DS is sick, what would a good Italian mum cook for him? First time he is properly sick, I need to cook him something, even if he might not eat it...

hurrah pippi!
[I'd spend a whole day in IKEA, examining storage boxes)

PippiLangstrump · 25/05/2007 20:45

we might even complete next thursday! ah now I can have a relaxing weekend. and I have packed quite a lot: 10 boxes of books so far. the flat is a tip but I am so happy. fingers crossed.

also DD went to bed without a cry! and the reason is: I've turned the cot inot a bed and she went without a fuss! why didn't oyu tell me that was the problem!!!

francagoestohollywood · 25/05/2007 20:50

Great Pippi! ( dd is still in her cot...)

PippiLangstrump · 25/05/2007 21:12

how old is she? TBH she was going to be in one for a long time as well but I noticed that when she is at my mum or at MIL she absolutely refused point blank to sleep in the travel cot. hence today's try!

I am only worried I'll hear a bump tonight!

francagoestohollywood · 25/05/2007 21:22

well done! dd is 3

Rosa5 · 26/05/2007 13:10

Keep fingers crossed that you complete and happy boxing up .
Its humid and horrible here today dd is sticky and whingy ( so is dh !)
At 3 do you keep the sides up of the cot or does she use it like a bed ??

mediterraneo · 26/05/2007 16:39

i moved ds at 2 1/2 - made my life easier as he could get out of bed on his own and play in his room without our input, if you see what i mean. I think he liked to be treated finally like a big boy, it followed being potty trained. Earlier than that, I would have had to worry about him doing stupid things whilst we slept(chucking the kettle on the floor, climbing on the blinds, etc) At 2 1/2 he suddenly became sensible.

francagoestohollywood · 26/05/2007 18:50

I'm a shamed to say, she's still in the cot - cot! This is mainly my fault, as I haven't fund a junior bed we like. And dh won't drive me to IKEA!

mediterraneo · 26/05/2007 19:25

we got our toddler bed from ikea. i wish i had bought a normal size bed though, handier for guests. i couldn't live without ikea.

francagoestohollywood · 26/05/2007 19:59

I love Ikea too, but it's in Bristol, an hour and a hald drive from here, it's been two years now since last time we went...
I'm exhausted, we had a little party for dd today. I think she had a lovely time and I made "icing" for the first time

mediterraneo · 26/05/2007 21:13

how many bambini? i find that having 2 is great, 3 draining, 4 I haven't even tried.

mediterraneo · 26/05/2007 21:14

and did you also have the mums or just drop in?

MaryP0p1 · 27/05/2007 08:31

Hi everyone, how exciting, crossing my fingers for Thursday, I love pcking but I think I might be a bit far to help.

My kids now 9 and 5 both were in their beds at 3. We used the IKEA kids beds that extend into a proper size bed by the end. However the problem with them are the mattresses aren't very good so last year we bought two raised beds from IKEA and they are great. You can move the level as you need. When I finish school next week thats my project, reorganise the kids room. I hoping my friend the carpenter will come in an build me some shelfs in the cupboard we have. Failing that I pay for me Dad to come over in August and do the job, he wants to come anyway.

MaryP0p1 · 27/05/2007 08:34

I love having kids parties, I prefer them here though, not so much to prepare. We have a party for me and my DD every year (we have the same birthday) however generally they are always held in the garden we lots of outdoor play.

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2007 10:55

Not many bambini, as some couldn't come for different reasons, so it was 7 bambini (including mine) + a newborn. I think it was lovely, the children played very well together, no meltdowns etc and wine/G&T for the parents

mediterraneo · 27/05/2007 13:02

G & T? Smashing idea!

francagoestohollywood · 27/05/2007 13:06

I thouroughly recommend it
