Yet another thread of musketeer perving commences. (Plus random laundry lists and general blether)
Pull up a bar stool and get yourself a drink

MAJOR RANT ALERT

Didn't sleep a bloody wink last night due to a) sharing a room with a hyperactive even in her sleep babyelk and b) the dogs howling and chewing my favourite shoes to bits. Then there's no food in the house so I had to go shopping. Babyelk falls asleep later than normal so we miss the beginning of visiting, the ward phone either rings out or cuts off as its answeres, I finally hear 3rd hand that mum is being moved to a community hospital 25 miles in the opposite direction to home, but they don't know when, but mum wants a bag of stuff so I schlep up to the hospital, queue for ages for the car park, wake babyelk, strap her in pushchair, troik 8 miles across the hospital to arrive at the same time as the ambulance crew. Mum throws a tantrum when I don't look thrilled to do it all in reverse and include a 50 mile round trip to my 100 mile journey home so I relent, but have got to the car park to discover I have lost my frcking purse and can't actually leave the car park. DSis is walking from work now, I'll have to run her back, drive to mums, find my purse THEN drive to this other hospital in the sticks, somehow locating a microwave to heat babyelk's tea and timing it so she sleeps on the way home. Then I'm coming back again on Thursday, but with two children.

FORFUCKSSAKE AAAAAARRGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

BloodyElkFire · 20/07/2015 17:39

Someone find me an HBF pleeeeeeaase!

Baddz · 20/07/2015 17:52

OMG elk.
You poor love.
I'm so sorry...can your Dh not have a day off so you don't have to take the kids?

:(

ApricotCrush · 20/07/2015 17:53

Oh shit Elk, you poor thing, that sounds horrendous. What can I say, here have this.

BloodyElkFire · 20/07/2015 18:04

apes that's perfect.....how did you know Grin
Mrelk already took today off, and the trip later in the week was so the small elks could visit cousins, so I probably shouldn't leave them behind! On the move again now, but right into rush hour traffic and babyelk is getting stroppy.

Baddz · 20/07/2015 18:07

I see.
God, what a nightmare.
Nice gif though :)

BloodyElkFire · 20/07/2015 18:24

I'd go so far as to say it was my favourite. It possibly out ranks gallopy gallopy pelvic thrusty in the elky gif hall of fame

Baddz · 20/07/2015 18:25

Oooohhhh......me likey :)

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 20/07/2015 18:29

Hello wenches!!!!

BloodyElkFire · 20/07/2015 18:29

Can't bloody wait to get home. Mum likes to leave all her most poisonous bottles of stuff in the most baby accessible cupboard, and also scatters pills about the floor randomly so that babyelk can Hoover them up

BloodyElkFire · 20/07/2015 18:30

She's got FOUR bottles of vanish spray under the sink. FOUR! she doesn't even do any bloody cleaning!

MrsEvadneCake · 20/07/2015 18:33

Evening.

elk what a day Sad I hope you get some rest later.

baddz do you want to meet up? DS12 could get to know my DS11 and they could mood together.

I am a wounded wench. I slipped in the shower and I'm very bashed. Face luckily just slid down wet surface in a cartoon type way but my arms and legs are going an attractive purple. I'm putting frozen pizza in for tea and I'm then resigning for the day.

BloodyElkFire · 20/07/2015 18:34

Ok, I'll stop ranting now Blush

Baddz · 20/07/2015 18:35

Elk...my friend hoarders cleaning products. She bought 15 cans of fly spray last time I went shopping with her!
I don't ask anymore....
I do hoard loo rolls. I will admit to that :)
It wouldn't surprise me if I get a call from mum telling me she hasn't got enough meds til she gets back....she did that last year. Not sure what she expects me to do tbh....
She phoned me this morning at 8.30 Hmm and said she was too hot.
She has gone to Majorca in July.

Baddz · 20/07/2015 18:36

Jesus, Eva, are you ok!?
I did that last year and cut my head in our shower screen so we now have a shower curtain!
Would love to meet up :)

BloodyElkFire · 20/07/2015 18:38

Maybe just one more....the reason she fell this time was because she was using a totally unsuitable walking that she'd bought, that I told her was totally unsuitable and shouldn't buy. But what do I bloody know?
RARGGHHHHHHH!

Ok, I feel better now. Definitely no more ranting here Hmm

LetUsPrey · 20/07/2015 18:48

I can throw in a moody 13 year old DS1.

Elk - hard work doesn't cover what you've been through today.

And Eva - paracetamol and bed young lady.

Here's hooded Athos

Baddz · 20/07/2015 18:51

Ah yes.
The unsuitable purchases.
I could write a fucking book on those.

Enormouse · 20/07/2015 19:18

Cake and Brew for those with awkward preteens, difficult parents and health troubles.

I feel awful post yet another village event and have spent most of today asleep.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 20/07/2015 19:21

and valium to all wenches in need. My DM now has a lovely combination of shingles and lymes disease Shock Methinks she will be missing the family funeral later this week.

And DS has just had a right winge at the idea that he has to get ready for bed BEFORE he can watch TV (because DH said he could watch an hour long episode which takes us well past bedtime...)

DH is cooking tea (because he's wonderful), I am wenching sorting out teacher end-of-year gift upstairs.

MrsEvadneCake · 20/07/2015 19:23

I'll be ok thank you all. I've got some lovely bruises starting. I just stepped and woosh...bang! I've had paracetamol and a bag of peas on my dignity.

My mom makes piles of things around the house and buys things to redecorate. Except she doesn't. Hasn't for 14 years. She just got stuck when dad died and we can't get her going. We have a tricky relationship and I try. No animosity. Just doesn't understand me.

Baddz · 20/07/2015 19:26

I am the eldest female child of an Irish Catholic mother.
I will leave you to try and imagine what my childhood was like!
Since dad died its gotten very hard....now both my siblings are working I am the only one she sees regularly.
And it's making me miserable :(
I need a job!

MrsEvadneCake · 20/07/2015 19:35

baddz that is hard. My two brothers only see her if they feel like it. So we have company every Easter/Christmas/other reason for lunch. Plus she came on holiday for a while. It makes me miserable too.
This year it's not happening and I'm relieved.

Baddz · 20/07/2015 19:38

Yeah.
After last year I told Dh never again!
and my bro can do no wrong of course golden boy
Meh.

FolknNorah · 20/07/2015 20:06

Oh my poor wenchies. Come and snuggle and I will stroke your hair and soothe you.

You know what? Since my stepdad forbade me any contact with him or my mum, life has been sooooo much easier. My dad doesn't give a shit which was shit as a child/teen but now I'm older I appreciate it Grin
