Emergency new thread, with suitable decorations.
Fill your boots...

Grubby HBFs in leather are in our imaginations residence.
Sense of humour required, and tolerance for domestic tedium.

Evening. Still cold and wet here, so depressing. Sad

I hope he hasn't thrown anything important out too Helen, but we won't know until we need it which is of course inevitable.

No locations recognisable from World on Fire, but apparently there's a second season.

We've been watching Seven Worlds, One Planet too. That poor albatross chick in ep 1 who fell out of the nest and his dad didn't recognise him because he wasn't on the nest, but underneath it. What a relief when he managed to climb back in. No wonder they're an endangered species. Hmm Wonderful filming though.

MOT in the morning.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/11/2019 20:10

Hmm at spectacularly thick albatrosses. We haven't been watching it - I may try to get it on catch-up.

We have managed to get both episodes of His Dark Materials watched though - go us! Grin

Evening wenches.

Absolutely miserable weather here today but no work so I really really don’t care. Last of the Mondays off though.

Got lots of stuff done and, more importantly, found that I can watch YouTube on the tv on our new set up.

I was very worried about that chick Apricot. The camouflaged snake in the second episode was Shock.

I was very good Fancy and didn’t take advantage of any of your HBFs today whilst you were busy at work —not much—

Loving His Dark Materials.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/11/2019 23:12

That's considerate LetUs - fancy would be most upset it her HBFs were too tired to perform when get gets back from work.

We have just cleared episode 2 of Watchmen - we're on a roll - 2 hours of TV deleted off the box tonight! Also Yay! for YouTube on the TV chez LetUs

Unfortunately what with all the TV, I haven't made my lunch yet. FML and all that... will get the sarnies made and head for bed.

Night all - may your dreams be full of HBFs Grin

Ah just checked her on IMDb - series 2, episode 2 only listed for her. And I gave up after series 2 episode 1 Grin

FancyFancy · 11/11/2019 23:55

Such restraint letus I am most impressed. And grateful.

Good luck with the MOT apricot

Get you helen - watching all that tv Grin

LetUsPrey · 12/11/2019 07:48

Morning wenches.

We did ep2 of Watchmen last night too Helen. I have no idea what’s going on.

Yes, there was definitely some restraint used Fancy. More than one sometimes Grin

Good luck with the MOT Apricot.

It’s lashing it down and blowing a gale here. Do you have snow Wicked?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/11/2019 08:05

Oooh - is it MOT day? Good luck to ApricotCar!

In my exciting day DH woke me to tellme tht it was 2am and he was awake; then DS came in at 5:50am to tell me that he was awake. And we had no power for half an hour during breakfast. Fortunately it#s nice and clear outside, so no torches or candles were needed.

at LetUs and her restraint(s), and glad I'm not the only one being baffled by Watchmen.

Need to go and do the BoringOfficeJob thing... Why will no-one pay me to spend the day in bed with Athos? Why do I have to do actual work?

Have a good day all...

Morning.
I'm impressed they're both still alive helen Grin

I finished World on Fire last night. Quite enjoyable if rather preposterous. Had to issue myself with a few yellow cards over the series. Glad there will be series 2, but worried about Vernon now Sad

Right, must get off to work.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 12/11/2019 11:57

Changing the tyres now, I have them in my mum's garage so have to drive for 30 min, it's much more winter here, only 30 min away Confused

ApricotCrush · 12/11/2019 17:30

Evening wenches. Still raining.

Today didn't start well. DH takes DGS to school on a Tuesday and gets to DD's just after 8 o'clock as a 20min journey takes her an hour in the morning. Well, we forgot. Shock I remembered at 8.15 just before a frantic call from DD. DH dumped his breakfast and fled.

When he came back we thought we'd better check the lights on the car for the MOT.
DH: Brakes
Me:
DH: They're not working. Shock
Me: Confused Oh, I was pressing the accelerator. Blush
DH: Grin Fog lights
Me: Confused Pardon? I've never driven in the fog.

