What names would you have loved to have given your dds or dd but didn't have the guts to?

My dh wanted Vladimir for a boy (fortunately we have two girls)

And Pixie for dd2! It would have suited her, she's very skinny with big eyes.

DS2 was very nearly Rufus or Finbar but I was persuaded otherwise. Used Rufus as a second name but it would have suited him very well indeed.

Themesd names NQC - i heard a joke (i hope it was) about a family who name their kids William, Benjamin and Daisy...

..or Bill, Ben and Little Weed as noted by a godfather at the daughter's christening.

I wanted DD to be Merrily or Morley (or both), still love them but DH finally settled on one name from my shortlist so we went for that and it's just as nice. (Lyra)
I wanted DS to be Honey if he was a girl, doubt I would have been allowed that either.

because no-one could say or spell it!!!

Not about the children but when we got married our friends were very keen for us to double-barrel our surnames, so I would have been Mrs Starr Laws

... then perhaps we should called ds1 Luke?!

I really wanted dh to change his name before we got married to an amalgamation of both or our surnames - Blades. 6yrs and 2 kids later he now thinks it would be cool but I think the moment has passed. We have named our new house The Blades though .

Serenity for a girl... DH was very against. Had a boy anyway so not an issue

Also wanted Harrison, but it wasn't a problem when he was born, he really wasn't a Harrison.

Desperately wanted DD to be Jennifer but DH hated it - I still look at her and see her as a Jennifer now

Before I was pg with ds, I dreamt I had a girl and called her Melody. It's not on our list for a hypothetical dd, but I still love the name.
