Munchausen's. my specialist subject. pulls up mastermind chair.

MadamedeChevreuse · 30/04/2015 08:32

That article is beyond distressing. I know that so many cancer sufferers will have been given false hope that they could somehow cure themselves by changing their fucking diets, because of that woman. Sick or not, she should face prosecution.

But I cant believe that she got a BOOK DEAL and articles written about her in international magazines, without anyone making even a basic check on her story!!! Hello???? AND someone warned them about her!!!

The world is pretty fucked up now imo, thanks to the internet. Seems that most things written on the net are taken as fact, and journalism as a profession has gone out of the window cos news organisations have become mere collaters of shit that ordinary people post on the internet.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 30/04/2015 09:14

Except in here of course.

Everything in here is based on rumour fact & supposition research.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/04/2015 09:29

Of course Sparks we are the epitome of accurate and detailed research and analysis, all based on solid and irrefutable speculation fact

I think I'm won't depress myself by reading the Guardian article right now though.

OP posts:
MadamedeChevreuse · 30/04/2015 09:40

Naturally. Eveything I write on here is total utter rant fact and based on off the top of my head bullshit balanced, rational thought.

FancyFancy · 30/04/2015 09:40

Morning all.

Hols are to Austria chaise - I decided against combining two locations, it all started getting a bit too expensive & the choice of hotels that have rooms big enough for three was limited in the smaller locations. This has freed up money for more convenient flight times though and the longer stay in one places gives better hotel room rates which is good news.

That article was pretty interesting, hardly surprising though. I find 'talk' radio hugely annoying for similar reasons. Discussion programmes invite callers-in, but their stories are very rarely questionned even when what they are claiming sounds very dubious. It helps perpetuate myths and makes me seethe. That woman seems less Munchaushen's and more of a compulsive liar/frauster though.

madame, you are awesome . You will get another job & in the meantime, enjoy the allotment & climbing Grin

FancyFancy · 30/04/2015 09:45

We love research in here and love to provide evidence for our theories.

Theory : The Stare is a Santi thing

MadamedeChevreuse · 30/04/2015 10:24

those santi stares are just luffly.

I was just listening to a woman on radio 4 with an incredibly tragic story and found myself doubting her every word.

Thanks, australian mad blog woman.

Lyndie · 30/04/2015 10:26

Thanks Sparks I'll have a look for one there.

I think trolling and malingering are common, actual Munchausen's is very rare, I've only seen one confirmed properly diagnosed patient ever.

My trolldar is notoriously awful but I hate it esp on MN when folk are trying to be kind and it turns out to be nonsense.

Lyndie · 30/04/2015 10:28

It's a shame isn't it Madame? A radio prog would have checked her own I'd have thought.

Any chance of us getting to hear JP interview do you think?

Lyndie · 30/04/2015 10:28

*out [facepalm]

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 30/04/2015 10:31

Flowers for Mavis, Flops and Madame

I had a very weird dream that involved me and Livia playing Bingo at a pub. Then I went to a Royal wedding wearing my Swedish national costume and bonding with Porthos over the buffet. Then it sort of changed to LOTR and I was looking hot in leather and there were no food left except some stuff from McDonalds and a lot of people/monsters were angry because they weren't invited so we were attacked and had to flee to another round. Dog grabbed me and asked if I had brought my sword, and then I woke up Confused

Today is Walpurgis night in Sweden and bonfires are lit in the evening. In Uppsala, which is a student town, there's complete chaos all day long with people celebrating and getting drunk Hmm

ChaiseLounger · 30/04/2015 10:42

WELL, re OUR judgements, predictions and supposition, I think most of our predictions have been FACTUALLY CORRECT.

Have we made any MAJOR mistakes? How soon did we predict the Cardinal's exit? MW's introduction?

I liked the Spanish, prediction for how Santi the monk was going to come back in. Lets see if that comes true.

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/04/2015 10:47

WW Grin
I had a weird one where wenches were at come sort of conference/convention thing. We were all having breakfast at long tables in a big hall and Porthos turned up (and possibly others), then I went off to find the the toilet via some mad 6 inch wide metal stairs and platforms, which collapsed when I tried to come back down. When I got back to the hall and you'd all buggered off without me and I was left meandering aimlessly round a town that I didn't know, wondering where you'd all gone. I was a bit grouchy when I woke up.

I wonder about my subconcious sometimes I mean, FFS if I'm going to dream about you lot couldn't it at least be fun?

Sun's gone in here now, it's clouding over and miserable - no washing today I don't think.

Badders how's the tooth doing today?

OP posts:
Baddz · 30/04/2015 10:48

Morning!
Day 3 of diet and it's going ok so far.
Tooth feeling much better than last night - it throbbed all night :(
Hopefully new sports bra should arrive today!
Madame...YOU ARE NOT USELESS!! I know it's horrid going for interviwes and not hearing back, but it just means they are knobs and you don't want to work for them anyway.
Ww...interesting dream!
I never dream. Which apparently means I am a sociopath. Hey ho.
Been to shops for mum, checked dads flowers, done some ironing.
Think that's me done apart from cooking dinner today. I was going to go for a walk but it raining now...

ChaiseLounger · 30/04/2015 10:48

Laughing at WW's dream.

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 30/04/2015 10:54

I tink it's LSD in the water or something Hmm

ChaiseLounger · 30/04/2015 11:03

yes thank you. fine. you?
Are you sure you are really ok? you've lost a TONNE of weight. ( I haven't lost a pound!!)
Yes I'm fine thank you.

I wander off, thinking of how many swear words I would have/couldhave/ should have used, if I'd told her what I really wanted to say!!!!

IssyStark · 30/04/2015 11:26

WW they do similar in Prague re bonfires etc.

I've only been there once in 1997 and the Sun-Tue was quiet, Wednesday night saw the youth of Prague out of the streets with much merriment and lots of braziers. Thursday was the 1st May (and of course that election in the UK - we had postal votes) and it was as if half of central Europe had descended on the city and once where you could see squares, it was just people.

Our very nice newspaper vendor, from whom we'd been buying the Guardian's international edition daily, sold us the Friday edition with a big smile saying 'labourists, yes?'

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/04/2015 11:32

Am uploading images to a client for one of my current work projects, and the computer automatically went to my musketeers folder.... Well I think it would improve the project no end to be populated with pictures of HBFs but... Hmm

Lyndie · 30/04/2015 11:56

Yep find that Helen!! Appraisal folder online, deleted it super quick!!

Manager of football I support has stepped down/been sacked. Probably the right decision as we've been gash all season but I still feel quite sorry for him.

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 30/04/2015 12:09

You've been gash????

Grin
SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 30/04/2015 12:12

Madame and few hours digging should put paid to those nasty negative thoughts. You did it once, you can and will do it again.....something will come up