DH: Grin Ok. Hazards
Me: Confused What? I know it's a red triangle.

DH: Grin Grin You shouldn't be on the road, you know.
Anyway, it passed. Phew!

Oh that snake LetUs with the tail that looked like a spider to fool the birds. It was horrific.

Have a pleasant evening all. Wine

LetUsPrey · 12/11/2019 19:56

Evening wenches.

How considerate of MrHelen to wake you to let you know that he was awake Hmm

I think that job would definitely represent value for money.

Eeek at forgetting school run! And Grin at checking the car over.

Bonkers how weather conditions can be so variable even within a relatively short distance.

I’m pooped

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/11/2019 22:13

Evening. I'm running late tonight do have only just sat down with food - popped in to see family on the way home and stayed for a while, then came back and had another emergency house tidying session. Plus DS wanted me to read to him at bedtime ('Mother Tongue' by Bill Bryson - I'm interested to see how far I get through the book before he loses interest!)

Anyway... (ReadsTFTF) A SpiderSnake?!?! Shock Confused I'll pass on that one thanks. Though I don't mind snakes.

Gad to hear that the car passed Apricot but eek at the stressful start to the day. Not a nice feeling when you forget stuff like that!

LetUs - IKR?! I'd even reduce my freelance rates to make that job happen Grin

Wicked - hope you got the tyres on ok.

Fancy - IKR? (again) Fortunately for both DH and DS I was too tired to kill either of them and just expressed myself through the medium of "ugh" and similarly descriptive noises.

Evening

Have been busy this evening - preparing the Morecambe & Wise suite Grin

That's the disadvantage of people being annoying in the night helen - are less effective in the dark

That made me chuckle apricot I once had to call my dad to find out how to turn off the hazard warning lights in my car

FancyFancy · 12/11/2019 22:41

And no, it wasn't me that had turned them on - that would've been even worse Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 12/11/2019 22:53

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! re. Morecambe & Wise suite, which will be delightfully spacious Wink

Off to the hayloft now...

Night helen

LetUsPrey · 13/11/2019 07:48

Morning wenches. doesn’t seem to be raining.

Morecambe and Wise Suite Grin. That reminds me, I was watching a programme called Trust Morecambe and Wise presented by Lenny Henry last night. I still laugh at that Andre Previn sketch Grin

I suppose I’d better get on with breakfast, etc. Rather be getting on with HBFs.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 13/11/2019 07:53

Morning! "All the right notes..." (it's much like my typing sometimes!)

Also dry and sunny here. I'm told it will be 'dry' today - which is good what with the new windows coming and all. I'm off to BoringOfficeJob so I shall leave that all disruption to DH Grin

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 13/11/2019 08:13

I did that with DH on Friday Helen - TV chap was coming so I went to work and DH dealt with him.

Update: it’s raining again. Shocker.

FancyFancy · 13/11/2019 08:42

Morning.
Sunny here, so that means cold

ApricotCrush · 13/11/2019 18:45

Evening. Lovely day here, though cold.

Hope the window installation went well Helen. Yes, me too with workmen in the house. I hate it, always leave it to DH.

I spent the latter part of the afternoon in my favourite hospital Hmm having a hysteroscopy which was fucking painful. I have two polyps, I saw them on the screen. Shock They have to be removed.

Still, fish and chips on the way home again. Smile

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 13/11/2019 19:03

Ouch Apes ConfusedWineWineWine

I don't like workmen at my house either, unfortunately I have to deal with them myself since Fräsan is too lazy Hmm

ApricotCrush · 13/11/2019 19:14

Thanks WW.

Awww.

LetUsPrey · 13/11/2019 20:57

Evening wenches.

I think you need to have a word with Frasan. Time to take some responsibility Grin

Hope any chilly wenches have been thoroughly warmed up by HBFs.

Oh Apricot . Do you have any idea of the waiting list? Fish and chips though for the win.

Had some training at work today —which was on the whole pointless—
