DSs school have been all organised & already said they're closed, DDs are saying they'll decide by 6.45am tomorrow - school is at the top of a hill with narrow roads, so the buses will struggle. Not sure what they're waiting for tbh

We took DGS around the road this afternoon on his sledge. We've got him tomorrow as school is still closed.

Can't fault DSs school in their handling of it though - already have details up about tomorrow's rearranged timetable & asked the pupils to wear suitable footwear, no need to bring regulation shoes in. When so many secondary schools are arsey about coats & footwear even when pupils have long journeys to school, I think that is fab.

Ironing time

Bawling my eyes out, watching an "award show" about everyday heroes. A reminder that there a so many good people out there. The coolest ones so far are a motocycle gang that help bullied kids, follow them to school and so on. Warms my cynical heart.

Got a call to collect DS2 again from school. Supposedly ill. They sounded surprised when I said I’d have to hopefully arrange for someone else to get him. Fortunately my parents were available. Said he had a tummy ache which kept coming and going and then wouldn’t go away. TBF my mum said he looked quite pale when she picked him up and I think they’re being cautious because there’s a bug going round. He says all fine at school which I believe but I may ask teacher to keep an eye out just in case.

Hurrah for found hats and sledding and sensible schools! Boo to missing gloves and cold and freezing slush.

Been out shopping with DS1. Got him a shirt and bought some Christmas presents.

There’s a programme on BBC4 about Mexico. The narrator sounds like Javier Bardem. It’s not him but I’m going to keep listening and watching anyway.
