Was looking at a Teach Yourself crochet book Bath but wondered if I could follow it. You'll have to let me know how you get on. Yes do keep us posted re BathsLad's op!

I hope tomorrow is less explosive Malcolm Grin And that you all get some sleep tonight. How did DS1 get on today?

Yes my late morn / early aft was lovely. Needed it to recharge my batteries which have been a bit flat lately!

Hope you both sleep well tonight and catch up tomorrow Smile

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 29/03/2017 08:21

Morning! DS2 slept through! 🎉🎊👏🏻.

So why do I feel so exhausted?!!! I am so glad the children break up this week, although by around 10am on Monday, when I've had to referee the umpteenth argument, I might feel differently! 😂

Hope everyone has a good day!

I forgot to mention, wet the cotton bud Malcolm, so the Teetha sticks.

I think if I get the yarn in the holidays, I'll get more done. I don't seem to have much free time. Mornings are lovely and slow in the holidays. Grin

BathsLad got to have Yet Another Scan™ and waiting and checking him etc, so no date for the op yet. I'm disproportionately worried about the op, the GA with his CF is risky, the anaesthetist needs to watch him like a hawk.

BathshebaDarkstone · 29/03/2017 10:06

I'm having a big breakfast sandwich today. Grin

SassynSane · 29/03/2017 14:54

Yay, glad DS2 slept through Malcolm. Don't break up here until end of next week so fair few school runs to go before a break!

Bath hope the scan goes well. I don't think your worries are disproportionate in the slightest. We're always here to listen or hand hold and am sure I speak for Malcolm when I say more than happy to PM rather than discuss anything too sensitive on a public forum. Hugs x

Hugely busy day at work today. And still almost 3 hrs to go....joy....hope you're both having good days!

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 29/03/2017 22:24

Bath, I echo what Sassy said, I can only imagine how you just be feeling, but please know that there's always someone here who will listen if you need us. Again, via PM if you prefer.

Sassy, on the other hand, you'll still be having lovely lie-ins whilst I'm back to the daily grind in a couple of weeks' time!

I've had a shit day. Literally (thanks, DS2!) and figuratively. Two explosive nappies and full changes have made me decide that DS2 can live in sleepsuits until these nappies stop! I can't be doing with changing a top, jumper and trousers as well as a bodysuit!

I've had an insurance claim going since last September against a company who did nearly £2.5k's worth of damage to my house. I've spent countless hours chasing their insurance company, having the same conversation several times with equally unpleasant people and providing them with more and more information. Today I heard that they've declined my claim. I can't even begin to tell you how angry I am. I was literally shaking for a good few hours.

I rang up the legal helpline from my house insurance and they said I have a very strong case for negligence and gave me lots of advice on an initial letter for me to send in response. But if it doesn't get settled then I'll have to go through Small Claims. I just don't have the money to replace the items damaged so I will definitely pursue it, but the stress is sending my anxiety levels through the roof.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Bastards. Angry

The argument they used to deny my claim is just ludicrous. And it's taken them seven months when they said that their own guidelines were three months!

My mind is whirling, I think I'm going to watch something on my phone to fall asleep to. Perhaps some Sherlock....!!!

OP posts:
MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 29/03/2017 22:24

God, sorry that was so long! Blush

OP posts:
SassynSane · 29/03/2017 22:39

Ooh Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock? Hahaha, well hopefully he'll give you sweet dreams Grin Seriously thou Malcolm that does all sound really stressful and a total ball ache! Bastards indeed. But they work on the fact that most people give up after a certain amount of time so if you're able to then pursue them! Maybe a call to Watchdog? About the stress? And the damage? And the subsequent attitude? It sounds like you are in the right so stick to your guns but don't let them drive you mad in the process. Hopefully DH being supportive and can take some of the stress from you.

Sorry to hear DS2 still being explosive. Hope that eases soon.

Manic day at work. So tired. Got a small happy boast today though. DD excitedly put a form in my hand as she got home tonight which said she'd been picked to represent her school in a sporting tournament! DD is the least sporty & physically coordinated of girls so am really happy for her and very proud & a little astonished Bless her!

Right hope Sherlock helps and you manage to sleep. Night x

BathshebaDarkstone · 30/03/2017 04:33

Morning! Drinking coffee and watching BBC world news. GrinBrew

Thanks both for your lovely words. I'll survive with lots of displacement activity.

I'm quite relaxed about posting on here, if people from RL were on here, they'd know me from my NN anyway.

Malcolm I agree with Sassy, email Watchdog. I hope you got some sleep. Flowers

SassynSane · 30/03/2017 07:24

Morning Brew

Bath if displacement activity isn't distraction enough then always happy to listen!

Malcolm hope today is a better day.

Here's to a happy Thursday! Smile

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 30/03/2017 07:58

Morning! DS2 was up from 10.15 until 2am. I actually am at my wit's end. He's no. 5, and none of the others have ever been like this. It's so hard, because I don't want him to be in pain and alone, but on the other hand, I'm worried that I'm making a rod for my own back by bringing him into bed, giving him a bottle etc. Ugh. Anyway, enough about me!

Sassy, that is SO lovely about your DD, well done to her! And what a great confidence booster, too. I'm so pleased for you both.

