Morning! I slept through, yay!! I will try and find that thread EDBD! There is now an alternative to the Peter thread....

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 13/04/2017 08:36

Morning! Glad you slept through, Sassy! Love that you fed the seagull instead of chasing it off, you're a better woman than I!

EDBD - is the goat thread the one in Chat? I saw one in there but wasn't sure if it was the main one, or a spin-off, as it was referring to another one I think.

Still feeling dodgy, I wonder if it is stress-related, I guess time will tell. Going to take it easy today in any case. Was meant to be going on a walk in the forest with my friend and her children, but had to cancel Sad. Oh well, hopefully next week.

Have a good day!

Hope you feel better soon Malcolm, look after yourself today Flowers

Last full day of hols here. Back home tomorrow. Going to make the most of the view!

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 13/04/2017 09:47

Thanks, Sassy - enjoy your last day. It sounds like you've had an amazing time!

DD3 slept in until just gone 9!!! That is absolutely unheard of, she normally wakes up around 6.30! Gave me a chance to get up and dressed and sort DS2 out at least. Grin

SassynSane · 13/04/2017 10:29

Hope that's not ominous and DD3 isn't coming down with something? Yes had a lovely time. Been the odd time when I would have liked some adult company but in the main had fun with DD. Treating us to a meal at a nice Italian this eve for our last night 😊

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 13/04/2017 10:45

I was actually seriously considering going and giving her a poke as she wasn't moving! But then she started to stir so I gave myself a good talking to about over-reacting!!! 😂

She seems okay, but I did wonder if she's getting what I've got, if it is a bug. I'm still suffering now and to top it all off, I need to make an emergency work-related trip out for a couple of hours! Just about to scour the cupboards for some Immodium!!!

OP posts:
SassynSane · 13/04/2017 10:52

Ooh...good luck Malcolm Hope you get through the day ok & hope DD3 doesn't succumb Smile

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 13/04/2017 11:51

No sodding Immodium, just a shed load of teething granules, teething gel, Calpol and plasters!!!

So far, so good! Emergency being sorted as we speak (water leak!) by my very lovely plumber who I've worked with for years.

Tum felt tres dodge on the way over, but seems to be calmer now! I'm sure you really wanted to know that!!! GrinHmm

Good job you weren't me yesterday then...I did all my nails then suddenly found myself really needing the loo. Cue much hopping and arm waving trying to dry them enough to go. Hilarious! Grin Glad you made it ok. What do you do btw, workwise?

SassynSane · 13/04/2017 13:32

Just read it EDBD. Hilarious! You going for the 2 tvs or the 2 goats? 😂😂😂

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 13/04/2017 20:19

It's such a difficult decision! The DC would probably prefer the TVs, but goats would be a lovely addition to the family! Grin

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 13/04/2017 20:30

Had lasagne for lunch, went to the park until suppertime, had chicken and king prawn paella, DS2 was in bed by 7.30, I was in bed by 8. Grin

SassynSane · 13/04/2017 20:44

Goats for us here definitely! We went to Italian for our last hol supper. DD had pizza, I had carbonara. She had ice cream and I had cheesecake to follow. Was lovely Smile

Hope you sleep well EDBD!

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 14/04/2017 05:17

Morning! Drinking coffee and watching BBC world news. GrinBrew

I'm only up to beat DS2. I like to get dressed, have Brew and watch some news before he gets up.

SassynSane · 14/04/2017 06:44

Morning Brew That's one race I would never win! Fortunately DD is like me and doesn't do mornings and will stay in bed until the last min possible which can make the school run a bit stressful but weekends and holidays bliss!

Heading home later. Hoping the traffic isn't too mental! Hope everyone has a Good Friday Grin

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 14/04/2017 08:39

Morning all!

Had an early night and a good sleep and now I feel much better!

Sassy, I run my own business letting out and managing properties. It's very small-scale, I'm in no way a property magnate(!!!) and most of my tenants have been with me 5+ years. I pride myself on offering well decorated and well maintained properties that are available for a long-term let.

It allows me to work from home but does have its drawbacks. I've had to deal with issues whilst on holiday, while I was in hospital with DD2 for the first of her operations or my personal favourite, a tenant who wanted me to go and let the plumber into his property whilst I was about to go in for my c-section with DS2! It can be stressful at times, because I always want to do my very best for my tenants, but on the whole, I really love my job.

