Yet another thread of musketeer perving commences. (Plus random laundry lists and general blether)
Pull up a bar stool and get yourself a drink

Oh baddz that's crap! Do it in bits and have a rest in between.

morelikeguidelines · 21/07/2015 12:15

I don't know much about the Gold Standard I'm afraid but I do love fluffy kittens.

BloodyElkFire · 21/07/2015 12:17

Babyelk has developed a fondness for beetroot. It's making for some very interesting nappies.

FancyFancy · 21/07/2015 12:28

I am back. Shopped like a fucking ninja. Three pairs of trousers purchased - three Shock. And a bonus shirt. Only one shop visited, so no blood was spilt. Even managed a mum/son chat on the bus on the way home.

Baddz · 21/07/2015 12:47

Well, I'm stopping.
I've given myself a bloody steam burn on my finger so fuck that.
Done everything except 4 of Dhs shirts.
3 loads of washing done.
Good work on the shopping! Excellent.

FancyFancy · 21/07/2015 12:50

The clothes shopping is a nightmare isn't it badders? DS is now pretty much out of boys clothing because of his height, but the men's clothing is too wide for him

. It depresses me that so many don't value state support because they don't need it now, and that along with that Thatcherite idea taxpayers are constantly encouraged to feel 'taken advantage of' by scroungers and immigrants etc. If the right wing and their press have encouraged individualism for decades why on earth do you think the public are going to embrace your Big Society idea ShinyDave? Oh yeah, they didn't. You reap what you sow fuckwit.

FancyFancy · 21/07/2015 12:52

Sounds like you've earned a break badders

Bless you and your pretty little head morelike Grin

And thank you for giving me an excuse to post

Baddz · 21/07/2015 12:54

The scary thing is how many people really believe there is this whole huge safety net to protect them if the shit hits the fan...my Tory voting pils are like this.
They have NO idea of the reality. They have been very very fortunate, no illnesses, no disability, no money worries...I think they will have a harsh lesson to learn at some point :(

Baddz · 21/07/2015 12:55

Wow. My finger is quite swollen.
Ffs.

MrsEvadneCake · 21/07/2015 12:55

Kittens for more

I don't miss nappies. Not at all!

Good shopping fancy

MadamedeChevreuse · 21/07/2015 12:56

The thing is, if labour isnt careful, no bugger is going to vote for them again. Neither the affluent / aspirant types for whom they are pretending to be basically the tory party in order to get their votes. Which wont work, as these people arent stupid.

Nor the people who usually vote for them, because they are sick of them acting like the tories, or now prefer to vote ukip.

Anyone in england who earns under 20 grand and doesnt vote labour is suffering from false consciousness. Sorry to be patronising and all, but there it is. Its just common fucking sense. If we had a balanced media in this country maybe there would be some hope, but we dont, so there isnt.

Did anyone see mhairi blacks maiden speech? It was fucking ace.

To quote her quoting tony benn, we really need some signpost politicians in this country. No more weathercocks!!!

Enormouse · 21/07/2015 12:57

The world is a depressing place at the moment. Bloody tories.

Baddz · 21/07/2015 12:58

It was epic!
I would vote for her if I could!
She represents people like me...old school labour voters. People who want to see real social justice and fairness.

Blush sorry wenches.

I am a very opinionated woman. And very vocal. And a bit poncey at times.

I do have an opinion on the gold standard from being a capitalist pig in a former life, but I'll spare you it.

You'll wear yourself out Badders. Stick it on a hanger when it comes out the machine and they can just look a bit crumpled.

We have just blitzed the DC's bedrooms. Can see the floor and everything. It'll never last. Might take a photo as proof.

LetUsPrey · 21/07/2015 13:02

Back from shopping.

Bought two items of uniform - £42.

I'm leaving trousers towards the end of the holidays because he'll have grown out of them if I get them now.

And the bickering and poking each other - you wouldn't think one of them was 13.

Where are the Musketeers? Oh look, I've got you

Enormouse · 21/07/2015 13:04

No need to apologise MrsB. I agree with you.

MrsEvadneCake · 21/07/2015 13:05

Athos as grumpy cat

castiel-the-burger-king.tumblr.com/post/107096399839/the-musketeers-bbc-athos-grumpy-cat-no#=

Politically I totally agree. The gap is widening and the press is useless. I think more needs to be taught to children about politics so they can better judge for themselves and have an understanding of the system.

Baddz · 21/07/2015 13:06

I might go back to bed....

MrsEvadneCake · 21/07/2015 13:07

Can I come too baddz my arm is sore. I'll bring chocolates.

FancyFancy · 21/07/2015 13:07

So agree re needing a balanced media madame. So much is owned by non-dom billionaires, whose vested interests are rarely highlighted Angry

IssyStark · 21/07/2015 13:13

Chaise excellent news about Ripper Street (was just pondering in the staff room yesterday as to when it would be shown). sparks it is the same series (that how it got financed after the BBC pulled out) but has been cut to a standard time as the Amazon run varied as much as 5 minutes in episode lengths.

As to Labour, I'm still torn about who to vote for in the leadership election (I joined the party on Friday 8th May). It was going to be Corbyn but do not want Labour to spend the time infighting but had hoped that Burnham would show some balls and rebel last night but he caved in the end.

Enormouse · 21/07/2015 13:53

I joined alliance just after the general election. I was so disillusioned with NI politics and the wrangling of the uup and dup . And the ousting of Naomi long.

morelikeguidelines · 21/07/2015 13:57

Thanks for the kitten pics!

Although I do love fluffy kittens (and especially fancy's picture) that was a quote from Harry Enfield.

I agree with you all re tories as per my post on previous page re dickensian nature of it all.
