They snacked on their less survivally inclined siblings before getting here and some snakes they found in the moat. We've just got to last until Monday, then the free school meals kick in. I'm sure schadenfreude can whip something up. What about the toothy birds?

Harpies? Legfish? Sure she'll find something. Bet she's got a barn full of experiments gone wrong somewhere. Elephants with 12 trunks, human/local fauna-hybrids and fish with wings.

Don't worry, dragons (even young 'uns) can eat pretty much anything. I mentioned a long time ago that we have an odd preference for foodstuffs ending in -at : rats, bats, loquats,cats, loquats, wombats, aristocrats . The babies are doing a great job at the moment, hunting down the last of the mole rats, but those of noble descent should never forget who is more likely to eat whom.

But we don't have much food and they are going to be enormous soon. And some of them are likely to be rather messy. Do we feed valuable moose to lizards who will cover us in vomited moose meat?

Nah, the mole rats and stray royals other vermin should be enough until they're flying. They might even bring you back some food, if you treat them nicely.

You should be grateful, having finished the moat, they were tunnelling within it...they nearly turned the place into a vast hole.

I think it's all the rage now. We can put them everywhere, glue pink glitter to the stairs and get the little ones to scorch twee messages on the walls.
