Do you wear strong perfume? Because you make my ruddy head ache and I wish you would stop. Everyone else thinks so too but they are too polite to tell you that you stink.

I think that more or less covers it.

I've reached an age where I want to be blowsy. I now wear perfume everyday - never used to until about 3 or 4 months ago. I love it. Ditto fabric conditioner.

moondog · 26/03/2007 22:19

Everytime I go through an airport there is a French manicured airhead wielding a veritable cauldron of Davidoff.

I got very confused and for ages thought it was a 'signature scent' courtesy of David Hasselhoff.

moondog · 26/03/2007 22:20

lol at you you blowsy thing.

expatinscotland · 26/03/2007 22:21

You are confused, moondog, because a clear-headed moony would know all Davidoff smells like the Gulf of Mexico after yet another oil spill.

FrannyandZooey · 26/03/2007 22:21

C'mon ash, liven it up a little

you are the only one who has disagreed At All

can't you insult our revolting hippie au naturel smells or something?

norkmaiden · 26/03/2007 22:21

yeah tinker, me too. But I think I've picked it up from my mum - wearing it everyday, even though I don't do any other 'grooming' crap - it's shower, dress, coco mademoiselle...

adamadamum · 26/03/2007 22:22

My ex used to drown himself in aftershave just before we would meet up, I used to have to ask him to wash it off asap. He still did it when I was PG and I was close to vomiting with the smell. Shame, I can think of no greater aphrodesiac (mis-spelt I am sure...) than the right man, who washed well but has had time to sweat a little over a couple of hours! The smell of man - yum, the smell of chemicals - yuck. Why were we given hairy bits on our bodies after all? To attract the opposite sex by trapping yummy pheremones!
Oh and don't get me started on men who shave their pits!!!

Tinker · 26/03/2007 22:24

Well, I was accumulating it without having enough "occasions" to wear it. Stuff that. Stuff the lot o' yer, I'm wearing it every day.

Currently Eau de Vanille by L'Occitane

Whoooosh · 26/03/2007 22:25

Well sorry but I like smelling clean/fresh/fragrant!

BE it my choce of perfume ot evern fabric conditioner,I like it.

So shoot me but smells and nice ones I love.

Hoevever, there are many offensive aftificial smells out there-but it is all down to personal taste I guess.

JodieG1 · 26/03/2007 22:27

I love jean paul gaultier haven't worn any in ages though as I don't wear any when my lo's are babies as I don't like to overwhelm them with anything. I also have envy by gucci, haute coutre, chanel number 5, yvres (used to be called champagne) and a few others but my fav is Jean paul gaultier. I love it when you walk past a man and you catch a scent of what he's wearing (as long as it's nice), I love the smell of cool water and farhenheit as dh wears those.

ScottishMummy · 26/03/2007 22:27

FrannyandZooey LOL - good it not scratch and sniff then

VeniVidiVickiQV · 26/03/2007 22:27

Awww L'air du temps is what my nan used to wear and it reminds me of her...

I have to say, there is something that is in Obsession for men, that, just, makes me want to follow them down the street and do naughty things to them

my friend was wearing that stella today, SM, it was quite old-fashioned but really nice i thought.

ScottishMummy · 26/03/2007 22:31

frankly if given the choice i would rather people smelt of nicely bottled factory produced aromas than organic-sweaty-bodies.......esp when travelling on the tube

expatinscotland · 26/03/2007 22:32

I went w/my boss and we both tried on Stella.

It smelled like rotting flowers on her.

But it smelled fab on me.

My sister can wear Amirage by Givenchy.

It smells like piss on me.

ScottishMummy · 26/03/2007 22:33

expatinscotland - loving-your-description-of-stella

expatinscotland · 26/03/2007 22:34

Flower by Kenzo smells heavenly on her.

Smells like one of those kack air freshners on me.

expatinscotland - Oi have u been rummaging in my bathroom naming perfumes i wear

expatinscotland · 26/03/2007 22:35

No, they're not, cod.

You're just using the cheap shit.

TooTicky · 26/03/2007 22:36

I used to love incense sticks - can't stand them now.

expatinscotland · 26/03/2007 22:37

I was going to get my boss some Kenzo for her birthday, but instead I found these most excellent placemats for her flat. One read, 'I did your laundry, darling! The ashes are in the fireplace.' And another with a woman exclaiming, 'Oh my god! I forgot to have children!' And still another exclaiming, 'How much fun can I have before I can go to hell?'

She liked those!

Whoooosh · 26/03/2007 22:40

Sadly,my absolute fave is so expensive I really do have to only wear it on special occasions but I love me and the people around me smelling nice.
Don't care whether it is washing powder, fabric conditioner of perfume.....
