Do you need to fondle crystals

or it is enough to just be obsessive about good nutrition?

is there a particular dress code?

is it inconsistant with a reasonable appreciation of science?

thoughts please

PMSL at your Beltane ceremony with panto horses filthyMV. I've just realised you're the poster formerly known as FMF then yes?

I once took my MIL to an afternoon eco community party in a housing estate in Kennington. There was a bearded man skipping around with a dustpan and brush and sweeping the floor at our feet (outdoors).
There was a room for people who wanted to read out their own, always very lengthy, poetry.
There was rooibosh and chai, hash brownies and spirulina cakes, group meditations and lectures on menstuation. (snigger).

I knew it was a mistake to bring MIL - a plain speaking, catholic scouser with a prejudice against second hand shops and gays. She stood around staring then finally managed to say, 'Well, I s'pose if nothing else it's good that there's a place for these poor, vulnerable people to go.'

Yes. There's such a thing as too much goddess energy after all.

Although I'm partial to a little samba.

Tatties · 28/01/2007 16:55

I get 235. I reckon there should be an extra 10 or so for using Soapnuts though.

Blandmum · 28/01/2007 16:57

Name Spidermama

Report

Spidermama is a pleasent student who is quite enthusiastic about embrasing the Mother Goddess. While I feel that her heart is in the right place, she has a tendency to be silly in lessons and to disrupt the aura of the other students. When I pointed this out, she threatened to re-align my Chachras. Unless she refocuses her 'Inner Energy' with some serious crystal work, I don't think she will ever pass her Therapeutic Drumming GCSE.

Must try harder!

Am so glad this thread is still going, haven't been able to get on the pc since yesterday.

pmsl at these stories!

filthymindedvixen · 28/01/2007 17:07

LMAO (in a gentle, non-judgemental Lentil-weavery way, of course)
You're on form today gentle women...

Spidermama · 28/01/2007 17:10

LOL MartianB.
Will attempt re-entry into the sacred ring piece and quell the persistent realist within.

lunavix · 28/01/2007 21:43

TooTicky - thanks to you I'm now gutted! And I think this shows the lentil-weaver in me...

I've just been nosing at The Spark and I wish there was something - anything - like any of it near me. I'm in the South East, and the most we have on is local amateur theatrics. Occassionally.

Spidermama · 28/01/2007 23:38

Luna you need to head down to Brighton. You're holistic drumming needs will be more than adequately met.

Cloudhopper · 29/01/2007 10:20

If anyone hasn't read the Buddha of Suburbia then you must!

I am convinced that with the decline of religion we are seeking meaningful rituals and means of controlling what we eat/how we behave.

Well I know I am anyway. I am completely atheist and find myself dreaming of naming ceremonies on BOdmin Moor.

TooTicky · 29/01/2007 13:52

Hey, Lunavix, it's not bad - just a little...um...extreme in places
(Some of the family camps do sound great, just rather expensive)

Spidermama · 29/01/2007 18:57

I still get the emails from one very full on group in London. The latest one, received today, invites me (you too if you're interested) to a Full Moon Ecstatic Dance For Women- 5 Rhythms Dance.

There is also a Healing With Dance Workshop Part II. This is called Wisdom of Wombs.

I wonder how that goes. Do you reckon it'll be cool and funky?

Me neither.

harpsichordcarrier · 29/01/2007 19:01

tell me this
then tell me no more:
where can one buy woad

filthymindedvixen · 29/01/2007 20:07

right here!

woadn't it be nice!

filthymindedvixen · 29/01/2007 20:13

course, a proper lentil weaver would make her own...but she'd probably be very lonely - woad reeks while it's ferementing or whatever you call it

Spidermama · 29/01/2007 20:32

Thanks for the link. I'm worryingly drawn to woad. Spiritual cultural stirrings from within no doubt. Down stirrings, down! I'll none of you, d'you hear?

harpsichordcarrier · 30/01/2007 00:28

me too spidermama
seriously

filthymindedvixen · 30/01/2007 20:06

me too.....I want to dye things

TooTicky · 30/01/2007 20:13

Oh mighty, mystical blueness, cover me from head to toe, from soul to spirit, and let me revel in your prussian beauty.....
