Emergency new thread, with suitable decorations.
Fill your boots...

Grubby HBFs in leather are in our imaginations residence.
Sense of humour required, and tolerance for domestic tedium.

Evening.

Miserable, miserable day here. Though all things in proportion - we don't have any flooding so it's just the usual wet murky weather and I'm just having a winge. I also worked out who the mystery 'my colleague says hello' was. And I had to drive round the houses due to two local road closure, which was a bit of a pain.

It has not been a very exciting day, and I'm going to have an early night.

I'm not sure I properly warmed up all day - my feet are cold still, am off to FancyMan's later, so I cam warm them up on him Grin Currently have FancyCat & a laptop on my lap & ScaredyCat next to me in a firework-induced truce. Either that or their mutual passion for ToTP 1987 overrides their customary animosity.

LetUsPrey · 09/11/2019 09:19

Morning wenches.

You’re right Helen. Despite all the rain we’ve had, we’re all safe and there’s no flooding.

Grin Fancy. Music is after all something that brings people together, so why not cats as well.

Usual washing, ironing, homework shenanigans this weekend and I’m off again Monday. Last one though.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/11/2019 11:16

Morning. Absolute LOL at the idea of the cats having a ToTP-induced truce Grin

It is lovely and sunny, and I have to go out and pay taxi for DS. But first I did some hoovering. Whoop! We have a weekend of tryign to tidy up for these new window. Escept of course I have the weekend, because DH has other commitments at SportingActivity which will see him out of the house until 4pm today and for another 4-5 hour tomorrow. Still, it can't be helped and it's not like he did it on purpose. And I have a over-nighter mini-meet next week (hurrah!!!) so DH can take on domestic duties including being in charge of the school run (for one whole day)

Hope everyone has a nice weekend with no strops

FancyFancy · 09/11/2019 15:59

Back home & a cat on me already.

Glad to hear no-one has been washed away in the flooding. I think I am now up to date with World on Fire, still haven't started on the Capture yet...

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/11/2019 17:07

And - important stuff - are your feet warm now Fancy? I was working yesterday with an actual hot water bottle on my lap to keep me warm Shock

I am off out tonight, hopefully local theatre will be warm...

ApricotCrush · 09/11/2019 17:17

Afternoon. Very frosty here this morning and it's rained all day.

DH has got the new fridge up and running in the garage which has prompted him to have a mahoosive clearout. I'm keeping out of it. Hmm

Have a lovely time at the theatre Helen.

FancyFancy · 09/11/2019 18:04

Not entirely helen, but not too bad. If I got moving they'd probably be fine Grin

Yikes at hot water bottle Shock our office has not been warm lately, half of the floor where I am is empty at the moment ahead of the refurbishment. And I suspect that the heating is not on in that part. The refurb is due to start soon, so it will probably not improve until that's done. Still it will be nice when done & my department gets to stay where we currently are after the work is done, which is good as I like it Smile

LetUsPrey · 09/11/2019 18:37

Evening wenches.

Our heating at work is bonkers. Usually too hot even when the radiator in our room isn’t on. Just takes someone in another office to put theirs on and the pipes do the rest.

I am full of the cold DH had the other week. Have had a bath, going to watch Strictly —which has been fairly dismal this year—, have dinner, then hayloft.

Have a fab time tonight Helen.

FancyFancy · 09/11/2019 21:54

Hope a good sleep makes you feel better letus

I seem to have 3 additional teenagers for the night - all wanting to watch some bloody Youtubers in a boxing match at 5am Maybe you can sleep for both of us?

LetUsPrey · 09/11/2019 22:01

Thanks.

I’ve seen the trailers for that over and bloody over again.

We’re watching Temple. Is very good.

LetUsPrey · 10/11/2019 09:46

Morning wenches.

Sunny but chilly here. Cold improving. Need to jolly DS1 into getting up soon.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/11/2019 10:49

Morning all. I had a lie-in, disturbed by the sound of DS yelling at friends on the x-box and a small cat purring disproportionately loudly (and heading butting me for attention). I am feeling a bit spaced out.

I made too much porridge for breakfast, but due to the twitter wormhole, I have eaten it all without noticing. This may be a result (no leftovers - nice filling meal), or I may be unable to move from the sofa due to being weighed down by several tonnes on oats inside me. Stupid Cat thinks that this is just fine though, since she has relocated from sitting on me while I'm in bed, to sitting on me on the sofa and she had no intention of moving.

Theatre was good last night. Started off slightly hot - everyone came in from the cold and immediately started peeling off layers of clothes. Then it cooled down later on and layers started going back on. There was also an interesting Q&A afterwards with the producer.

WTF at teenagers and 5am YouTube. FFS. Hope you managed to ignore them and are still asleep Fancy Grin

Glad you're feeling a bit better today LetUs - hope HBI speaks up, what with the rubbish acoustics - maybe you could raise it with him? In a loud clear voice.

