Yes, I hope DS2 isn't too grumpy, as he didn't get to sleep until 8.20! HmmGin

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 25/03/2017 22:26

Glad your day went well, Sassy, even if you did it on 4 hours sleep!!! 😱

Hope you have a lovely time tomorrow, Bath, and that the DC's enjoy the film.

I let DD1 have a PJ day as she was still catching up from the trip away. She was a bit grumpy this afternoon, but all in all, not too bad, considering!

Hope you both have a lovely Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day lovely ladies FlowersCakeWine xx

BathshebaDarkstone · 27/03/2017 07:37

Morning! All ready for school, DD's in her summer dress, had coco pops, watching Pokémon. Grin

The Smurfs was great, we got goody bags and free popcorn and bottles of water. Had lunch in McDonald's. Grin

SassynSane · 27/03/2017 07:45

Morning! Brew

Aww glad you had a good time yesterday Bath. Summer dress in March is def a reason to be cheerful. Weather is lovely isn't it? Went to the seaside yesterday afternoon and it really was shorts & t-shirt weather (DD and I both in jumper & jeans but was nice to feel warm).

How's you Malcolm? Good Mother's Day yesterday?

Hope everyone has a good Monday. Cat has to go to vets this morning for annual booster...neither of us are going to enjoy that much!

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 27/03/2017 08:17

Morning!

Glad you and the DC's enjoyed the film, Bath, I was thinking of you, especially as I was all out of sorts all morning because of the clocks going forward! I kept thinking it was an hour earlier than it actually was. So getting into central London for 9.30 much have been a mission!

Sassy, I hope you had a very lazy day yesterday and recovered from all your illness and rushing about! Are you feeling better? DS1 is going to a UCAS exhibition thingy tomorrow in London, where all the Universities have stalls, etc - made me think of you! He's in the Lower Sixth, but we're pushing him to start researching choices now so that we can go and visit them sooner rather than later. It's a big decision and a LOT of money, so he needs to think about it properly. Trouble is, he's so laid back he's practically horizontal and doesn't see that there's any rush!!!

I had a lovely Mothers Day. DH made me breakfast and we went out for a late lunch with my parents. It was very nice.

Back to reality today though!

Have a good day everyone.

Sassy! Just seen your post. The seaside?!!! How utterly lovely! I'm ever so jealous, we're about as far away from the sea as it's possible to get here!

Glad you had a wonderful day with your DD.

Yes was a nice afternoon and lifted my spirits. Being a single mummy on Mother's Day is sometimes hard as really it's Groundhog Day with no-one to treat me etc plus being surrounded by nuclear families can be a little disheartening, however yesterday aft was good. At one point DD decided she felt a bit sleepy and came and curled up on me whilst we were sat on the beach and sat watching the sea with my arms wrapped around her made my Mother's Day perfect Smile Glad you had a good day too!

Good luck to DS1 for tomorrow. Prob won't have all the answers but if there's anything that comes up you're not sure of you can also PM me!

SassynSane · 27/03/2017 10:03

Meant to type always....but also works as well I guess Wink

BathshebaDarkstone · 27/03/2017 10:03

I'm having a ham and mushroom omelette today. Grin

Malcolm we got up the time we'd normally get up for school, but of course we lost an hour, so were knackered! BrewBrewBrew It was great fun though, although I'll take a bigger bag next time, for all the freebies! Grin

BathshebaDarkstone · 27/03/2017 10:08

Sassy the weather is lovely, but still too cold at 8am not to wear tights, how do you dress for a whole day? Confused

SassynSane · 27/03/2017 12:50

DD went in her tights today and normal winter uniform as actually cloudy here and although it was supposed to lift by now and be all blue skies and sunshine, it hasn't and it's quite cold Hmm Hoping it picks up later! Heehee....empty rucksack next time Bath!!

BathshebaDarkstone · 27/03/2017 19:26

Definitely Sassy Grin

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 27/03/2017 22:34

Evening! Hope you all had a lovely day. Mine was busy, busy, busy with lots of boring jobs, having to take DD1 into town for an extra ballet lesson (she's doing her ballet exam this term 😩), sorting out two rather idiotic babies who were determined, for some reason, to try to kill themselves today and also having a final push on some crochet squares for the Chernobyl project, as the deadline is next week!

And then dinner (which was meant to be a quick and easy shove in the oven for 25 mins) ended up taking over an hour to cook!!! 😡 I eventually ate at about 9.20pm, which was horrible. We usually try to eat around 7.45, but Mondays are always later because DD2 has Brownies until 8. But this was a whole new level of ridiculousness and I'm now feeling uncomfortably full.

Thank you for the offer re UCAS/universities, etc Sassy. I will definitely call upon your expertise if needed! I haven't got a clue really about it all, I'm hoping that DA1's sixth form will talk us all through the process in September. Still, DS1 has a list of stalls he wants to go and look at, including Durham, Warwick and St Andrews. I did ask him if he was deliberately choosing the furthest ones away!!! Grin

Hope you're doing okay, Bath. How's BathsLad getting on with this round of chemo? Thinking of you both.

See you tomorrow!

