And wenches can use their imaginations to make the temperature rise and anything else they can think of.

The first available time was 15.45 tomorrow. She's getting a separate cremation.

ApricotCrush · 17/07/2019 18:14

Oh WW, I'm so, so sorry. Sad Flowers

Are you going to get something special to have in your flat? We got a little thing to go in the garden when LetUsCat went - he spent so much time outside.

It’s fascinating to hear you talk about seeing the moon landing live Apricot! And I’m very impressed with your industriousness.

Rushed off my feet at work today.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 17/07/2019 19:00

I might do a sculpture of all the cathair she's leaving behind.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 17/07/2019 20:45

Wicked poor Sigrid and poor you Sad

I have had a day of going out for a team lunch, then a team walk that turned out to be 4 miles slightly longer than expected, then helped with furniture moving. I'm a bit pooped.

DS has just started watching the Dara O'Briein/Brian Cox programme about space travel. The fact that Brian Cox is in it means that I may be asleep in seconds - his voice has the most soporific effect on me, no matter how interesting the subject is!

LetUs - suggest you put your feet up so the HBFs can give you them rub.

Apricot - I'm very impressed by your burst of activity. I shall ignore our windows, which are all in need of a wash.

Fancy - I hope that you got the mowing done quickly and that left plenty of time for HBF-appreciation Grin

LetUsPrey · 18/07/2019 07:59

Morning wenches.

An unexpected four mile walk Helen? Crikey! No wonder you’re tired. And I know what you mean re Brian Cox Grin

HBFs took very good care of me last night.

Would that be quite a big sculpture Wicked? Lots of love and kind thoughts for you today

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/07/2019 07:59

Urgh. Small child appeared at 4am. Small child went downstairs just gone 6am. Small child reappeared to share the joy that Inconvenient Cat wasn't hungry and that Stupid Cat had hair-balled.

Joy.

Also, as predicted. The two delayed projects have just sent me enquiries and land in my inbox simultaneously, just in time for the holidays. the other project who asked if I could fit them in, having been told, 'Yes, if you send it NOW' have responded with a 21 page contract (WTAF??!) and no actual work. FFAS.

AND I've been trying to gt some keys cut - first place didn't have the keys in stock, second place did - but the keys that were cut (and look bloody identical to the original) Don't work.

I shall be grumping and snarling my way through the day at this rate...

Woe, woe; tiny violin, and 1st world problems abound...

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/07/2019 13:55

huge for wicked and Sigrid Sad

ApricotCrush · 18/07/2019 15:04

Afternoon.

Went to town with DD this morning. I've never known anyone be quite so indecisive. Can't think who she takes after. Hmm

Oh dear Helen, hope the day has improved.

Thinking about WW. Sad

OP posts:
WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 18/07/2019 16:38

Thanks wenches. She's in cat heaven now Sad

LetUsPrey · 18/07/2019 19:29

Evening wenches.

I can be a bit indecisive sometimes Apricot but it’s a bit frustrating when it’s someone else Grin. Did you want to say “just pick something”?

I’m so so sorry Wicked. May Sigrid have many mice to chase, sunny spots to stretch in, and cat treats to nibble

I’ve done my back this morning before I left for work. Tried to keep moving on and off through the day which seemed to be easing it off a tiny bit, but it got worse from around 3.30 and the drive home didn’t help. It really really fucking hurts. A lot.

ApricotCrush · 18/07/2019 19:53

So sorry WW. Also thinking of Fräsan. She'll be wondering what has happened. Sad

OP posts:
ApricotCrush · 18/07/2019 20:21

Yes, I did LetUs. She was looking for some jeans, tried on numerous pairs, and then left without anything. To be fair, nothing looked right on her. Hmm

Sorry about your back. You can't take ibuprofen, can you? I always used to leap to them when I put my back out, but I can't take them now either.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 18/07/2019 20:28

Urgh jeans shopping. In that case, I really feel for both of you.

No, you’re right, no ibuprofen allowed. Not sure paracetamol will do anything but going to give them a try before bed.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 18/07/2019 20:37

Poor you Letus Sad

I worry about Fräsan too, don't know how she will react.