Hurrah for new fridge, but eek for the clear out Apricot - I must crack on with that here, but in's a bit overwhelming. Confused

v. frosty this morning again - the 'frost' warning came on on my car last night. Hope Wicked is keeping nice and warm in the frozen north. Which is probably no even frozen what with weather patterns etc

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 10/11/2019 10:59

Morning
They were surprisingly quiet last night, but all got up promptly this morning and that woke me earlier than expected!

I've had the frost warning light come on a few times already - weirdly despite being only a few miles from home to work, the weather can be rather different - probably all the hills.

Watched the first of Britannia s2 last night. Not sure I can be arsed with the rest tbh. Realised I can't remember who everyone is & what happened in s1 & am just not interested enough to go & find out. My motivation levels are probably related to the amount of faf not present. Hugo was in it briefly. Very briefly.

LetUsPrey · 10/11/2019 11:25

Sportingactivity not happening. DS1 is a lazy PITA.

Bonkers dream part of which included driving over a very high bridge in San Francisco, car coming off the bridge and plunging into the water and everyone - about five of us - dying. So that was cheery.

I reckon that amount of porridge means you’ll need to be rooted to the sofa all day and watch lots of stuff with FAF in it Helen.

I think I’m having a similar problem Fancy. We’re watching stuff and it’s good but, without FAF, it has to be absolutely excellent for me to persevere with it.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/11/2019 15:14

Had a bit of a scare when I went out on a drive with the summer tyres on and it was colder tgan I expected and it suddenly started to snow Confused I quickly turned back.
I also went through all my trips to the UK cause it's been a blur and including the two trips I made in my youth and my upcoming trip it's a total of 13 trips. No wonder I'm scint Confused

ApricotCrush · 10/11/2019 18:01

Evening. Sunny day here but very cold. This time of year my windows look shocking, I'll have to have a go at them.

Glad you enjoyed the theatre Helen. And aww at being head-butted by a loud-purring cat.

OMG LetUs that dream sounds terrifying. Shock

I know what you mean about the dramas without FAF Fancy. I think we've given up on more than we've watched just lately. World on Fire ends tonight I think.

Eeek at snow WW. And 13 trips? Amazing.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/11/2019 18:28

In 2015 I made three trips to the UK and one to Prague and I didn't even remember I did that until I looked through all my bookings Confused

LetUsPrey · 10/11/2019 20:33

That reminds me of the old joke Apricot. “Mum, you need to clean the windows. The neighbours are struggling to see in”.

Looking forward to your location report.

Just watching Seven Worlds, One Planet. Just seen the world’s most middle class bear - it was after a perfect miniature avocado Grin

You’re quite the gadabout Wicked! I still think I’m adventurous with a train trip to —nearest big city— London. And if you can’t remember some of your trips, they must have been quite fantastic! Grin

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 10/11/2019 20:42

I think I'm just going gaga Letus and broke Confused

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 10/11/2019 23:14

Dear God, DS has been hard work today Sad You know that thing where in the middle ages the nobility send their children off to other people's houses to live there for a while? I think they were on to something.

And I've just realised that the house insurance expires tomorrow - eek! And I missed a dentist appointment last week. I am bloody disorganised. Sad

Oh well - your dream sounds bloody awful LetUs

Brittania has Connie in it Fancy - though she's not actually FAF so... Where is the FAF? Get them back on screen - stat! Wicked - it's our magnetic personalities (or 'magenta' as autocorrect suggested Hmm ) - you can't keep away Grin

Best get o with house insurance...

LetUsPrey · 11/11/2019 07:48

Morning wenches.

But totally worth it Wicked Grin

Totally agree with you Helen. at MiniHelen, because that’ll work. You need to set reminders on your phone, like I do. And then you can ignore them and think I’ll do that later and not do it, like I do.

Final day off work today. I’ve ironing to do and a few shopping errands and tidy the kitchen but other than that, not much else is planned.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 11/11/2019 08:19

I think that lots of FAF on TV should be planned LetUs - do you still have your old sky box or has Killers-at-Glastonbury gone? you can just work your way through whatever of your list is available.

It is another dreary wet day here - umbrellas all round to the school bus. DS had a panic last night about homework that he hasn't done, so that's tonight's delight... The chimney sweep is currently here. Much to our surprise because we'd forgotten about him Blush. He's def. on the grubby side, but sadly that doesn't make him an HBF...

Hope that everyone has a good day, and MrApricot hasn't thrown out anything he shouldn't have during his clear-out.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 11/11/2019 08:46

Connie in Britannia? I missed that!

Work today - so I can have Friday off for the mini-meet Smile Laters!

Apparently she's 'Bridget' which of course means nothing to me because I have't been watching, but ho hum hey!
