hi all!

going to a wedding this sat... church service is in Carshalton - south london...

me and the dh and dd will be arriving at about miday and the wedding isn't until 3... so we were wondering what carshalton is like... the high street... has it got lots of shops? are there many eateries and if so are they baby friendly? etc etc...

thanks in advance!!

Oops - just realised it's not Jodee organising - sorry sb34!

It's tricky for me as I'll be there but with other people as it's my usual Friday morning haunt. Not that it really matters of course.

If I'm there, I'll be the one in dark glasses and fake moustache, hiding behind a large newspaper.

Who's bringing what age toddlers? (Excuse the fantastic grammar there...) DS1 is normally in nursery, but I might bring him as a special treat, if I feel I can cope with him and DS2 (just 10 weeks old). DS1 is almost 3 - will this place be toddler heaven for him? (I've never been..)

Hi Mo2, sorry to miss you off my 'missing person's list yesterday! Glad you can make it too.

sb34, I hope you don't think I'm 'organised' either, you should see the state of my house ... (clean, but messy, I should add!)

Soupdragon, next time I will have my Super Detective hat on and try and impress you with my Sherlock impersonation (bumbling Inspector Clousseau, more like!)

SoupDragon · 19/10/2002 12:05

I'll leave the car-with-personalised-plate, Virgin Atlantic change bag, designer children's gear and whistling Soup Dragon at home then

jodee · 19/10/2002 14:50

Ah! But you can't leave 3 tans behind, can you!

SoupDragon · 20/10/2002 09:11

Tans??? We've been back for weeks, they've long gone... Sigh. And DS1's had his sun-induced highlights cut out

jodee · 20/10/2002 09:37

Soupdragon you're right of course, I've lost all track of time - and don't they look lovely with sun-kissed hair? Shame it doesn't last.

And that's reminded me that it's only 9 (and a bit) weeks to Christmas - eeeek!

SoupDragon · 20/10/2002 10:19

Sadly DS1, who used to do a beautiful shiney white blond in summer is going dark This may be the last summer of sun kissed hair for him. As DH and I are both dark haired, this may not be a bad thing as I get lots of questions! DS2 is still blond but seems to lack the sunkissed gene.

And I LOVE Christmas - can't wait!

Bumblelion · 22/10/2002 16:20

Count me in for the 1st November. I will definitely be there but only with a 1 yo in tow (she is one on this Thursday, can't believe where the year has gone) as the elder two will be back at school.

SoupDragon · 24/10/2002 08:57

Happy birthday Sasha!!

Bumblelion · 24/10/2002 09:39

Thank you Soupdragon for remembering my DD first birthday. Very thoughtful of you.

jodee · 24/10/2002 11:44

Happy birthday from me too, Sasha! Hope you had a lovely break, Bumblelion.

ScummyMummy · 24/10/2002 21:39

My word- is Sasha a whole year old already? Many happy returns to her. Hope you all had a good day.

Isn't it half term next week? Do you think that will mean that the Playbarn will be hideously busy ( ), or hideously empty ( ) (if all older kids are off school, then toddler siblings will be out with them & Mum?)

SoupDragon · 25/10/2002 19:34

It was half term in Croydon this week - the Playbarn was hideously busy!!

jodee · 25/10/2002 20:17

Went to Godstone Farm today - it was hideously wet and muddy!

Mo2 · 25/10/2002 21:45

Yuk - can just imagine Jodee - But I bet you spent loads of time on the big sack slide!! I used to look longingly at it when I was pregnant, and since arrival of ds2 you can't keep me off it (DS1 is more than capable of going down on his own, but then I wouldn't have an excuse if I let him.....!)

Dizzymummy · 30/10/2002 10:17

Hi, I can't come on friday afterall - I'm really sorry to miss this again (dh works away during the week but this week he is able to come home on Thurs night -yippee- and wants to spend as much time over the w/e with dd)

hope you have a great time

Bumblelion · 30/10/2002 10:41

Sorry, I cannot make Friday either - Sasha is having her MMR injection

(am I doing the right thing letting her have the triple injection instead of paying for single vacinations, but my HV who knows Sasha very well has said that she doesn't think she will have too much of a problem with it as my other two had it with no adverse effects - doesn't give me much encouragement to read the Mumsnet fact that 1000 parents are going to courts next year over the MMR vaccination!)

having her vaccination at 10:00 and then I have got an estate agent coming round to take exact measurements of my house as I have made the final decision to move.

I will be there next time though.
