Very sad news for that mum in Tewkesbury

I'm 24 weeks pg and I really feel for her.

Our bowser still hasn't been refilled yet. Has been empty since yesterday morning!

How will we all manage with washing ourselves, flushing toilets and runing out of clean clothes etc over the next 2 weeks??????

My employers want the places to stay open. we'll get chemical toilets they say. What about our personal situations i say???!!!!

Parts of Stroud are no about to run out of water as well

STROUD: The latest information we have on water supplies from Severn Trent Water is that the northern half of the district could be affected by supplies running out at Churchdown reservoir following the closure of the Mythe water treatment works. Severn Trent say they're bringing in water tankers to replenish Churchdown and keep Stroud supplied but are asking people in the area to be sensible with their water use.

It means households in the following areas COULD run out of mains water in the next 24 hours if they haven't already.

Bournes Green
Callowell
Cranham
Eastcombe
Edge
Elmore
Frampton
Hardwicke
Harescombe
Haresfield
Pai nswick
Peghouse
Prinknash
Randwick
Sheepscombe
Slimbridge
Stroudwater
Upton St Leonards
Whiteshill
Whiteway
Whitminster

Stroud District Council have told us that the following areas have ALREADY lost water:

Whiteshill
Eastcombe
Bisley
Randwick
Bussage
Hardwick
Cranham
Chalford Hill

And we're recieving reports from listeners that water in the following areas has now been cut off:

Stonehouse
Leonard Stanley
Cam

We have heard that the mitcheldean plant is going to be shut ( god only knows why ) and that coleford will be cut off within 4 hours. I rang severn trent and they said they can not confirm anything other than what is on the news, but that doesn't help us does it?

The media/comms are starting to go a bit awry - according to thisisgloucestershire.com Painswick has already lost water at 3.45pm along with other bits of the Stroud area, but my parents still had water at 7.30pm. Not sure if it will stay on or not (hope so).

Bumperlicious you've got me paranoid now, going to go and stalk myself and see what I've let slip. ;) If you're REALLY good though (are you a professional in this sort of thing?!) you'll email me when you get back from maternity leave.

Furball · 24/07/2007 21:47

It's amazing our scrupulous
you become with not wasting water. I even saved my water from boiling peas for 'grey' water except it was more 'green' water which I used to soak the plates with so they are easier to wash.

DontCallMeBaby · 25/07/2007 19:52

We've given up on putting cooking or washing-up water in the cistern, they were getting really nasty (the loo cisterns). Washing (as in washing of us) water is still going to go in there. My parents (Painswick) lost their water this afternoon.

Got some water for us and my friend in Brockworth today, as another friend found out the other day you can't even go to B&Q to buy building supplies without them throwing bottled water at you!
