Our beautiful leather clad lovelies have hung up their pauldrons, wrapped their thighs around their wenches horses and rode hard for the border. There'll be no more snogging in cupboards, or noshing on the Queen...s awful cooking. But we're not sad...oh no, we can keep this nonsense going ad infinitum, and there's plenty to look forward to as the Swaggerers stagger on in post muskie oblivion.

So keep the Cardinals finger flowing, and help yourself to the complementary Hot Chilean Nuts.

Now....S1 Ep1 anyone??

Back from dentist with teeth than need nothing done - hurrah.

Agree with LetUs - the books are a really good read - have left the second one downstairs so I can't be distracted by that, at least.

Didn't watch Poldark but feel the need to after Red's comments of twitter:
I rather wish #Poldark was more about Captain RP, Adventurer & Seducer™, and less about dramatic views of the backs of people's heads.

DS had NO homework for the holidays Shock

I have washing in the machine and I need to work. Madame do you start tomorrow? Good Luck!!!!!

MLGs · 05/09/2016 11:10

Homework for a 5 year old over the holidays does sound crazy.

Dd (7, nearly 8) didn't have any. Homework hasn't really been much of a thing yet at her school, usually just one or two bits a week which aren't obligatory anyway .

Think it's just about to start for real in year 3. But tbh we've only just reached a stage when she can take any sort of responsibility for it herself. Before now it would have been nothing but an extra job for me (side eyes TB who would be unlikely to stoop to such things, but claims to want 50:50)

Dd not back til Wednesday. She is a spending time with the new au pair today. Luckily I was able to come with them to take Ds to nursery, but they have gone over route to school by themselves. Ds so sad to go into nursery after two weeks off! He's normally pretty good about it, but two weeks is a long time, and he was only doing occasional days in the school hols.

Enough boring real life chat from me!

Where's Poldark then....? [Grin]

FancyFancy · 05/09/2016 11:40

Morning, lovely Santi pics in that link apricot thanks. But what was he thinking? Suede shoes on a rainy night? Grin

DS starting 6th form today , DD back tomorrow & had no homework over the holidays, which seems thoroughly sensible to me. Holiday homework for 5 year olds seems like a shit idea.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/09/2016 12:20

Fancy He was obviously thinking "I need a wench to come and sort me out " Wink

Badders123 · 05/09/2016 14:10

Ds1 (13) had nothing
Ds2 (7) had reading and spellings
It's year 9 and year 3 respectively for them so am assuming more work...?
The new granola bar at Costa is vile btw...save yourselves the bother
Just seeds and shit AngryShock
I'm knackered - have done my 10000 steps for today already so am now on sofa relaxing Grin

Badders123 · 05/09/2016 15:02

...and despite averaging 12000 steps a day and low carb since thurs I've actually put weight on
Cosmic AngrySad

LetUsPrey · 05/09/2016 15:04

I am sewing in name labels. DS2 is in his room having a tantrum about, well who the fuck knows. Whatever it is it'll be my fault.

Three more to do, then I'm having a brew and starting book three.

LetUsPrey · 05/09/2016 15:05

Does fat turn to muscle and at first you weigh more? I've probably made that up/got it completely wrong

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/09/2016 15:14

Fat does turn to muscle, but it takes a while.

I need to sew labels too, but scribbled on stuff in the interim... but his shoes are unnamed... Confused and his short has the name of the last occupant still

JaneElk · 05/09/2016 15:25

Fat doesn't turn to muscle. It's a physiologically different structure. Muscle can be bulked up, and fat cells depleted with exercise and diet, and as muscle weighs more than fat the net result is weight gain.

Essentially, forget the scales.

OP posts:
FancyFancy · 05/09/2016 15:47

What elk said. Muscle is denser than fat, so it's possible to build muscle & tone up & so look slimmer without losing weight.

