Badders Sad re cough. A fried of mine shared this discouraging headline: Doctors warn Brits with epidemic lingering hacking cough that is plaguing the nation: 'There's nothing we can do' Sadly, she's a GP, so I assume the article is relatively truthful.

Don't think it's raining here, but it very overcast...

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/01/2017 12:55

What are you watching Elementary on Madame/Badders? Is it worth trying to catch up? Have I got enough spare hours in the day night my life?

MadamedeChevreuse · 09/01/2017 13:06

helen I have a firestick in my tv so I bought s1 off amazon for about £16 I think. badders watches it on Nowtv. They currently have a tempting cheap trial offer, but you need some kind of set top box and it doesnt work on a firestick, so I cba.

The show is really really good though. Brilliantly written and acted. Piss funny. Jlm is a god properly hilarious. Chemistry betweem jlm and the female watson (lucy liu) is fantastic. Refreshingly, it's a totally non-romantic relationship though.

So laser quest is £16 a head. Ds wanted to invite about 17 kids. Ouch. Anyone know what the going rate for church hall hire is?

Badders123 · 09/01/2017 13:45

I have now tv.
I bought it on offer from Amazon last year to watch GofT 👍🏻
It's great.
I watch loads of stuff on it. It thought I would let it lapse after GofT anded but I decided to keep it on for a fiver a month
The initial offer was eighteen quid for six months inc. box

Badders123 · 09/01/2017 13:46

You can buy them off Amazon too

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/01/2017 13:52

£16/head. FTFO laser quest! Shock (actually, that doesn't surprise me... Sad )

Have messaged you some de-anonymising links! Grin

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 09/01/2017 13:54

sorry - that ^^ was to Madame not badders - obviously.

We don't do Amazon TV or Now TV I'm sure it will be on SKy somewhere, somehow, if I could be arsed...

FancyFancy · 09/01/2017 14:02

Blimey, that's quite a bit per head Shock

Afternoon.

Interesting re the cough. I can go a couple of days with nothing and then get an awful fit of it. DH is worse than me.

Oh dear Madame, children's parties are a nightmare these days. I think I stopped them after the DC got to about 8. All we had was swimming or McDonald's if you didn't want to ruin your home/have a nervous breakdown do them yourself.

Well, we've spent the last two hours trying to restore the sound on my computer which mysteriously disappeared. DH has had everything to pieces, wires all over the place, much swearing and at one point we lost the internet altogether. Turned out it was the sound on the monitor which had somehow been turned off. Oops! Confused

Off to fetch DGS from school.

Badders123 · 09/01/2017 16:46

Oh ffs apes! Yes I didn't let mrApes near a screwdriver did you?
Have you learnt nothing!?
🙄😂
Football training for ds1 tonight so we will see how he copes as he is coughing too 🙄
I must watch Sherlock later if I feel in the mood

Badders123 · 09/01/2017 18:49

Watched Sherlock... baffled 😕

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 09/01/2017 19:09

Have fun Fancy Wink

Oh no Apes ShockGrin

LetUsPrey · 09/01/2017 19:59

Evening wenches.

Tired McTiredface from Tiredsville.

How does MrApricot not do himself an injury when he's out golfing? Clubs, balls, falling in the water, getting nutted by an angry squirrel.

Big bog off to LaserQuest for those prices. How old will he be Madame? Are they still up for seventh circle of hell soft play if there's one near you?

Keep going Badderz (although if you didn't particularly like last week, not sure you'll like this one). Toby Jones is very very good. Batch is awesome as ever unbiased.

It's Paella's birthday today. I've been helping him celebrate all day and expect to continue well into the night I bloody wish

ApricotCrush · 09/01/2017 20:00

I think I may have given the impression that DH is useless at DIY. He's not, he can do/mend anything, electrics, plumbing, decorating, tiling, carpentry, you name it, he's brilliant. He's put kitchens and bathrooms in for all of us and saved us a fortune over the years. It's just that he pays scant regard to his safety and has a tendency to take risks. Shortly after we were married he was working as an electrician at a school and was asked to leave the juice on because they had some locusts in a tank. He did, the installation blew up and he spent three weeks in hospital with 10% burns. He was off work for 4 months but on the positive side he changed career so it worked out well in the end.

We're watching The Halcyon which is on later. It's is a bit like Downton in a hotel. Not bothering with Sherlock, it sounds too taxing. Hmm

ApricotCrush · 09/01/2017 20:02

x-post LetUs. Golf is an other story, I could add that to the book. Gin

ApricotCrush · 09/01/2017 20:03

Haha, yes, gin would be useful at times. Grin

MadamedeChevreuse · 09/01/2017 20:10

Christ apes! Shock Why the bleedin eff did they make him leave the power on? I hope he got compensation for that...

letus Grin at nutted by angry squirrel.

Im beyond gutted at the LQ prices. I was so hoping not to have to do a party outselves this year. He is going to be 7, but Im not sure I can bear soft play tbh. LQ is something he really wanted to do, which is the only reason I looked into it as it is not my idea of fun either. Hmm

ApricotCrush · 09/01/2017 20:18

To be fair, it was only a request, but he was trying to be helpful. There was no Industrial Injuries in those days, but he did receive compensation for lost wages.

Confused

Poor MrApes Shock I once got livid because my headphones didn't work when I was transcribing, turned out Fräsan had chewed off the cable, glad I didn't report it to IT Confused

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 09/01/2017 20:31

Laser quest is fun, I only done it once and didn't really know what I was doing, mostly running around shooting people Grin

JaneElk · 09/01/2017 20:35

Having perused all 3 series very carefully, this is the closest Athos came to his top off. It'll have to do I'm afraid. And you're possibly right Wicked, he has knots in string doesn't have guns to compare with the others, but given the horror he expressed at the thought of a press ups in the mud style bootcamp at the beginning, the only full rack I can imagine him bench pressing would be mine.

Apes, you can add 'Musketeer roper' to that list, MrApes is a bloody marvel Grin

Bosomy snuggles all round
