food shopping. Confused

I take it Watchmen and Catherine the Great are on a channel we don't have, as I haven't seen them advertised.

Well done WW, that's great.

Dublin Murders got rather complicated, we both nodded off. Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/10/2019 18:51

Impressive Wicked - how did you manage that then?

I'm watching them both through Sky Apricot, and Oh dear re Dublin Murders Sad

I'm meant to be cooking tea...

LetUsPrey · 23/10/2019 20:37

Evening wenches. Oh heck re Dublin Murders Apricot. I’ve started Name of the Rose which I think is BBC2. I’ve read the book and remember the film from ages ago.

Ah I knew you’d be able to fit the HBFs Fancy regardless of how busy you are Grin

Bloody well done that wench Wicked!

I’ve downloaded Flying Archaeologist so will probably get round to that in about March.

Work is being as crap as usual but with added shenanigans

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 23/10/2019 21:33

Well I wasn't that difficult, just questioned if they had used a certain part on the balcony thingy I did, which was on the invoice, turned out they didn't need to use it, but had forgot to remove it from the invoice Hmm

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 23/10/2019 22:09

Oh. That's entirely reasonable, and well spotted wicked

FFS at LetUs work. And Fancy's stupidly busy life.

Hayloft for me.

OP posts:
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/10/2019 07:07

It's absolutely pitch black outside. I really don't like the dark mornings. Woe Sad

And the house insurance is due for checking/renewal - double woe Sad

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 24/10/2019 07:53

Morning wenches. Excellent that you spotted it Wicked and successfully challenged them.

It is dark isn’t it? Looks a bit wet too. Hmm, no I don’t like it.

Careful of the temperature of that melted chocolate Helen.

I’ll be in the cupboard.

FancyFancy · 24/10/2019 08:50

Morning.

Still busy!
well done for spotting that!

I've started on Name of the Rose too letus. Also have read the book and seen the film ages ago. Not sure if that's helping or not - it helps in one way as the characters are more familiar, but confuses as there seem to be lots of bits added re Adso's backstory and those heretics/Euro Robin Hood and his Merry Men that I don't remember. Well I remember all the stuff about heresies, but not in the way they've shown it so far. Still, it's interesting so far, if devoid of faf.

Right, work................

ApricotCrush · 24/10/2019 16:04

Afternoon wenches. DH went out this morning at 7 o'clock to go to some golf thing, seemed like the middle of the night. It will be lighter next week in the mornings, but we have to pay for it in the afternoons. Don't know which is the worst. Sad

Excellent WW.

Thanks for the heads-up on The Name of the Rose, will look for it on the iPlayer. I vaguely remember the film, but haven't read the book.

We're going to the caravan some time tomorrow to close it up for the winter, so if I'm not here, have a good weekend all. Halloween Smile

LetUsPrey · 24/10/2019 20:50

Evening wenches.

Am all the kinds of tired. Not looking forward to the clocks going back at the weekend.

Happy shutting up the caravan for the winter Apricot!

I am definitely going to —bed— the hayloft early tonight to —sleep— enjoy many and varied shenanigans with HBFs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 24/10/2019 22:27

Evening. Has been very wet here all day.

Watched Logan this evening which was v. good. (Not just because of the FAF.) But now I'm a bit tired and I still need to log into work because I am out tomorrow morning. Doom. (Not 'doom' at going out - 'doom' at the work thing.)

I don't think I'll try Name of the Rose - I have enough on the box that I'm not watching already Grin I did see a review where the main complaint seemed to be that there were too many monks Hmm

I can't believe it's time to shut up the caravan already Apricot Sad At least the clocks are going back so we get an extra hour's sleep.. theoretically. Obvs DS will wake up at his usual time, so he can go play x-box - he'll be happy and we'll be asleep. Grin

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 24/10/2019 23:53

I think i saw that review helen Grin

Yay for the extra hour in bed at the weekend.

LetUsPrey · 25/10/2019 08:06

Morning wenches. Grin at too many monks

Bleurgh. Suppose it’s Friday though. Have a fab day out Helen.

Need to give myself a shake . Real life is a bit..: dunno - not really mustering any get up and go for it.

FancyFancy · 25/10/2019 08:45

letus

All colder wet weather doesn't help. Still, I will be spending most of my day indoors, so won't see much of it........

Laters.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/10/2019 09:28

for LetUs - I'm right there with you - I think it's the shortening days as much as anything, but it's not fun.

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 25/10/2019 11:14

Lot of hugs Letus.

I feel the same, just found out that the neighbour in the apartment under me is going to rent out her apartment, so I'm really worried some weirdo is going to move in. I've been feeling at peace lately with living here but not anymore.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/10/2019 15:27

Or, wicked, maybe your new BFF will move in and enhance your life forever? Or maybe it's a perfectly normal person who is moving in, and slightly worried about 'what if the person above me is really noisy?' Or it's just a nice quiet person who you'll barely know exists. Hang in there...

It's been dry here this morning, so I have been for a 2 hour yomp through the countryside - much time was spent debating what the farmers were doing with various machinery out and about and how the water levels/drainage systems were working in the fields (this is what passes for rural entertainment!) and I got home just before it rained and exactly on time to pick up DS. Parenting result! (Yesterday was less of a result when I realised I'd double-booked DS' holiday activity and his swimming lesson. Oops. Fortunately his teacher is lovely and let me move the swimming lesson.)

Tonight I am going out to SportingActivity for a Family Argument evening out. Think of me kindly... and tell Athos to run me a hot bath please - I'm already a bit knackered from the walk - even with no uppy-downy bits .

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 25/10/2019 19:42

Evening wenches. It has not stopped raining all day. Rain rain fucking rain.

Or Wicked your new neighbour could be an HBF who loves cats and Star Wars Grin

Thanks for the cwtches and kind thoughts. They helped.

I think you’re right about the changing season and it getting darker.

Athos said he’ll have it all hot and steamy for you Helen.

I’m watching many bridal programmes.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 25/10/2019 20:29

It's doing the 'damp thing' again here (also niagw) - this morning's walk was full of slippy-slidey bits in lieu of uppy-downy bits, so they will now be slippy-slidey-sploshy bits.

You'll be glad to hear that I've managed not to have an argument yet Grin I am eating chips. (Oink!) And salad (becuse healthy eating is also available).

Are the bridal programmes full of bridezillas LetUs - always entertaining in a slightly OMG Shock sort of way. We were watching an Eat well For Less last night, which is entertaining and leaves us with a warm fuzzy glow that we don't buy brands, and after last night's effort, that we make our own sandwiches for lunch Grin

Have you got the HBI innuendo fest tonight LetUs or is that not happening at the moment?

Hope apricot has got on ok at the caravan, and Fancy has got back from work.

I am looking forward to a hot and steamy bath Athos when I get home. Wishful thinking rules ok.

LetUsPrey · 25/10/2019 21:20

It was a lot of quite heartwarming stuff on the ones I watched, especially Curvy Brides Boutique. The two women who own and run the shop are bloody wonderful. I know what you mean about the entertainment of a bridezilla though Grin

No sportingactivity on a Friday any more unfortunately

FancyFancy · 25/10/2019 21:55

NO MORE HBI?

Am lounging around doing very little this evening. I think I've earned the right Grin

Ooh yes ww - just imagine if it were some faf that moved in?!

LetUsPrey · 25/10/2019 22:32

You definitely have Fancy

I’m still —making— encouraging DS1 to go on Sundays so don’t die Fancy!

Chateau for me