Yesterday, I had a phone call from the management company of a building where I own a flat, to say that the flat below mine had water dripping through their ceiling! 😱 I knew my tenants were away for a week (typical!) so I had to get DS1 to look after the babies, jump in the car, call my plumber on the way and drive 40 minutes to the property.

Turned out it was the cold water feed to the toilet which was dripping, but because they weren't there to notice, it had made a big puddle that had gone through to downstairs.

The plumber sorted the leak and I mopped up the puddle, wrung out their bath mat and put it to dry and then cleaned the floor once the plumber had left. They are lovely tenants and I know that they would have let me know immediately if they'd spotted a leak before they went, so it's just one of those things!

I've got loads of stories, but I appreciate they're probably only interesting to me! Grin

Anyway, I hope you have a safe and quick journey home, Sassy.

EDBD - I'm one of the few landlords who does allow pets in my area, but I might have to draw the line at goats!!! 😂 I've an absolute horror story about a tenant and her pet rats so I tend to stick with the tried and tested cats and/or dogs scenarios now!

Have a good day everyone!

You'd love me as a tenant Malcolm, been in my place for 7yrs now. It is very definitely my home and not somewhere I just rent & am very proud of it! Being a single mum means home ownership is out of my reach but hopefully one day (used to be on the property ladder, should never have come off but that's a whole other thread!). Sounds like a lovely job - rats, random events & c-section requests aside!

Glad to hear you're feeling better this morning. Lovely sunny day here. Makes it harder to leave! But DD going to exDP this eve so need to head back. Yes fingers crossed on the traffic. Taking the cross country route which is stunning so scenery will be welcome distraction at least Smile

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 14/04/2017 08:55

DS2 woke up at 5.50, had chocolate pancakes, watching SheZow. ChocolateHmm

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 14/04/2017 09:23

Malcolm my landlord lives in Southend and never visits, he wouldn't even know if we had goats! Grin

SassynSane · 14/04/2017 18:16

Get the goats EDBD, get the goats!

Home again. Took me 2.5hrs-ish so not too bad. Left bright blue sky and warm sunshine and got back to cool cloud Hmm DD just been picked up so won't see her again until Weds eve....sigh....long old weekend by myself and home far too quiet....might have to live vicariously through your Easter plans, EDBD & Malcolm, any good ones?

EvilDoctorBallerinaDuck · 14/04/2017 21:20

I'll be on the phone to the council on Tuesday Sassy, claiming my goats! Grin

On Easter Sunday morning, ridiculously early, I'll be hiding a chocolate bunny and a Transformers egg, that's really the extent of our Easter plans! Blush

Went to the Sainsbury's café for lunch with DF, DS2 had chicken nuggets, chips and peas, a double chocolate choux bun for pudding, DF had chicken and veg broth (he's had a stomach bug), I had a mega brunch, back home, DD came back, had chilli for supper, DS2 was in bed by 6.30, DD's just gone to bed, so have I. Grin

SassynSane · 14/04/2017 21:28

Looking forward to goat pics in the future Gast Grin

First time I haven't had DD on Easter Sunday Sad Not religious but def gonna miss Easter treats and big old Sunday dinner etc. Will be doing hunt for her next Thursday...not quite the same but there we go.

I have had big veggie stir fry for supper with 2 large glasses of Wine & a big bag of Revels! Grin Managed to persuade the cat to curl up on my lap so bit of company watching Gogglebox at least, LOL.

MalcolmTuckersOmniShambles · 14/04/2017 22:11

Oooh Sassy - you can probably help me! I just turned the TV over to the very last bit of Gogglebox and the show they were watching looked brilliant but I don't know what it was!!! It was a police drama thingy, I was hooked even though I only saw a couple of minutes!

You sound like you'd be my perfect tenant, btw! Glad you got home safe and sound and I hope you don't miss DD too much. Look at it this way, you get to celebrate Easter on Sunday and then again when she's back - twice the amount of chocolate!!! 🍫🍫🍫

EDBD - get the goats!!! If your landlord hasn't provided you with a lawnmower for your lawn, you could always say you were taking matters into your own hands! 🤗🐐

I'm much the same as you guys, no big Easter plans. DH and DS1 spent all day building a shed in the garden, tomorrow they need to do a tip run.

We usually go over to my parents' on Easter Sunday, but they're in California visiting my brother at the moment, so we're going to do a Google Hangout with them all tomorrow instead. It's going to blow DD3's mind to see them there! She already says her cousin's name over and over again, together with 'all gone' whenever she sees the laptop, when she sees her grandparents there too, it's really going to confuse her!!!