Bath, glad to be of distraction any time! I too am fairly relaxed about being 'outed' as I generally think a good rule of thumb is never to write down anything electronically that you wouldn't be happy for any and all to see! Plus I'm fairly open in RL and also, I'm quite boring so I doubt anyone would gain much from discovering my true identity!!! Grin

Today is mostly going to be powered by Brewonce again! I should have shares in flipping Dolce Gusto!!! 😂

SassynSane · 30/03/2017 09:51

Urghh...Malcolm have some Brew & Cake & Flowers and maybe some more Brew! Broken nights are the worst, really hope you make it through your day ok!

Thank you. Really pleased for DD. She's a shy little thing and at the mo isn't having the best of time at school due to bullying and friendship issues Sad so anything that boosts her self esteem is a good thing! And just to show how none sporty she is, as I was putting her to bed she asked me what the word tournament means as she didn't really understand what she had been asked to do bless her.

Right. Busy work day so catch up later. Hope you both have good days!

BathshebaDarkstone · 30/03/2017 10:08

Your poor DS2 Malcolm and poor you! Sucking did seem to relieve it for my DS2. If you're struggling to cope with lack of sleep, please talk to your HV. Have you got family who can help? BrewBrewBrewBrewBrewBrew for you.

I'm having a big breakfast today. Grin

SassynSane · 30/03/2017 17:57

Hope you enjoyed your big breakfast Bath!

Just home from long day at work. Food, tidy up, school reading, DD bed, few bits PTA admin then bed too...shattered today! TFI Friday tomorrow! Hope you've managed to make it through the day Malcolm - thought of you earlier as doing some planning for Open Days in June & Sept today! Has DS1 got any more of an idea which Unis he wants to target?

Right....what was no. 1 on my list? Ah...yes...food!

BathshebaDarkstone · 30/03/2017 18:44

Picked the kids up, in the Sainsbury's café, DS2 had chicken nuggets, chips and beans, DD had macaroni cheese, I had mozzarella pasta salad, they shared a double chocolate choux bun and a salted caramel muffin for pudding, I had a lemon curd muffin. Grin

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 30/03/2017 23:12

Evening. Am flipping shattered. Looks like DS2 might actually have a tummy bug, although I think he's definitely teething as well, he's got all the signs.

However, he's had about 6 dirty nappies today, all very loose (sorry! 😷) plus DD1 was off school with a similar thing, so who knows? He's not been himself today, that's for sure, but it could be that he's just exhausted after his broken night. DD1 is going to have to stay home tomorrow as she was still being poorly well into the afternoon, so I can't send her in until she's been clear for 24 hours. Just waiting for everyone else to come down with it now...!

Sassy, DS1 is going to go to Open Days at Durham, St Andrews, Exeter, Warwick and Birmingham, I think. He can't decide between Politics or Modern Languages at the m

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 30/03/2017 23:17

Bum. Was typing too quickly and hit post by mistake!

Was saying that DS1 can't decide on which course to do at University, I'm hoping he'll get more of an idea once he's been to a few Open Days. Not sure if the ones he's looking at are a good mix or not? There comes a point when as a parent you have to take a step back and let your soon-to-be-adult child make most of the decisions about what path to take (although I can't let go completely!). DS1 seems to be interested in these ones, and he's predicted good grades, so I guess we'll see.

Bath, hope all well with you. The lemon curd muffin sounds amazing!

Sassy, your day sounds hectic! Hope you managed to relax in the end. Friday tomorrow!!! 🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊

OP posts:
SassynSane · 31/03/2017 07:19

Morning Brew Hoping DS2 slept better last night Malcolm and you too? Oh dear, yes it does sound as though it's a tummy bug. Hope everyone feels better soon!

Good mix of Unis...Birmingham is a fab campus Uni....might be slightly biased however as did my 1st degree there (some of the best years of my life & v fond memories).

So pleased it's Friday. Got night out with a friend tomorrow, off for cocktails then to a steak restaurant. Can't wait! Yum! Any nice weekend plans? Hope you both have a good Friday x

BathshebaDarkstone · 31/03/2017 07:54

Morning! The DC are playing Terraria on DS2's tablet in bed, I'm drinking coffee and watching BBC breakfast news. GrinBrew

Malcolm the lemon curd muffin was amazing! I'm working my way through Sainsbury's cakes... GrinCake

Hope your DC recover soon. Flowers

BathshebaDarkstone · 31/03/2017 08:01

Weekend plans, same as usual: Saturday breakfast in the Sainsbury's café, buy stuff for DS2's Easter bonnet, DD's making hers at my aunt's, the Easter bonnet parade's on the first day back at school, buying them t-shirts so they've got a change of clothes for the holidays, Sunday pyjama day. Grin

SassynSane · 31/03/2017 10:49

Loving your Sunday plans Bath! Grin

BathshebaDarkstone · 31/03/2017 21:02

That's pretty much every Sunday! Grin

Had Italian style chicken with zesty grains for supper, which DD helped to make, the DC were in bed by 6.20, I'm in bed now. Grin

SassynSane · 31/03/2017 21:27

Big bowl of pasta this end followed by some chocolate Grin Home alone so lazy food! Will make up for it tomorrow eve with my steak and cocktails, LOL!

Sleep well Bath.

BathshebaDarkstone · 31/03/2017 21:36

You too Sassy

SassynSane · 31/03/2017 21:50
