Hope the antibiotics are kicking in Bads and Madame's migraine has eased. I'm still coughing but it's not so bad now.

Well, DGS has been back to the hospital, had another x-ray and his arm is broken. He's in the plaster for 3 weeks. It's a bit worrying because this is his third break. After the second when he was 2, they asked if he needed a bone scan, but apparently not. Anyway, he's here now and is absolutely fine, playing with his cars.

I'm still coughing sadly apes - thought it was a bit better earlier but now seems as bad as ever

The Winter Solstice occurred this morning at 10.44am. This was the moment when the North Pole was tilted furthest from the sun, so giving us our shortest day. The afternoons actually started to draw out on the 15th December, but the mornings continue to get darker until the 2nd January. This is because the Earth moves in an elliptical orbit and speeds up or slows down with the gravitational pull of the sun, so the solar day is longer or shorter than 24 hours depending on the time of year. However, the net light gain tomorrow over today will be 3 seconds, which makes me very happy wenches, because we are now on the other side!

Fortunately I didn't have time to log in this morning or I'd have spent the day transfixed by the thought of Athos examining my figures (to be fair, it wouldn't take him very long since there's not much to examine. So he'd have to repeat the process, from various angles )
