Morning! Sorry I've been AWOL, life's just been a bit crazy (and pretty crap) recently.
All the Uni visits went well, lots for DS1 to think about. I think Warwick and Durham are his favourites so far, but all of the ones he's seen are really competitive and want mostly A's, which he's on track for, but I think it's kind of freaked him out a bit! It's the University of Kent this weekend, then that's it until October.
I've had a pretty rubbish weekend, DD1 decided that DH being away meant she could be really hideous, so I was trying to deal with her, plus DD2 isn't very well and then the two youngest as well.
Yesterday I literally just went from one thing to the next and the next and the next without a break, and every time I turned by back DD3 put her new-found ability to get over the child gate into practice, got out of the family room and was basically just running round the house grabbing things she shouldn't be, etc. It took me 2 hours to put the shopping away because I had to keep stopping! Summed up my day, really.
So DD2's ear has got a lot worse over the past few days. It's started leaking wax and gunk and she can barely hear out of it at all. And when it does pop and she can hear, she says it's all echoing and weird. Plus it's becoming increasingly sore. This morning, there was just so much disgusting gunk leaking out, it was unreal. And there amongst it was a grommet! So it obviously was in there somewhere, just not where it should have been. Anyway, I've been giving her Calpol and Nurofen and also going into school to top her up, but this morning her ear is still hurting even after having it.
I've rung the dr to go onto the telephone surgery and her consultant appointment is tomorrow.
As well as DD2's ear, DH's back is playing up again. He had a herniated disc a few years ago which he eventually needed surgery for, after nearly 18 months of pain and physio that didn't work 😡. And now he's in a lot of pain again plus he's got sciatica in his leg which is what he had before. He's had to go back to physio but I think we both know that's not going to fix it.
It just seems to be one thing after the other at the moment!
Anyway, Sassy!!!!! I'm going to head over to the pigeon thread next! I can't believe she returned! 🐦🐦🐦
And yuk to the nits. DD2's friend has them at the moment, it's driving her poor mum crazy as they keep reappearing, even after combing and treatment. DD2 is clear so far, but I suspect it's just a matter of time...!
Gosh, that must have been scary for you when your friend fainted! Is she prone to doing that? If not, it might be worth a trip to the GP to get herself checked over.
And I'm glad you enjoyed the concerts, even if the second one wasn't as good. Any more coming up?
We had to camp out on chairs a couple of months ago whilst waiting for our new sofa, it made us appreciate it even more when it arrived!
Hope all well with you too, EDBD? How's ED'sLad doing? Has he had his follow up appointment yet following his op?
And as if to sum up my life right now, I was just giving DS2 a cuddle, just enjoying a moment of quiet and letting that feeling of calm that you get when cuddling your child spread over you.....and he vommed right down me. Like literally right in between my boobs, down my top. Thanks DS2!!!!
Hope you both have a great day! I'm off to change!!!
