Yet another thread of musketeer perving commences. (Plus random laundry lists and general blether)
Pull up a bar stool and get yourself a drink

I want THAT Aramis back!

V excited about Ripper Street. It had better not be a repeat of the series that's been on Amazon.

Baddz · 21/07/2015 08:20

Madame....My thoughts exactly.

FolknNorah · 21/07/2015 08:21

I'm clearly really thick. But I'm not sure I get it. (madame's link) Harman wanted them to not vote (abstain) but some of them ignored her and voted against a Tory thingy? Which if you're normal and decent is a good thing?
Or did I read that wrong?

I've done my exercises and had a shower...still no kids. Arf at chaise having 4 kids...
Have fun!

I tried ripper street, never got into it. Should I try again or what?

Baddz · 21/07/2015 08:25

Basically 3 out of the 4 Labour leadership contenders have voted for the welfare cuts
It's a disgrace

MadamedeChevreuse · 21/07/2015 08:25

Er yep, youve got it in a nutshell norah.

Hence my "oh my actual god harriet harman", and despair with the pathetic labour party that still thinks it has to emulate the tories to be electable, despite just spectacularly losing the last election after following this strategy.

MrsEvadneCake · 21/07/2015 08:39

Ta da! I need a HBF to soothe my bruises! My leg matches it!

Morning. Thank you wenches for your love and prat fall stories. Made me feel much better about being catastrophically clumsy.

chaise I fell at 7am yesterday, went into work and stripped and backed boards and tidied. The other TAs put the peas on from the school kitchen and kept an eye on me. I feel very sore today so I'm doing nothing. First official holiday day so I'm going to drink tea and make lists.

MrsEvadneCake · 21/07/2015 08:40

I agree about the Labour Party. Good to see some of them are still thinking.

FolknNorah · 21/07/2015 08:49

Ooo that looks sore eva be more careful in the future eh?

Soz wenches, brain isn't working today, it's like there's a fog in it or something.

Ooh, a child is up. Yay....

MrsEvadneCake · 21/07/2015 08:50

I will Norah Hope you've enjoyed your peace.

Enormouse · 21/07/2015 09:05

I'll read the Labour thing when I'm a bit more awake.

norah have you watched peaky blinders?

LetUsPrey · 21/07/2015 09:21

FancyFancy · 21/07/2015 09:34

Morning everyone. I'm taking DS shopping today as he seems to lack trousers. Well he has trousers, they're just half way up his legs. I will be pleased when he stops growing and fills out a little.

Thanks for the heads up re Ripper Street chaise. I think it is the same series sparks, it was released on Amazon early. I heard rumours that some scenes were not available on the BBC screening, just to punish us cheapskates who refused to pay to watch Grin

Ouch, minty, tea & lists sounds like a good plan. Can I also prescribe a little TM?

Enormouse · 21/07/2015 09:42

Anyone finding mumsnet quite difficult to use right now?

Keeps crashing.

LetUsPrey · 21/07/2015 09:49

It brought up an error for me first thing Mouse and has been a bit iffy occasionally for a few days.

I really should make a list and get a move on.

Enormouse · 21/07/2015 10:02

It keeps making my browser crash.

MiladyBeaWinter · 21/07/2015 10:04

Morning. Ouch re your leg Eva, that looks sore.

My best pratfall was just a few months ago. Was in a forestry commission play park with a friends and our DC and they had one of those swivel logs that you could edge across. She bet me I couldn't make it across after she hadn't managed it and I'd laughed So all confident I ran at it and it was like one of those cartoon slo mo shots. Feet out from under me, up in the air and flat on my back in the leaf mulch. The whole (bloody big) play park turned and looked / laughed Blush.

MiladyBeaWinter · 21/07/2015 10:07

Jeremy Corbyn was interviewed on C4 News last night. Not really seen him talk much before but he came across very well and handled the odious Krishnan brilliantly. Rumours he may do well in leadership contest. Hope so. Can't help but think Labour are alienating their supporters whilst at the same time imploding very publicly.

BloodyElkFire · 21/07/2015 10:09

Ouchy Eva I'm not sure which bit of you I'm looking at there, but it looks painful.

Not entirely surprised re. your link Madame labour have been more right wing than the Tories for years. I blame Blair, the evil bastard. And Tony Benn for dying.

It still beggars belief that so many people in this country wanted the system we have now. Why?? why would you vote to have everything of value to the public taken away and shat on? I don't geddit

Baddz · 21/07/2015 10:12

Fancy...I feel your pain! Ds1 has outgrown all his age 12 jeans and joggers.
Sigh. He was only 12 a month ago!
So I've ordered him some new age 13 ones. Generous fit :)
Am just trying to be organised and sorting holdiay stuff out, going through the boys stuff and sorting the things that are too small...got a bag for the Salvation Army now :)
Have opened all the new uniform and am washing it all. Have sorted new pe kits.
Sorted through the coats too...why Do they have so many coats!?
Just need to get it dry and iron it all now :(
Dh taking boys for a bike ride and then they are going to pils this afternoon.
Still feel like crap but sitting around all day isn't helping so I might as well crack on!
Laters x

MiladyBeaWinter · 21/07/2015 10:50

It's the politics of greed and envy Elk. Being very simplistic, the Tories spend their time saying "don't worry they won't get more than you, or any of your money, and we'll help you make more" (greed) and Labour at last election were primarily "oh look, they have more than you, let's get them" (envy/petulant).

Where is the party that talks about the importance of education, of a fair and equitable society, about doing the right fucking thing rather than what the Daily Mail suggests? Why can't it be ok to be a successful company or individual AND be expected / want to help society? Why was social care not on the agenda at the election? I'd happily pay more tax for a better country. Bollocks to austerity, I want a party that will celebrate social justice and make people want to help and be involved, not fear that they will lose stuff or be penalised. When did we stop wanting to help others and keep improving?

..... Sorry. But they just all get right on my tits.

MrsEvadneCake · 21/07/2015 10:52

Fancy and baddz I feel your pain. DS has silly long legs and is out growing things at a rapid rate of knots. baddz you're being very productive!

So my quiet morning is going well so far... I've dropped big DS at summer school and taken little DS to the park Hmm. I'm home now and finally having a Brew

elk it makes me wonder too, why people would think this is better for anyone?

Right list time < gets out pen and looks serious>

FolknNorah · 21/07/2015 11:23

Ooooh bea
Agreed of course.

morelikeguidelines · 21/07/2015 11:37

Completely agree with you madame and everyone who has subsequently agreed with madame.

The tory policies actually read like the beginning of Oliver Twist when Dickens is ironically describing Victorian policy makers as philosophers.

I want to like Jeremy Corbyn. He used to be my mp when I was a north londoner, and I really liked him them. During the leadership campaign I have read some quite disturbing things he is meant to have said about hamas (is that spelt right?) but you never know if he has been misquoted.

Baddz · 21/07/2015 11:45

Trouble is Dh then gets all twatty about having to buy him new things.
Ffs.
I'll just bind his bloody feet shall I?
Am currently in ironing hell....the woman never rang me back so I'm doing it myself.
Grr.
There's soooo much

BloodyElkFire · 21/07/2015 11:52

Very well put Bea

Now, what do you make of the Gold Standard?
