Do you need to fondle crystals

or it is enough to just be obsessive about good nutrition?

is there a particular dress code?

is it inconsistant with a reasonable appreciation of science?

thoughts please

But doesn't a bag of potatoes last a damned sight longer than a box of waffles? Do people really buy potato waffles because they're cheap, or because they really can't be arsed to boil and mash a potato?

lissielou · 27/01/2007 18:28

bit of both i suppose. if people are living week to week or even day to day can they afford the extra 60p that will buy a carton of milk? add to that all the other veggies.... and you can save a lot of money by feeding your kids "crap". organic veggies are even more pricey than normal ones too. dhs family used to own a fruit and veg stall in the bullring birmingham and theyve had to sell up coz they cant compete with the big chains and 1 reason for that is people like the convienience , rambling a bit now. am i making sense?

lulumama · 27/01/2007 18:29

sorry ,sorky...didn;t want to make anyone feel ill. x

lulumama · 27/01/2007 18:30

1/2 price organic carrots , potatos, onions and bananas in lidl !

i am now concerned i have slightly weaverish tendencies, deep deep down

(also have rooibosh tea.........)

Blandmum · 27/01/2007 18:33

I think the Waffle vs real spud issue is more to do with the crap teaching of domestic science we inflict on our kids nowerdays.

Kids grow up with parents who can't cook, and we limit their education in school to makeing f-ing pizza toppings (my cousin is a cookery teacher and it drives hell into her!)

lulumama · 27/01/2007 18:34

so what is the opposite of a lentil weaver?

a nugget muncher?

lissielou · 27/01/2007 18:36

lol, a twizzler tie-er

sorkycake · 27/01/2007 18:36

Own fault fillyjonk quadratic equations indeed
Go on then do your worst with the questions, I reckon I'll get about 75%.

lulumama · 27/01/2007 18:37

oooh yes !!

LOL !

filthymindedvixen · 27/01/2007 18:38

oh my sainted aunts! Six days of carrying a placenta around with the newborn???

chin hits floor.

lissielou · 27/01/2007 18:39

tbh all of these things can be taken into consideration, but you can buy a ready meal at 5 for £3, thats 5 days worth of meals. while the cooking issue is a valid point there are so many people living on the breadline, personal debt is at an all time high, and a huge amount of kids eat crap coz their parents cant afford to feed them proper food.

lulumama · 27/01/2007 18:39

look..it was just something interesting i came across on my doula course....!! not advocating it neccesarily..just an alternative view point ! ! !

Am marvelling over menstrual stock - a madly evocative term.
I am currently planning my lentil loom, which will be built entirely of recycled materials.

Heathcliffscathy · 27/01/2007 18:44

lentil weaving crimes:

placenta is in freezer awaiting suitable huge pot with tree in it which will be presented to ds when he leaves home.

stump of umbilical cord in ds's room next to a buddha statue.

have been known to make own bread. try to have organic fruit and veg and always have organic meat and milk.

cook from scratch vast majority of the time.

attended hypnobirthing course.

strong interest in astrology, feng shui, symbolism and wicca

things that rule me out include:

not having quiche slippers

not knitting my own clothes out of armpit hair

wearing make up when i go out and dressing like a sexy secretary on occassion.

a nespresso machine (may i be forgiven for my unethical whoredom)

and loads of other things....

on balance i think i'm pretty lentil weaving, but definitely not quiche knitter.

Blandmum · 27/01/2007 18:45

10, but that is just bevause I have to buy tasteless herbal tea for my MIL

I'm so none lentil weaver. Although I do enjoy eating them in a good curry!

Heathcliffscathy · 27/01/2007 18:46

cripes scored 100, definitely lentil weaver.

although it strikes me that lentil weavers in the main don't swear and argue hard...which i do. like a trooper and an argumentative thing.

lulumama · 27/01/2007 18:46

can;t have a mooncup as my periods have stoppped ! but i was about to order one from franny ( i miss gentle lovely franny......) so can i have 5 points ?

Heathcliffscathy · 27/01/2007 18:46

i did try mooncup but something nasty happened...might need to start a thread about it actually.

moondog · 27/01/2007 18:47
