Oh, FFS - internet is playing up. I was just watching a video and got the buffering circle of doom.... so before the connection goes completely and we spend the night asleep playing cards by candlelight...

Partway through watching The Miniaturist with DH. It’s fab. The male lead reminds me a bit of a young Tim Curry only possibly not quite as charismatic (I think that’s what I mean).

DH has gone to wrangle DS2 to bed. From the shouting going on, he may be a while.

Spent most of yesterday doing diy - oh I know how to partaaaayyy It was better than it sounds - DD was doing it with me & we made a good team. Afterwards we agreed to watch an episode of each others much loved programmes - got her to watch an episode of Being Human

My only resolution this year is to throw stuff out - starting today. This does not extend to the library of faf on my hard drive. That will stay. And expand.

Happy New Year! Don't feel like doing anything at all today. Watching a film called A man called Ove, a film about a grumpy middleaged man who controls his neighbourhood, complains if someone park their car wrong etc. He's trying to hang himself several times but always gets disturbed by his neighbours. It's both tragic and fun, mostly fun. Better than I thought, I think Swedish films can be a bit boring.

I did Apricot. Really enjoyed it. Thought it looked gorgeous and was very well acted. I think it did leave a few things unanswered but perhaps that’s the idea? Anyway, I liked it. What did you think?

Just waiting for the taxi . It is absolutely pissing it down here and is quite windy. Don’t think we’ll be walking it back.

We should spur each other on with the decluttering apricot - my aim is to get rid of one thing from the house every day - I'll allow myself to average it out over the week to make things a little easier. Today I freecycled some boxes and sorted through the drinks in the garage. Once the seriously out of date can is in teh recycling bin, that'll be two things got rid of. Woo-hoo, I'm ahead of schedule

Now how to celebrate.....

We can't plan any holidays WW because of DH's knees. He was going to Spain golfing at the end of this month, but has had to cancel, he's gutted. for him.