Uneventful day so far, although I did have some excitable teens at midday, flush with the excitement of being allowed out at lunchtimes Grin Oh, and I rescued what was either a very large mouse, or a young rat from ScaredyCat - didn't get close enough to be sure, but my money's on rat

Hmm, it seems to have stopeed raining, so should probably put some washing on

Badders123 · 05/09/2016 15:49

I don't do labels.
I use a laundry sharpie 👍🏻

MadamedeChevreuse · 05/09/2016 16:07

I used a non laudry sharpie on ds's clothes labels. With the result that all his clothes are marked with a blurry illegible black blob. Confused

His first day back today. It seemed to go fine. I start work tomorrow - ty helen for good wishes wish I didnt have to go

comtesse if only it was roper chard!!!! I wish. I think there will be a lot more earnestness and vegan footwear, and a lot fewer no expenses-charged meals at swanky restaurants.

Had second session of acupuncture today. Feels grim while it's happening but seems to make me feel better afterwards so hey.

Also finished 2nd Strike book. I am NOT buying the third one now though. Forcing myself to wait a day week.

Wenches I am utterly ashamed and depressed at my total lack of advanced Santi Intel. And Angry Angry Angry at all those flippin women in the pix with him and tom. How did they know????

And Cillian? Seriously? I totally thought they'd go for something Spanish...

I guess I need to use Twitter more often, eh.

MadamedeChevreuse · 05/09/2016 16:09

morelike hmmm hope you feel ok about your TB going for 50:50. Is he definitely going for this? Flowers

FancyFancy · 05/09/2016 16:13

Best of luck for tomorrow madame and yay for DS going back to school ok. Keeping my fingers crossed re the acupuncture for you

Also surprised at the name of miniCabrera & was expecting a Spanish name too. But I guess MrsC isn't from a Spanish speaking country, so maybe they went for something neutral?

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/09/2016 16:15

Grin I know nooooothing #Manuel-not-Jon-Snow

Madame the Santi photos were a happy co-incidence - they're all Burketeers, afaik from Twitter. Some seem to have gone on multiple nights and waited at the stage door each time (according to their photos on twitter) Confused Shock Maybe they just live in London and stand outside the door every night, irrespective of whether they see the play or not. Grin

I have drunk too much red bull. Am bloated and burping Sad On the plus side, though, I am still awake and DH has retrieved DS from school so I could carry on MNing working.

Badders123 · 05/09/2016 16:15

Think I'm going to have to go hardcore to lose weight - which I was hoping to avoid :(
Good luck Madame X
Don't love the name tbh but I'm sure the baby is gorgeous :)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/09/2016 16:29

'Cillian' makes me think of Trillian in HHGTTG Grin

MadamedeChevreuse · 05/09/2016 16:44

Was thinking they'd do the classic "neutral name that works in many languages" eg daniel.

Still, that is quite dull, so at least Cillian is more unusual. Wonder if they have an irish connection? Cillian Murphy is quite hot. Cillian Cabrera also alliterates. cormoran cabrera would have been cooler

Badders123 · 05/09/2016 17:00

I was hoping for Thomas :)
Thought it might be Oliver
Not keen on alliterative names much.
Ugh. I've just eaten Nutella from the jar.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/09/2016 17:10

Badders do you want us to:

  1. hurl abuse at you every time you do something that doesn't help weight loss
  2. make sympathetic noises
  3. ignore you?
Badders123 · 05/09/2016 17:11

Number 1 please!

MLGs · 05/09/2016 17:23

I don't do labels either.

Agree Cillian is silly (cilli?) name. May be they thought it sounded like Chilean and lacked imagination. I thought we were being told Santos at one point? Equally unimaginative but still....

Agree with fancy re shoes.

Don't know if TB is in a seriousness going to 50:50. He keeps saying it but he knows he can't physically manage (or logistically) as he doesn't get back from work on time or he lacks the organisational skills to make that work. He knows he's not getting extra weekend quality time to make up for shitty rush home from work time because I've told him. Essentially I think he's stalling because he likes the current situation just fine.

MadamedeChevreuse · 05/09/2016 17:26

Nutella in the jar-oh

I may have to rename Patty "Chugnut" cos for the past two days he's been walking around with litter-encrusted shit hanging off his arse. Eeeeewwwwww and eeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwww. He doesn't stay still long enough, ie he runs away very fast, before I can get a chance to clean him. That's my excuse anyway

He smells and dp is going to be totally Hmm Cat wenches, help please? Why is this happening? He was fine before...

Badders123 · 05/09/2016 17:28
