Emergency new thread, with suitable decorations.
Fill your boots...

Grubby HBFs in leather are in our imaginations residence.
Sense of humour required, and tolerance for domestic tedium.

Pleased to hear you feel —Athos— on the mend Apricot.

DS1 did eventually choose some shoes. He doesn’t bloody rush though.

I believe that probably falls under Sod’s Law Wicked. I’m thinking of going full Margo Leadbetter with 1970s style kaftans and turbans. It’ll cover a multitude of things. Who called on you?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 27/12/2019 19:05

The nice next door neighbour, she needed to borrow baking paper (?)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 27/12/2019 20:45

Greetings Wenches! I am returned from the LandOfNoInternet, and was back to my primary function of Cat Bed the second I sat down Grin

Shock at shrinking clothes. How bloody inconsiderate of them. (DH recommends this book www.waterstones.com/book/the-obesity-code/dr-jason-fung/9781925228793 to un-shrink them.) Glad to hear that illing wenches are on the mend now.

We have had a very nice time with in-laws - DS even slept in a bit (too may late nights) and, apart from actual Christmas Day, didn't leap to get up immediately when he did wake up. That would be the lack of x-box/internet, I suspect!

I am now the proud owner of lots of chocolate, and a very lovely book The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse I probably have other things but those are what spring to mind...

Did you happen to have some Wicked? I think I’ve got some but it’s a bit of a way for her to come Grin

Yaaayyyy Helen, back in internet land! I shall look at MrHelen’s recommendation. I’ve seen the book you got and nearly put it on my list . I may treat myself and get it.

Jigsaw is progressing nicely. Watching a bit of tv and then hayloft.

LetUsPrey · 28/12/2019 10:01

Morning wenches.

Happy Saturday (it is Saturday isn’t it?) Quite sunny here. House is a bit of a tip so I suppose I should do something about it.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/12/2019 11:01

We're booked into Star Wars this afternoon, so I too should crack on with tidying the house.
Or sticking Houdini Hen back in the run.

Morning
Still coughing away here - in fact I've been coughing so hard I seem to have induced a period (yes I know it doesn't work like that, but it feels like it Grin ) - first one in over a year. Splendid.

Consequently I need to go into town for supplies, not a great hardship as the fresh air will be welcome & I need some onions for soup making - made stock from the turkey carcass yesterday & it smells fab

ApricotCrush · 28/12/2019 16:15

Afternoon wenches. Quiet day here, went to Sainsbos for supplies and sod all since. They didn't have any milk and haven't had any since before Christmas. Shock Same at another local shop. Fortunately I always keep some in the freezer in case of emergencies. Confused

LetUsPrey · 28/12/2019 19:23

Shock at no milk Apricot!

Hope you’re enjoying/you’ve enjoyed Star Wars as much as we did Helen.

Note to self: no excessive coughing. I had hoped mine had fucked off completely but I shall bear surprise appearances in mind.

We’ve been out with LovelyMIL to Local Chippy With Excellent Reputation. It was bloody delicious and I can’t move very much now.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/12/2019 21:00

Evening. Well I can rate Star Wars as highly enjoyable cheese Grin DH and I were very clearly on a similar page throughout, i.e. 'How does her outfit stay so clean?' And 'How can the son of Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher be so... well... not very good looking?' (Apologies to LetUs and Wicked but he just does nothing for me - or DH! [Grin] )

Shock at the milk Apricot! I had to buy more today too. Fortunately Co-op was fully stocked.

Hope that Fancy's soup has been made and the fresh air has helped the cough.

LetUsPrey · 28/12/2019 21:31

at Helen

I did find myself thinking that the outfit stayed remarkably clean and really that’s not a practical colour. Also the drapey bits at the sides were annoying me because they just looked like she’d trip over them Grin

Have done some more of my jigsaw. I’ll finish it tomorrow. Living the dream.

FancyFancy · 28/12/2019 21:34

Evening
The fresh air was indeed therapeutic. As was the pink wine with dinner. One last job to do then a nice hot shower followed by watching a film with Brew, left over Christmas treats and, realistically, being a thermal cat bed.