LetUsPrey · 18/07/2019 21:49

Have had a bath. No idea if it’s helped or not but I found some David Attenborough Life on Earth stuff to download on BBC Sounds and listened to the first episode of that. I’ll download the rest so that’ll be good for holiday listening. Going to see what else I can find.

Frasan has you Wicked which I’m sure will be a big comfort for her.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 18/07/2019 22:08

Lots of cuddles for Fräsan. I'm sure she knew that Sigrid was ill.

Can I add another vote of 'urgh' to shopping for Jeans? The best fitting ones I have come from Sainsburys, I should buy more for when they change their design. they probably already have knowing my luck today. (the keys got re-cut and still don't work. FFAS!)

Today's useful tip for wenches is:
Do not inhale mackerel.
I know it tastes lovely and stuff, but it has no oxygen content and will cause a horrendous coughing/choking fit which will convince nearby first aiders that they need to race to your aid. (Of course, if the first aiders are HBFs then they absolutely need to come to my aid)

And now, I must work.

I shall pretend that this will be waiting for me at the end of working...

Swagger Inn 162 - The summer's a bit of a wash-out at the moment but thoughts turn to holidays -
FancyFancy · 18/07/2019 22:49

Oh, massive to you ww, such a hard decision to make even when you know it's the right one. Hope you & Frasan are having lots of cuddles tonight.

I do think your idea of a sculpture of cat hair is genius though

Ouch letus - are you in need of a good back rub from hbfs?

apricot you are so organised with your star gazing!

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/07/2019 00:14

Athos had better be ready and waiting (to act as a pillow...)

night all...

LetUsPrey · 19/07/2019 07:54

Morning wenches.

Back has eased a little bit but still quite ouchy unsurprisingly. HBFs were on hand and rubbed things better.

Were you able to rest your head on Athos Helen?

Agree that some bands and songs should never be mixed Fancy. Also looking forward to the netball semi.

How are you and Frasan today Wicked?

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 19/07/2019 09:03

It feels empty and Fräsan is a bit confused.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/07/2019 17:01

Afternoon. Very manic day here. I've been getting more keys cut (that still don't work), and doing school end-of-term stuff, and work 'leaving do' stuff and basically I've been a headless chicken all day. DS is also feeling sorry for himself because he wanted someone round to play after school but they all had plans.

I've also been sent more work.

Wicked - it will be very odd.

ApricotCrush · 19/07/2019 17:43

Afternoon. Miserable here, raining on and off.

That sounds exhausting Helen. Poor DS. Sad

DH lost our spare set of keys recently, and I said they'll turn up, but he panicked and got another set cut. Then they turned up, and the spare spare set don't work for me. I don't know what it is with keys in this house. We often find keys and have no idea what they're for. Confused

And how did you inhale mackerel? Hmm

Oh, our helpful tv-box-thingy has very kindly started recording series 3 of Outlander. I didn't know it was on. Two episodes to watch. Smile

for WW and Fräsan.

OP posts:
LetUsPrey · 19/07/2019 18:14

Afternoon/evening wenches.

Agree it will be very very odd Wicked

What is it with keys getting cut and not working properly? Thinking about it, we have one that we got cut ages ago that does work but only if you wiggle it a certain way.

bit rubbish for him though

Also weeing it down here allllll day. How helpful of the TV box to record —Jamie— Outlander for you Apricot Grin

So I’ve done loads of organising and booking and buying stuff for impending holiday. DH proudly declares he will book the taxi this weekend. Jolly good. Do I know what time our flights are and what time will we need to be at the airport? He’s gone out to the greenhouse - I might lock him out.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 19/07/2019 18:17

Inhaling mackerel* - a tutorial:

  1. have some mackerel in your mouth,
  2. take a sudden deep breath (for reasons unknown)
  3. start coughing and wheezing

*other uninhaleable foodstuffs are available. And non-foodstuffs too.

It as been cloudy and a bit drizzly here, but not actual rain. The washing dried on the line. Either than or DH bought in the washing while it was damp and left it sitting in the basket.

In other news - WTAF? What hideousness is this? Twitter has rolled out its new layout - apparently it thinks I don't want to read in chronological order, and also that I want to see posts by people who are followed by people I follow. WTAF? It's hideous. And I can't roll-back either as far as I can tell from other wails of outrage online. Sad
