and do you regret it?

No.

Fact: hormones can bring on temporary madness.

I should know.

colditz · 17/12/2006 00:20

Dylan for ds2. Settled for Daniel instead.

I do regret it, but everyone would have thought of that damn rabbit, and that wasn't what I wanted. I wanted him to be named after Dylan Thomas.

Ceolas · 17/12/2006 00:25

Loads that I liked and DH hated. But I don't regret giving them the names they have

jampots · 17/12/2006 01:29

Sebastian - loved it at the time but think it would be a little pretentious now.

Still regret not calling ds Theo though

JennyLeevesmilkandcookiesforSa · 17/12/2006 01:37

dh wanted to call ds Harvey but now it might have been okay as every child in Scotland seems to be called Lewis or I wish I had spelled it Luis wwooh

Chandra · 17/12/2006 01:45

Andrea/Andreas for DS, but I would have made his life a misery unless we moved to Italy, which was not going to happen. And as my GF was called Andres there are already about 64 andrews of one sort of another in my family

VPL · 17/12/2006 01:48

I wanted Jordy when I was pregnant with DS but knew I wouldn't actually call him that. Still think it's cute tho.

JennyLeevesmilkandcookiesforSa · 17/12/2006 01:49

is definately cute

Chandra · 17/12/2006 01:53

Jordi is George in Catalan. Which reminds me of Andreu, another one I liked but binned because of the dense population of Andr_ (fill the blank) in my family.

JennyLeevesmilkandcookiesforSa · 17/12/2006 01:57

I also like xavier but dh won't have it and llorena for a girl but these name seem to make all my relatives retch, (or maybe it is too many after eights and lard)

suzycreamcheese · 17/12/2006 02:23

zebedee - dp's idea, sort of like it now..i liked freddie (not fred) but no from him and lots of others..he really suits name he has now though

MKGnearlyimmaculateconception · 17/12/2006 02:47

JennyLeevesmilkandcookiesforSa · 17/12/2006 02:51

jabberwocky · 17/12/2006 03:42

Elvis!

AllBuggiedOut · 17/12/2006 06:53

I love the name Newton, but was worried it was too silly (and a bit pretentious with our surname sadly).

QuootiepiesChristmasName · 17/12/2006 06:56

Trinity, Lavinia, Rupert, Roman, Malacky, DH liked Montgomery(Monty) there's more but I can't think off the top of my head...

QuootiepiesChristmasName · 17/12/2006 06:56

quite like joy, also

all of them vetoed for some curious reason

and felix-ds was nearly felix but...didn't look like one, somehow. we later found out he was born on st felix's day...

foxtrottothefestivegrotto · 17/12/2006 08:52

Cormac but it only really sounds nice in an irish accent, ditto several other gaelic names.
Xavier but couldn't justify it,as no french/spanish family links.
Lexie - although we went for something equally lovely chosen by DH ,this is the one i should've put my foot down on i think.

mousiemousie · 17/12/2006 09:12

Dexter

Giselle

Gigi

All a bit foreign for an anglosaxon kid

Evangeline

Demelza

No regrets as dd's name suits her personality

TheBlonde · 17/12/2006 09:13

Rasmus - don't regret not using it, might use it for no2 though

NbgSparklyYellowFeathers · 17/12/2006 09:15

Jabberwocky, my Ds is called Ellis but FIL calls him Elvis

I really liked Kiki and Lola, fun short names for dd but settled with Madison.
For Ds I loved Dexter, Reuben, Miles, Milo. The list is endless but dh disliked them all.

NotQuiteCockney · 17/12/2006 09:24

I would have loved to all a son of mine St John or Tristan, but unfortunately those names are apparently "too posh to live" names in this country. (In Canada they're just weird.) Oh, or Olaf, Lars or Linus, but I blew that one by giving DS1 a Nordicy name, and apparently "themed" names are naff.

I still wish I'd managed to call DS2 Olaf. I think it would have suited him. Although I am happy with his actual name.