Dangerously close to a yellow card there helen Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 28/12/2019 22:40

LOL - it was very much a case of 'Do not question the force plot.' Grin I was also Hmm at the drapey bits of material - when she was doing that training run thingy I was thinking "She's going to trip on those and go arse over..." Grin There are many, many things in that film that do not bear considering in any depth at all. But it was entertaining. And lots of Kylo for his fans.

In other news, I have cleaned my teeth - to stop myself eating any more chocolate tonight.

I really need to go to the hayloft now, but I'm being a catbed and it would be rude of me to disturb her.

LetUsPrey · 29/12/2019 09:27

Morning wenches.

I thought the same thing at the same time Helen when she was running Grin. Lots of lovely Kylo though. Angry, fighty Kylo.... I just need a moment.

Shit night’s sleep woohooooo. Really enjoying these hot episodes

Usual Sunday here except for no sportingactivity.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/12/2019 11:06

Is that the same sort of question as 'How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?' Where I believe the answer is infinite? Or at least 'as many as will comfortably fit - and the others can wait their turn outside.' (I can't remember what the answer was in Good Omens)

(Also, there was dripping wet Kylo, and angsty Kylo.)

Anyway. It is morning. The house is a tip. Business as usual then.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/12/2019 11:46

Since I'm such a domestic goddess of course I had baking paper at home I use them for chips.

I'm supposed to be cleaning the house, I haven't started yet.

I'm so tempted to start a jigsaw myself Smile

Impressive about your period there Fancy, my cough usually just induce pee Confused

I freeze milk sometimes too Apes, it's great when you discover you're out of milk for the coffee.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/12/2019 11:52

How unpractical was my thought on Rey's costume as well Hmm

It's alright if you don't appreciate Kylo Helen, more for me and Letus. I have to say though that the female Kylo fans are the most perverted bunch of women I ever met. Worse than wenches, if that's even possible. And tons of filthy fanfic GrinBlush

FancyFancy · 29/12/2019 13:08

Afternoon
Grin @ ww for having baking parchment for chips

Have achieved very little so far today apart from a lie in - most welcome, the first morning for a long time when I haven't been woken by a cough Smile Planning to do lots more of nothing, in the name of recuperation, although I may tackle some ironing. As I can do that while watching tv - have the all-female Ghostbusters taped.

LetUsPrey · 29/12/2019 17:09

But of course they’re worse than wenches Wicked. Wenches are pure in their appreciation of HBFs and their talents Grin

I’ve been watching Harry Potter films.

Lots more of nothing is an excellent plan Fancy.

Haven’t done the ironing. Might do it later. Might not. Trying to prepare for work tomorrow.

ApricotCrush · 29/12/2019 17:16

Evening. I seem to have a lie in every morning, which means I'm behind with everything for the rest of the day. Still, it doesn't matter.

DD & Co. are coming round for a turkey curry shortly, and that's the end of it for another year. We seem to be preparing for Christmas for months and then it's over in a flash.

DH is watching football, it's not going well...

LetUsPrey · 29/12/2019 17:24

I suspect the football has just picked up a bit for MrApricot...

My mum was saying the same thing - or it may have been LovelyMIL - that it’s planning and prep and then Christmas is over just like that

Forget that about the football - DH tells me that the goal’s been disallowed Sad

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/12/2019 19:12

I love my new vacuum cleaner btw, it's almost fun to clean now Smile

LetUsPrey · 29/12/2019 19:58

I still feel the same about ours Wicked. It’s a cordless one and I almost don’t mind doing the vacuuming now Grin

I’m getting myself ready for Monday via the magic of vodka.

I’m also, if you can believe it and if I can bear the excitement, looking online for a new electric toothbrush.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 29/12/2019 20:16

Oh, I got one as a Christmas pressie Smile

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 29/12/2019 20:21

I remember when we got our cordless hoover...
Grin

Christmas here is still very much in evidence - mostly scattered across the floor every time I try to tidy up. Food-wise, we're back to the same old, with a side order of left-overs and extra chocolate Grin It's absolutely all 'planning and prep' though. Urgh.... It shouldn't feel like such a chore - I just feel like a grinch Sad
