ITALIAN mums out there - franca etc

DS is sick, what would a good Italian mum cook for him? First time he is properly sick, I need to cook him something, even if he might not eat it...

we are going with some friends and found an agriturismo on the hills near volterra... I'll really try to go to fucheccio, to my shame I don't know toscana well at all, so hopefully we'll manage to travel around a bit. (the only problem is that it's going to be in august, which, now that ds has started school, is the only month we can go on holiday, and it'll be very busy)

I am from Florence but I lived all my adolescence in a place called San donato in Poggio near Poggibonsi - Colle Val D'elsa, (probably who knows Fucecchio knows this places as well). I actually do not miss my homeplace because I think Italy is to narrow minded for me. I like living here although i miss my family a lot. I love going home on a holiday my father lives in orbetello where the sea is still wonderful. ve lo consiglio (wink)!!

Ciao stellina... Anch'io sono tifosissima della Toscana. Ho studiato (cent'anni fa, o almeno cosi' sembra) a Siena (all'universita' per stranieri). Quante ore perse sui binari della stazione di Empoli, ad aspettare la coincidenza per Siena! E poi, visto che ho dedicato gran parte della mia vita al vostro Grande Poeta, un pezzettino del mio cuore deve per forza appartenere anche a Firenze!

ciao tutte - mi posso introdurre anche se no sono italiana? Con questo discorso di Toscana soffro di nostalgia. Ho passato un bel'anno nelle colline vicino Galluzzo, e mi manca Italia. Fortunatament ho ancora degli amici in Toscana e Brescia.

Oggi ho portato il mio piccolino in piscina, mi son divertita anche io! Adesso son tutti e due a fare un pisolino...e cosi' mi rilasso anch'io...
Son felice che tante di voi mamme abbian nel cuore la toscana! Quest'anno vorrei andare in sardegna, non ci sono mai stata, ma tutti dicono che e' un sogno...

una domanda...voi mamme vi siete mai incontrate? per una pizza o un caffe'?c'e' nessuno che vive dalle mie parti? (oakwood-N14?).
prima di avere i bimbi lavoravo nella city, adesso che sono full time mum un po' mi manca il contatto cn gli adulti...a voi no??

Poggibonsi mi ricorda il romanzo di Cassola, La ragazza di Bube che amai tantissimo da ragazzina. Di sicuro li troverai dei paesini poco busy, immagino che tutti staranno al mare in Agosto no? Io abito lontano da te Stellina. Che cosa facevi nella City tu, un lavoro interessante?

lavoravo per la banca di roma. mi son dvertita tanto in quel periodo... sono rimasta in buoni rapporti e ogni tanto vado a trovarli. ma adesso credo che non ci tornei...e' un mondo completamente diverso, troppo stress...quando potro' tornare a lavoro vorrei fare qualcosa di diverso magari locally. non mi piace fare la pendolare specialmente con i tempi che corrono...(sad)
e tu? di dove sei?
io mi son trasferita in uk per amore ma non me ne pento perche' ci sto abbastanza bene

Agriturismo, well this is an old farm, that's been converted into rooms and little flats. The farm is still working, and get some funding by the EU. It should provide good accomodation at more or less affordable price. We are paying around 700 euros a week for a 2 bedroom flat, with a front garden, use of communal swimmingpool (which I don't really care about, but being the place not right on the spiaggia, it'llbecome handy).
As for MN meetings, I met the exeter mnetter on saturday and I thought it was lovely
