bumblelion, just a quickie to say good luck with the MMR - my dd also had it (I spoke to doc about my concerns and she put my mind at rest and we decided to go ahead). DD took it all in her stride and had no reaction at all. Hope I can make the next meet up - would be really nice to meet everyone.

bumblelion, you are making just the right decision re:MMR. good luck, I'm sure you/she will be fine.

Am thinking that I might pop along for a coffee - Sasha's appointment is at 10 (should be out fairly quickly) and I have got the estate agents coming at 12. Playbarn is only 10/15 minutes drive from my house. I am thinking that Sasha will be tired by this time (normally in bed asleep at 10 am) and might be feeling a bit under the weather from the injection, but I might still pop along just to meet everyone. I can just sit with her, having a coffee, giving her cuddles (if she needs them), whereas if I was indoors, I would be running around like a mad woman tidying the house, athough the estate agent is only coming to take measurements and I have not got a potential buyer coming round.

I'm coming too!! But please watch out for me, as I haven't been to a meet up before, and don't know any of you... I will be accompanied by tall blonde 3 yr old and small dark 3 month old.
What do you do the first time at these things - sidle up to a bunch of likely looking Mums and whisper "Mumsnet, Mumsnet" surreptitiously??

Mo2 · 30/10/2002 13:04

Both my two are boys, by the way (realised it wasn't clear in the last post...)

Bumblelion · 30/10/2002 15:22

Mo2, I won't be there until about 10:20 - will be with a (very large) non-walking 1 year old (girl) in tow! She will be in a blue checked buggy although it will be me that is arriving after everyone else!

Last time I met Jodee, she was just sitting by the window and I cautiously meandered across.

This time I expect I will be the last one to arrive so, knowing me, will totally embarrass myself and go and sit with a group of women who are not even part of Mumsnet. When they start giving me funny looks, then I know I picked the wrong bunch!

jodee · 31/10/2002 18:18

Peeps, not sure if I will be coming now
We've been away for a couple of days and last night DH started throwing up, etc. and DS was fine until 4pm this afternoon when he started doing the same - touch wood I'm OK at the mo ...

Not sure if it's a bug or something they've eaten so will have to play it by ear (don't want to pass any nasties on to you all).

Bumblelion, I hope Sasha's MMR jab goes OK - personally I think you are doing the right thing too. LOL about 'cautiously meandering across' to speak to me - I must have been wearing my frightwig at the time!

Mo2 · 31/10/2002 20:31

sb34 & soupdragon - are you still planning to be there ? (I don't want to be Billy Nomates - my 3 yr old would undoubtedly say something hurtful like "Mummy - why are your friends not here?"

Looks like we can make it now - ds was fine all night!

SoupDragon · 01/11/2002 09:26

sb34 - Angelic children??? Have you traded your home decorator for another one?

SoupDragon · 01/11/2002 09:29

Bumbleion, don't get your hopes up: Aidan was as lively as a bag full of monkies after his MMR on Monday.

I intend being there as I'm meeting 2 other "real" friends (IYSWIM!!) for our usual Friday jaunt.

I've been without my broadband connection for FOUR DAYS now and I've been driven to housework. As a cure, I've just had to install dial up access to keep me sane.

Mo2 · 01/11/2002 19:48

Great to meet you all today! Sorry I didn't get to talk much - I'm not used to looking after 2 kids (DS1 usually in nursery...) and was a bit over-anxious today (not least because he kept walking into things/falling over in his new glasses).
sb34 - I CANNOT believe the co-incidence we uncovered right at the end... (ha, ha - that will keep them all guessing.. ) (Not that exciting actually..)

jodee · 02/11/2002 21:09

Nice to meet you too, Mo2; and Soupdragon (not knobbly at all!) and sb34 - and catch up with you again, Bumblelion!

Yes, it was great to put faces to names.

Bumblelion · 06/11/2002 11:13

Lovely to meet new and familiar faces.

Sorry it has taken me so long to add this message, I only find the time to get online when I am at work (what does that say about me).
