Afternoon! i am having such a shit day, but I have managed not to scream, so I suppose that's a plus Grin

Elk I said Tom was a good actor but that doesn't mean I would boff him even if he were the last man on earth Grin I appreciate him in the same way that most of you appreciate PC - acting ability and character Grin

I'm going to post this delicious pic here of PC showing a tantalising bit of flesh just before his wife pulled his t shirt back down - she was being kind to the swooning fangirls I think!

That goodgym sounds really good.

Nowhere near me either.

Baddz · 22/06/2015 14:11

Marc warren is getting a pasting on the strange and norell thread!
They are not Impressed with his acting ability!

I have;
Put one load of Washing on
Put one load in the dryer
Had a nap
Blush
So am now watching Netflix again.
Jeez....what a waste of a day! I hope tomorrow's sunshine perks me up a bit.

I'm with the critics on that one, baddz. Marc Warren is offensive in Mr Norrell.

Lovely, I fired out an email to pre-school manager and now I'm afraid to check the response. GrinBlush

Baddz · 22/06/2015 14:37

Shit....school run!
Drink..I feel oddly vindicated about my loathing for him in TM. I knew he was shit!

All 5 sections of Cyrano are in the Sound Booth for your listening delectation after Radio4 takes them off ListenAgain/you don't have wifi.

MadamedeChevreuse · 22/06/2015 15:23

Theres a norell and strange thread?!

FancyFancy · 22/06/2015 15:38

Well I wished I'd popped my head in here earlier, wouldn't have felt quite so guilty about getting less stuff done than planned. Seems like no-one's very motivated today. I have at least changed all the beds, & done some washing & ironing.

Interesting that MW isn't popular in Norell & Strange - I haven't started watching yet, but caught a minute of it yesterday in which MW was being all creepy & thought 'so was his playing of Rochefort just a rehersal for this'? I've never been very keen on him & doubt I'll ever forgive him for the pervy nipple rubbing in s2.

BloodyElkFire · 22/06/2015 15:56

Nice one Cinnamon, thank you so much.

What channel is Norrell and Strange on? I've read the book, but wasn't a huge fan, I got a bit bored with it, maybe I'll prefer programme

chaiselounger · 22/06/2015 16:04

Ouch Elk, now you've got 2 poorly digits.

Oh Anne, a sicky? This is very telling I fear. Let's hope you get another job soon.

I love my job. The accountant came today and told my boss the accounts I presented were 'good' . All the staff said that this was a huge compliment from a man who never gives them.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 22/06/2015 16:06

I have given up on Strange & Norrell. Too slow. Plus it clashed with Love Island

In Twitter news, Luca has now confirmed Comic Con. I am still undecided if I want Santi to confirm or not because then I have to make the decision

chaiselounger · 22/06/2015 16:07

But, I am very good at my job, and can do it with my eyes closed. But that is because I deliberately chose a non taxing job.
Re the eyes closed, and thanks for the kind insomniac comments, it is actually a good job too, because I did actually close my eyes for a few seconds today, mid typing a payroll adjustment journal (scintillating, I assure you!!)

MadamedeChevreuse · 22/06/2015 16:08

Think its on bbc1 elk - it's on iplayer anyway.

A few wenches started watching it and I think the general view after a couple of eps was that we weren't that into it. I gave up after about ep 4 but I think letus (?) was persevering.

Yy fancy mw is definitely doing another rochefort in it. Only with a stupid wig and very pale makeup.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 22/06/2015 16:22

I'm still watching Strange & Norrell, and enjoying it, but then I enjoyed the book too. From what I remember of the book, MW's character is stange and creepy, so he's playing it fine as far as I remember.

FancyFancy · 22/06/2015 16:42

I'm glad someone's enjoying it helen, I was beginning to question whether I should even start watching it given how many people haven't been impressed! From what little I've seen of the programme, creepiness would fit in fine, I just didn't like it so much in TM, I felt he went a bit panto.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 22/06/2015 17:10

I would happily shag MW but he can't act! It must have been difficult for all concerned when PC left the show as he was so good as the Cardinal (yes, I know I'm biased!). But to make Rochefort such a pantomime villain was a mistake.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 22/06/2015 17:13

And given that Rochefort was a kinky fucker, he should have been an obvious choice for my fanfic but he didn't have enough of a character for me to do it!

Baddz · 22/06/2015 17:13

Got to be honest, MW ruined s2 for me. Him, coupled with some odd production/script decisions really made me long for the days of s1 and PC (like liv, I don't fancy him AT ALL but he is a fine actor)
I hope the casting has been better for s3 - I like RE so am excited to see what he does with the character.
Well I have done a bit more since getting back from the school run...sorted the bins for tomorrow (inc neighbours who are away) God, I hate that job!
Cleaned my kitchen bin (Jesus, what happens to the bottom of bins!?)
Put ds2s dinner on
Done dishes
Put a load of washing away
Put a load on
Put together a bingo game I bought for ds2 this morning (£4!!! Bargain!)
Tomorrow I plan a blitz of the house se as a) it needs it and b) it might stop me eating!
Weather here dreadful. I am worried ds1 won't have enough clothes. He has a waterproof and hoodie but will he remember the hoodie is in his case?
Sigh.

I was going to start a S2 rewatch last night after I watched S1 but i couldn't watch MW being totally over the top straight after watching PC's performance!

Baddz · 22/06/2015 17:31

Yes.
Exactly.
I totally get that.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 22/06/2015 17:51

I was having a discussion on FB last night with some PC fangirls - we were wondering how hard it would be to remove the Cardinal's leather outfit - someone described it as 'unwrapping a beautiful present' Grin

Baddz · 22/06/2015 17:53

His cape was ace
Grin

OP posts:
LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 22/06/2015 18:03

Grin It was! I loved how he acted with it too, like when he was busted in Ep 10 by the Queen and he knelt, moving the cape round so it sat just right! Grin

LetUsPrey · 22/06/2015 18:04

Evening wenches.

Am persevering with Strange and Norrell, but only half watch it when it's on IYSWIM. I don't know if I'd seen MW in this without him having been in TM, I wouldn't have minded him, but it's a bit samey. I didn't much like the performance in the early eps of S2 but thought he vastly improved during the last few. I quite like Childermass Grin

Cardinal's costumes were fab but he couldn't walk in those boots.

for Anne re job. At least it's Monday though

Baddz · 22/06/2015 18:10

Didn't like the book but wanted to like the TV show Hmm
Ds2 has finished his 4 courses Grin
He is now on the iPad killing things
Homework in a mo - that will be fun Confused
So odd without ds1 here Hmm
