DS1’s last exam today and then he finishes school! My PFB is —not really— all grown up.

Morning! I eed to get beds stripped and washing on. Also, getting dressed before the school run would be a plan. But I have been in the garden chucking buckets of water over stuff and hauling out armfuls of cleavers from the nettlebeds.

DS1 phoned at about 11am. The sound of happiness and freedom in his voice . His plan for next week is apparently “sleep”.

Now need to take DS2 to the high school for a meeting.

Arse. I washed all the bedding today - if it was on the bed and not moving, it got put in the machine. About four loads went through the and all dried. DS needs to be sent up to bed. He has a bare mattress just now... I shall prise myself off the sofa and go sort it out...

And yes - cakes. They need icing. They look a bit weird but they taste fine, so I just need to disguise them. And DH is in the kitchen with sports radio blaring out, so I shall do some research on icing recipes util he stops that. FFS. I want to go to bed

Evening wicked . It's fatless sponge. It's a lovely recipe from my Moomin cookbook... tastes like fluffy sponge fingers.

Funnily enough LetUs I did suggest that to DH - the leftover icing thing. But then again, I've only just washed the sheets... However, there are no concerns about mess and having to wash the sheets in the tav, so I shall take a scoop out of the bowl and head to the hayloft with Athos. Help yourselves to the rest of the icing (buttercream with a splash of vanilla)

Cakes sound fab

Buttercream with vanilla is my favourite - I shall take a bowl of it to the chateau with Aramis. And Aidan too whilst Fancy isn’t here. And Armie.

Hay and buttercream icing is not a god mix. That's all I have to say on the subject. On the other hand, the resulting hosing down was most... invigorating.