OP posts:
BathshebaDarkstone · 28/03/2017 04:37

Morning! Drinking coffee and watching BBC world news. GrinBrew

I'm absolutely fine thanks Malcolm, your day sounds exhausting! Shock

BathsLad's hanging on in there, he has his Hug with him. He only has chemotherapy one night at a time, he'll be transferring to the other hospital today. Smile

SassynSane · 28/03/2017 07:49

Morning Brew

Hope you managed to sleep ok after your late meal Malcolm? And your busy day yesterday! I have my rearranged massage this morning at 11am and can't wait. Def need a bit of relaxation. Yes 6th form should talk you through the process. DS1 needs to settle on a course then look at options he's likely to get into based on his predicted grades. Exciting times!

Bath really hope no chest infection this time!!! How far is he through chemo now?

Sunshine again this morning. Lovely to wake up to. Hope you both have good days Smile

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 28/03/2017 08:23

Morning!

Glad to hear both you and BathsLad are doing okay, Bath.

Sassy - sun?!!!! 😠 It's blinking foggy here! Enjoy your lovely massage - I'm very envious!

I did NOT sleep well last night. DS2 woke up screaming at about 11.15 and didn't go to sleep until 2.35!!! I tried Calpol, Calgel, cuddling, having him in bed - still screamed every time I tried to put him back in his cot. Eventually I gave him a bottle but even that didn't send him off! I can see white lumps under his top gum, so I'm just praying that these bloody teeth cut through soon!!!

Aaaarrrrrggghhhhh! 😴

Luckily I'm less busy today (I hope!) which is just as well as I don't feel capable of anything much at all. Poor DH had to get up extra-early as well, because DS1 had to be at school for 7.30 for his UCAS trip to London! And he's got pretty much back-to-back meetings all day, too. It's always on those days that something happens, isn't it?!

Have a good day, everyone!

OP posts:
SassynSane · 28/03/2017 09:16

Arghhh....coffee, sofa, tv day then Malcolm. Hope you get through the day ok. Early supper and early bed tonight!

Yes massage come at v good time as still shattered after bug and doing the school event at the weekend so bit of relaxation before mad day at work will be much appreciated! We have another visit day tomorrow (so A Level students holding offers for this Sept & their parents) so busy day and lots of smiling!

Still lovely sunshine here though s'posed to rain at some point apparently.

BathshebaDarkstone · 28/03/2017 10:10

He always gets a chest infection Sassy Sad

This is his last round of chemotherapy, then his op. Smile

I'm having scrambled eggs and bacon today. Grin

BathshebaDarkstone · 28/03/2017 10:15

I found that Teetha worked better than Calgel Malcolm, Calgel just slides off. Ffing's good, they chew your nipples rather than sucking when they're teething. Shock

BathshebaDarkstone · 28/03/2017 10:29

BathsLad has his Hug with him. DM says, as an ex knitter, it's beautiful. Grin

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 28/03/2017 11:54

Bath! That's amazing - the last round of chemotherapy!!! 🎉🎊

I'm so glad he's at the point where he can have his op, hopefully will that then stop the need for more chemo? Do you have a date for the op yet?

I am off to order some Teetha pronto!!! Thanks for the tip.

Sassy, I hope you're having a relaxing time!

I'm just about to start my third coffee...Brew

Scrambled eggs and bacon sounds divine! 🤤

SassynSane · 28/03/2017 11:56

Bet he and you are pleased it's the last lot of chemo Bath. Wonderful he has his Candy Hug with him Smile. When is his op? Does he have a date yet? Will keep everything crossed for you both then!

Just back from my massage. Was absolutely wonderful. So good I have booked myself in for another one in 4wks time (this one was a Christmas present from a friend, next time will be a present from me to myself Wink). Now sat in a patch of sun out back. Bliss!

BathshebaDarkstone · 28/03/2017 21:04

I'm in bed. Grin

DD and I are signing up for Candy's Hugs, DM has bought me a teach yourself book, a crochet hook and knitting needles! DS2 would like to learn as well, but I'm not sure his squares will be Hug standard at age 5! Grin

I'm not sure when the op is, I'll let you know when I do.

Malcolm when teeth start coming through, apply Teetha with a cotton bud, those little teeth are like needles! Shock

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 28/03/2017 22:32

Yay, Bath, another hooker!!! WinkGrin I'll warn you now, it's seriously addictive, but ever so much fun. I'm trying to churn out as many squares for the Chernobyl project at the mo (deadline is next week!) but will go back to Candy's Hugs afterwards (plus maybe a few projects of my own!).

I can highly recommend the Bella Coco tutorials on You Tube. It's what I used to teach myself and if I can do it, honestly, anyone can!!!

I will definitely do that with the Teetha, thanks. I've ordered some and am hoping it arrives soon!

Today DS2 has had three highly explosive, requiring a full change, teething nappies. Of course, one of them was just as I was leaving for the school run! 😡 I swear, he'd better wake up with a full set of gnashers tomorrow!

Your afternoon sounds heavenly, Sassy. Such a contrast to mine! 😂 Glad you booked another one for yourself, well done! We all need a little spoiling every now and then!

Right, I'm off for some hopefully unbroken sleep.

See you in the morning!
